Default Craft area video

Finally put a video together of my little craft area : ) Not much space, but I like going in there and crafting, video is on my blog and also lots of links for crafting storage : )

AfterHoursStamper.com

What I like about my craft area is that it is small....what I don't like is that it is small : ) Am so used to being in the family room that I no longer want to have a room to craft, just my little corner (like the song from Cinderella "In my own little corner in my own little chair I can be whatever I want to be.")

I can understand your not wanting to leave the family room. I too always want to be amidst all activity but able to do my own stuff. Although sometimes I do like the peace and quiet a separate room can afford.

Your organization is great! The very fact that you could squeeze so much stuff in so little a space indicates how well organized you must be!

Oh. My. Gosh! That is unbelievable!!

You have more Stamps, Copics, Dies and just about more of everything than I have (except maybe ribbon, but that's because you didn't show us yours) and yet you've found a way to fit it all in right at your fingertips! I am so envious of your organizing ability!

I've been trying to reorganize and I even moved my computer desk in an effort to keep my crafting stuff all on one side of the room. And I still feel like I don't have enough space for everything. In fact, yesterday my organizing process came to a screeching halt because I exhausted my brain by trying to figure out how I'm going to fit everything into my work space.

I'm going to rethink this a bit and try to see if I can find a way to take things vertical ... without covering up the window that takes up a big chunk of my craft-side wall.

Thanks : ) And being in the middle of the family room does pose problems, was doing a how to customize your embellishment video...and had to redo a number of times because family was using the ice maker, hubby walked in the room talking on the phone and then the cat jumped up on my lap : )

My organization is more from necessity than anything else. I still "lose" things in my craft area, but no where as much as I did before : )

I am so glad you liked the links! The board on pinterest had so much that I had to stop looking after a while (so I could other things done in the house). So many great ideas out there, all of them a bit different! I love the variations in how people do things, if you don't like one idea there is sure to be some other way to store crafting things. And I still have a ton more links that have not yet been posted.

Did you visit the Crafty storage blog? I have spent hours alone just on her blog, some really amazing rooms as well as smaller crafting areas : )

I am always looking at storage systems/elements for how much they store, and how much room they take up. The reason I love the tool turnaround is that it stores so much and really doesn't take up much room, always have what I need at my finger tips.

Remember that my little area has evolved over four years, a great deal of trial and error. You really don't want to see the list of what didn't work : )

Your area looks uber effecient - I have a whole room and I would love to have the sense of order that you have. I am working on it. Your video is very inspirational - full of great ideas. TFS

Thanks Cathy. I actually think it is easier to be organized with the small space, because there is not the ability to just store things anywhere. I used my daughters room when she went away for college (she is back home now) and to tell you the truth...I didn't like going into the room by myself, and things were not as organized as I would have liked.

Would love to see what you do to your room : )
