If I find something that works, I list it here. I'm not the list originator, but as far as I'm concerned, all sentiments are at our disposal in whatever way we want to use them.

No, they do not have to be original. I think many of us post when we run across them in a variety of places. Myself, I have a list I compiled many years ago, several pages long, and I post from it, a few at a time.
But, on the other hand, I think original sayings/sentiments are welcome too.

Also, if I know the author of the sentiment, I provide that as well, if it says anonymous, I include that too.

Thanks ladies, you can place any sentiments you want, if you know the author I will list them. If you make it up, I will list you as the author. In all the years I have had this list up, I have only recieved one email asking me to remove a copyrighted sentiment. When that happens, I remove the sentiment and repost the list.

Thanks for clarifying. I love that you've compiled this list. Thank you so very much.

I found this sentiment for Halloween that I had never seen before:

What have we here? A pirate, a clown?
Why are there goblins all over our town?

I know all around me are ghosts unseen
because it’s that time again….Halloween.

I see Dracula wanting a bite, and other
strange creatures now that it’s night.

Beware of witches and low-flying bats,
ninjas, Elvis and scary black cats!

May your candy bag sag with lots of good eats
and your night be a happy, fun-filled treat!

While I'm waiting for dinner to cook...thought I would post a few funny sentiments:

1) In dog years, you'd be dead.

2) There is no snooze button on a cat who wants breakfast

3) When things are bad
And getting worse
Keep a cookie
In your purse

Default Sentiments list

May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey be plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
Have never a lump.
May your yams be delicious
And your pies take the prize,
And may your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off your thighs!

I found this in an email & have no idea who to give credit to, but thought is was sooo cute and needed to be added to this amazing Sentiments list you take such good care of!!!

This came into my head this morning - No idea why

With ink on her fingers
And glue on her clothes
She shall buy cardstock
Wherever she goes

"A friend is someone who lingers for a moment,
but leaves memories that last a lifetime"

A Mother's love continues to be shown,
long after we are grown.

Celebrate this happy occasion,
tomorrow it will be a memory
to make you smile time and time again.
When you are sad,
think of the butterfly on the morning dew,
it will spend its day watching over you.
These are all ones I created and are now sold by Stamping Sensations a set of 16 total.

Ah! To the "tune" of one of our favorite family nursery rhymes... "Ride a CockHorse to Banbury Cross.."

LOL! Thanks! Maybe I can justify my habit to DH, since this was his favorite rhyme as a baby.. Teehee!

Default Updated Thanks all!!!

Thanks everyone for the great sentiments and quotes. I have updated the list to include all the recent additions. You can find the excel list in the very first post of this thread.

Also I added a great link that KalaKitty provided which has a ton of quotes. I have listed the link here and in the excel sheet under links.

That is so sweet but you only have the holiday sentiments in PDF form. There are many tabs along the bottom of the excel file and a PDF form is not really the best way to view the list of sentiments.

For those who don't have excel Lynn in St. Louis put the spreadsheet on Google Docments and she updates when I update and this way you don't need excel. The link is in the first thread above the the Excel attachment. Check it out.

After using this tool for so long, I finally have one to add. My mother collects owls, so I immediately purchased the Two Step Owl Punch and have really enjoyed the Hear No Evil, See No Evil, Speak No Evil creations! So, I CASE'd the owls with the wings covering the appropriate area and used those labels below the owls. For the inside greeting, I created the following:

Oh so silly … Owls don’t speak!
Just too hard to work those beaks.
But if they did, we know they’d say
Have a Hoot-Hoot on your Birthday!

Hope this is appropriate to be added.
