This thread started in general stamping but we have moved to this thread so that we have access to the edit function, therefore being able to update the excel file on the first post.
I am going to start collecting sentiments in an excel file. So if you would like to contribute I will get a list going. I have attached what we have so far. Thank you all who have contributed. I will make changes and updates as we go. Any comments, suggestions or if you just want to list sentiments, please do, I will add and update as often as I can. Thanks everyone!!!
Boy is this great. I always do sentiments for the inside. I usually search in my Greeting card program for something relevant. I just saved this to both word & XL. When opening XL, all the links for different occasions are on the bottom. How fabulous is that? I also subscribed to this thread. Thanks again
Thank you, but a lot of wonderful people make this list happen. SCS is the best, I am glad everyone can enjoy these. There are many more coming. Alma and I are in the process of weeding out and placing some we received on excel.

It needed to be started, I am always stumped for the inside....I have gotten some great quotes and I have used a bunch. People really appreciate the extra step in their cards. I can even use some of the quotes on my scrapbook pages. LOL
My day is slowly turning around.....work has a way of knocking you down a peg but knowing I did a good job helps and of course SCS always brightens my day.

Glad your day is turning around. SCS is what keeps me going some days. Annabelle has a bad ear infection so I'm exhausted. Our sleep schedule has been totally screwed up. Thankfully she seems to be getting better.

OH I am so sorry to hear, it really pains me when the kids are sick. Hugs to you and of course Annabelle.

Thank you so much! I was at a complete loss for an inside sentiment for a dear friend who lost her father. You came to my rescue! Thanks for starting and maintaining this thread!
I am so glad we could help. I say "we" because many people have contributed. I will be updating soon. I have so many more sentiment to add. Soon I promise.
I needed a card verse for my boss, his wife and children. His wife lost her dad this week and I wanted something special. I liked the verse about a special dad but it didn't think it would apply to the family as a whole, so I wrote the following (please feel free to add it to your other verses if you like it):
The time had come for him to leave,
He did not want to go
But God had other plans for him,
He said, "I need you so."
So he has left this world of ours
And you're so very sad
But think of all your happy memories
And the great times that you had.
For memories stay in your heart
Forever and a day
So if you think of him often,
He'll never go away.
This is one of my fav birthday sayings. My sister thinks it's morbid.
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, champagne in one hand, strawberries and chocolate in the other, thouroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming---WOW--what a ride!!
Thanks Pam I will definitely add it, it's perfect. Great job.

Here are a few I found. I was looking for something to add to "find joy in the little things" saying.
We tend to forget that happiness doesn't come as a result of getting something we don't have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have. ~Frederick Keonig
Joy is a flower that blooms when you do. ~Author Unknown
One joy scatters a hundred griefs. ~Chinese Proverb
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things. ~Robert Brault
Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this list and thank you Delia for starting this.
Thanks Denise,
I have added your quotes. Thanks so much!!

I haven't been able to read all the postings yet so maybe this is posted somewhere but my favorite sentiment is "I would miss you even if I'd never met you."
Thanks so much Kate, I will check and add if it's not there.

Speaking of sentiments, I figured a lot of people looking at this thread might want to help. I saw someone's thread earlier and forgot to subscribe to it, like a dummy. Now I can't find it. But she is collecting cards for the families of all the victims of the Virginia Tech tragedy. If she sees this, please post the thread. Her name and address is: Katherine Cosimano, 421 Crabapple Cove, Port Saint Lucie, FL 34986. She was saying if each member of SCS made just one card, think of what a difference it would make. She will make sure all the cards get to the right place. I copied her avitar in support.

Here is one dh came up wth for my friend who is an accountant! I find it quite funny.
Spring has sprung,
the grass is green
Doing taxes
makes you mean.
take it with a grain of salt please! My friend works close to 20 hrs a day doing taxes and she gets a little testy during tax season! lol So totally understandable - I would probably be more than a little testy myself!
Kyla
Thanks Kyla,
That is funny, especially now. I added it to miscellanous. Sometimes, I just don't know what catagory they fit into so I just add to miscell. LOL Thanks so much.

I love this thread and fond a couple you might like.

Thanks so much Stampmore, some of these I know sound familiar but I will add them then sort and take out any repeats. Thanks so much!!! I have a huge update that I am working on, hopefully I will update soon. thanks again

Thanks for touching my life with your special friendship!
Give thanks for the simple things in life

The best things in life aren't things.
Love returned is the true reward of love given.

Good friends are like rare books, hard to find, precious and few. I'm glad I have a friend like you.
Here are a list of Eleanor Roosevelt quotes, they seem to work well in tons of cards!
A woman is like a tea bag- you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water.
Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, but beautiful old people are works of art.
Do what you feel in your heart to be right - for you'll be criticized anyway. You'll be damned if you do, and damned if you don't.
Friendship with oneself is all-important, because without it one cannot be friends with anyone else in the world.
Great minds discuss ideas; Average minds discuss events; Small minds discuss people.
I could not at any age be content to take my place in a corner by the fireside and simply look on.
I think that somehow, we learn who we really are and then live with that decision.
If someone betrays you once, it’s their fault; if they betray you twice, it’s your fault.
It is not fair to ask of others what you are unwilling to do yourself.
You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.' You must do the thing you think you cannot do.
No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.
People grow through experience if they meet life honestly and courageously. This is how character is built.
Delia, thank you for taking such an amount of time to compile these expressions into a single document to simplify our access. You certainly are the Wonder Woman your avatar depicts.....
Thanks that is so sweet!!! I really have to update, I have so many, but I am still trying to get them into the proper tabs. Also I have Alma helping me she has a bunch of holidays and is also putting them into tabs for me. We should be updating soon. Thanks again for the sweet words.

OK guys, I uploaded the new excel files and then realized how many spelling errors I had in them, so I pulled them off. Right now the Word file is up and I will try to get the excel file up tonight. Right now I am leaving to pick up my son. Thanks all for understanding. Hugs to all
Hi,
I added lots of new sentiments. I still have about half to go through that Jessica (sweetpea111403) generously supplied. And I have Alma (A1r601) helping me out with some Holiday one I received. I finally feel like I am making some head way. Thanks all for your sentiment and your help. If you find errors please let me know, if I fix it on the master list then it will always be correct when I put up new updates. Thanks all and please enjoy!!
