Morning Debbie,if the offer still stands about the Pdf for layout that would be great . I assure you I would only use parts of it to get a start on Megs invite. Having some trouble finding text weight shimmer paper around here. Paper source didn't carry white at all just silver and gold....thought that was odd. Oh well have a great Sunday. The weather is finally beautiful here. Thanks. Kathleen

Debbie, Yay I just stumbled and I do mean stumbled onto your last messages.I am being totally challenged by this website . I included my email someplace on this site but who knows if I did that correctly so I'll put it here and it would be great if you could share your layout. bkbardeer@comcast.net I don't do a lot of this and as mentioned we just did Meg's wedding invites but I clearly was not the one in charge of the computer lol but I was behind the vision and the artistic vision. The little flower is so sweet and adds such a nice soft touch,I am trying to use soft Aqua on Meg's and I don't believe velum comes in that color so I might need to figure out something else. Is the tool you are referring to called a stylus I don't know but that is what came to my head. I think The Paper Source might have a text weight shimmer paper I'll have to check,do you have those stores out by you? I sure do appreciate yor patience and help as I try to recreate your design.

    Hi Kathy,
I'm from the Chicago area. The dress is one layer. It might look like two layers because there are some creases and holes in it to make it look more dimensional. I used text weight pearlized paper (from Paper-Papers.com). I used text weight because card stock seemed to wrinkle. Office Depot might have paper similar to what I used. I made the flower with pink vellum. It's two little flowers, one on top of the other with a glue dot in between them. Then I use....gosh, I don't know what to call it...a tool used to make creases on cards or to do dry embossing. It has a small ball on the end. Anyway, place the two stuck together flowers on a paper piercing pad and I push that tool into the middle of the two flowers. It causes the vellum to wrap around the ball, which makes the flower look less flat. Then I used a little rhinestone in the middle of the flower and at the bottom of each of the cuts on the dress.

As for the written information on body of the invitation, the font for the majority of the card is called Opalo and I got it free from Dafont.com. The font the bride's name is in is called Aphrodite Slim, that is a purchased font from Myfonts.com. I make a lot of invitations so I do buy some of my fonts. I can send you a pdf of the layout of the written part of the invitation if you want. You'll have to give me an email address to send it to because I don't think I can attach anything to this message. I just type all of my stuff in Word. My home printer will take Stampin' Ups smooth white and vanilla card stock.

However, I often times save my document as a pdf onto a flash drive and take it, along with my card stock, to Office Max and have it printed. I especially like to do that when I am printing with color ink. What I do is set it all up and print it on text weight paper at home to be sure it is all spaced the way I want it to be. When I have it exactly the way I want it I take it in to be printed. I use a lot of text boxes so I can have more control over the spacing and placement of the text.
If you have any more questions, let me know.
Good luck with your project and have a good night,
    Debbie
PS- I'd love to see what your's looks like!

Thank you so much! I found that die on eBay this morning and was about to purchase when I saw another one exactly the same but size was different. In the picture you posted it appeared that the dress was two layers one that was shimmer and maybe another white or off white under that? The softness of the dress is what really caught my eye. Did you add anything besides the pink rose bud ? Was it hard to get the shower info on the card stock? I just made all the wedding invitations but my daughter did the computer part and I did the artistic stuff. I will have to ask my sons for computer help . I am so excited to hear from you and if you have any tips please feel free to send them my way. I don't know where you live but I noticed GMT on your post I live in New Jersey the east coast of US. Thank you again so much for making my day. Hope you have a blessed day. Kathy

You mentioned you weren't very good at computer stuff, so if you highlight the above web address, copy it and then paste it in your address bar you should be taken to the page I found. If it doesn't work, Google QuicKutz Wedding Dress metal die. While I was looking around for you I found another one called QuickKutz 4 x 4 sleeveless wedding dress metal die. I found it here: I think this one looks nice.
I used shimmery white paper for the dress and as it came out of the Big Shot I tried to keep the bottom punch out parts in the dress. I taped them to the back. I didn't want those holes in the bottom of the dress. I popped the dress up with stampin up dimensionals and then lightly glued the hanger to the top edge of the dress. Does any of this help you? If you have more questions just send me a message.
    Warm regards,
    Debbie

Hi there! I'm glad you liked my invitation. At the time I was making these invitations I looked high and low for a wedding dress die cut. It took me a long time to find one. Just now I went on ebay and found the one I used...for a lot less than what I paid!
