Does any one share their stamp room with the laundry room and if you do what do you like and dislike? We are working on floor plans for our new house and I am going to combine my stamp/craft room with the laundry room and any ideas or thoughts you have would be greatly appreciated. . . .
I just built a new home, and I designed a combination craft/laundry room. I haven't taken pictures yet as that room still seems to be the catchall for everything left to be unpacked -almost finished. I have a built in desk, a 5 ft. wood desk, 2 long counters - 1 for crafting & 1 for laundry, lots of cabinets, drawers, & bookshelves. Also my washer & dryer and clothes hanging rod. I used to share my craft space with guest bedroom with not much room for my stuff and had to put everything away when we had company. I do not have any dislikes - love everything about it. It is just me and my husband so I don't have a lot of laundry. I will try to get pictures soon.
i don't have that combo. i have a room to myself.
but i think i would like it. as i could keep the laundry going. and have fun at the same time.
no need to pick up my toys for company.
i say it would be a strong choice for me-as long as it's well planned. and of course enough room/storage. put alot of thought into how you would use the space. and storage. look/drool over room here. and plan
My craft/laundry room in 10 ft. X 15 ft. When you walk in the door on the left is a built-in 42 in. desk with bookshelves above, attached to that is a 6 ft. counter with 10 drawers and 2 cabinet doors with pull-out shelves underneath. Above this are 2 cabinet doors on each end with shelves in between. Then is my 5 ft. wooden craft desk.
On the right side is a clothes hanging rod and washer/dryer with cabinets above. Then a 6 ft folding counter with pull-out shelves underneath and 1 drawer and cabinet door. I have baskets on pull-outs. I also use this counter when crafting.
I have been working on this room so I could take pictures this morning and am going to try to attach without uploading them to gallery.
Above were views from door. I will show a couple more views. I like keeping most of my things out of sight except on my craft desk. My drawers are great though. Everything is easy to see and get to when I open the drawers and cabinets.
this is what i do! mine isn't cute & finished yet, but it sure is handy. this way i can easily switch out loads of laundry while working on crafts & don't have to worry about putting everything away if we're having company or overnight guests. works great!
Laura thanks for sharing the photos, seems very similiar to what size I am thinking and cabinets. I have the same style washer / Dryer.
Fionna thanks for the link that helps too.
I am excited now, as what I have pictered in my head will work. That was my biggest concern. I hope everyone keeps sharing ideas as you can never have to many . . . .
love the idea of having the craft room in the laundry room - my laundry is in the celler and the craft room on the second floor - hate running up and down 2 flights of stairs - maybe -- someday ---

Oh my goodness ladies.... What Laundry Rooms you have!!! The only thing I could think of would be a sink... I have a crafty converted bedroom and I do other crafty things and I love having a sink to get water and wash out paint, etc... I do have a sink in my laundry room and love it.
I love my office even if I do have to share it with the laundry. The main advantage is that I have to keep the laundry from piling up, and with 5 kids let me tell you it does pile up, or I can't work and we wouldn't want that to happen, LOL. Sharing my room with the laundry was the only way I was going to have a space of my own before the kids grow up and even though my space is tiny it really works for me.

My craft/computer room is in a tiny room next to my laundry room. I have a big, older house, but when we put on the addition I wanted the luandry room upstairs. It was in the basement. My stamping room was a tiny bedroom and is now a walk through to the addition. I love how cozy it is and being upstairs my craft table over looks my yard and lilac trees. I have lots of other bigger spaces it could be in. I love it next to my laundry room.

Love these spaces. Multi-tasking seems to be the name of the game these days. Thanks so much for sharing, I am thinking of updating my space, now that I have been in it awhile and know what I like and don't like. Thanks so much for sharing.

I love spending as much time as possible in my Color Studio
I get SO MUCH more laundry done when I am stamping! Even if my space isn't in the laundry room (I wouldn't be able to stand the pump). I think it is a awesome idea.
