Does anyone have another way of storing CTMH stamp sets aside from the storage containers CTMH sells for them? For me, it's too time consuming to have to page through all the sets to find the name on the front of their sleeves... and if I don't know the names of the sets by heart - I have to lift the sets out to see the images. If I had less sets, it wouldn't be an issue. But i have about 150 sets split across multiple CTMH storage containers and can't think of a way to store these better! Any suggestions?
I use open (no lids) wicker baskets to store my CTMH sets. I have 4 baskets lined up on my shelf, so all you have to do is flip through them. Each basket holds 25-30 sets. I bought the baskets at an estate sale....they were new with tags on them and the perfect width to hold the CTMH envelopes!! I remember another blogger had bought plastic baskets at The Dollar Store or Daiso. She had her baskets lined up on a shelf, too.
Before I went to the method I'm using now, I took all of the sets out of the sleeves, added tabs with the set name and stood them all up in a box, alphabetical by size (A, B, C, D):
This was also before I expanded my collection, lol...
I keep mine in little bins I bought years ago at Target and the bins fit on an old vhs tape shelving unit that we were going to throw away. I'd post a picture if I knew how.
Do you have the little cube sized boxes? Because the large storage totes hold a lot more sets and make that a little less annoying. I actually previously had five of the cubes. I went through and purged and now all of my CTMH sets are in one of the large boxes. (Tip: take out the dividers-- it frees up more space than you'd think.)
On the plus side, the cube ones are great for my copics and spectrum noir markers.
If you don't want to upgrade, here's a tip that you may or may not know: take the stuff out of the envelope and turn it around so that the stamps through the same side with the name. So simple, but totally changed my life!! (Okay, my CTMH stamp using life.)
Love these ideas, thank you! Right now I am using the CTMH large bins and that is what I want to get away from. I am definitely going to try these suggestions out!

I do this too! I was going to move them to the Avery packages, but I really prefer the CTMH stamp envelope. Turning the set around so that it faces the front lets me see my stamps instead of the snap.
I love those mesh bins! If you don't mind sharing, what are the dimensions of them? Maybe I can find them at the container store or somewhere else online! Thank you
Catherine, I use the frig bins from Bed, bath & beyond to store all my stamp sets. If you decide to go this route bring 1 of the CTMH envelopes with you to make sure you get the correct size. You can also purchase these on line from Amazon if that is more convenient for you! Hope this helps
CTMH finally got rid of the snap envelopes, which helps with space too. I always take out the foam piece as well. I do use the large CTMH boxes and label them by set size (A, B, C, etc) and then have them in numerical order, and I use Evernote to keep track of my stamps. I just save the image off the CTMH website, put it into Evernote by set number and name, and then add tags. I love it!

Yes, sorry late in my reply!
They're about 5" length (tall) and about 7" at base, graduated to about 9" at the top width. They're not squared, but they hold about 15 CTMH stamp envelopes each. I think I got them for a couple dollars each.

I love the envelopes. What do the stamps come in now?
They are the same envelopes - just without the snap. The sets with dies now come inside the the same envelope. The envelopes have a slot where the top slides in super easily. I really like them!

Ah, ok...thank you for the info! I really do love the envelopes for secure stamp storage.
I'm not sure if they make these wide enough anymore, so measure them before you buy one. My father in law had one he wasn't using in his office that I "borrowed" (with my mother in laws blessing). But I store my CTMH stamps in a plastic 3 drawer tower tower. I store them backwards so I can easily pull a drawer out and flip through them to find what I want. I haven't cataloged my stamps, so I don't need to see the name. The top drawer is for every day stamps, middle is thank you, then birthday, then small letter sets. Bottom is Fall and Christmas.
WOW - I love love love how you have the CTMH sets stored in those white mesh drawers!!!! I had to watch the video without sound b/c I'm at work (working very hard clearly, lol.) But will watch it again tonight so I can hear where you bought them from or the brand. That absolutely inspired me. Thank you!

Just a hint - if you click on the CC at the bottom of the video screen you can get closed captions. Um, kind of helpful at work. ;) (Don't ask me how I know)

It's not my video but it is where I got my inspiration. They were purchased at the Container Store; I ordered online and it arrived within a few days. I really like this system as I used to be a CTMH demonstrator and I have hundreds of stamp sets. This works well for me.

Forgot to add it's the Elfa brand and it is the extra narrow rails and baskets.
I finally made my own open topped boxes for storing my sets, but to be honest, I rarely use them because they are on a separate shelf from all my other stamps. I wish I could afford SU cases for all of them so everything would be together.
I dislike the snaps on the envelopes as much as I dislike the snaps on some of my die sets. I think they snaps take up too much storage space! Haha
