This thread started in general stamping but we have moved to this thread so that we have access to the edit function, therefore being able to update the excel file on the first post.
I am going to start collecting sentiments in an excel file. So if you would like to contribute I will get a list going. I have attached what we have so far. Thank you all who have contributed. I will make changes and updates as we go. Any comments, suggestions or if you just want to list sentiments, please do, I will add and update as often as I can. Thanks everyone!!!
If you are unable to open the excel links, Lynn in St. Louis has the most currect spreadsheets in Google. She updates as soon as I do. Here is the link to her lists.
You do so many thoughtful things
for others through the year
You have a way of lifting spirits
and filling hearts with cheer
So I know this day's just perfect
to make a wish for you
For all the good things you desire
each day the whole year through.
I am back from my maternity leave and will be going back through the sentiments and updating the list hopefully in the next couple of days. Thanks to everyone for continuing to add sentiments while I was out.
I updated the list of sentiments. I added a bunch to the Birthday section and made Life and Nature in the same tab. Let me know if you have any questions and if you find something that should be under another tab please let me know. Thanks all for adding to these sentiments.
PS
For all the new people, the sentiments can be found in the first post.
Hi ladies...I've updated the google document with the new updated spreadsheet. If you have problems opening dazzling20's excel file, you can find the same list HERE.
Thanks so much for updating the list! We love the work you have done to keep this list current and growing, dazzling20!!!

"Why would you want something so common as money when you can have something so rare as ________". I came up with this one myself, I can't seem to fill in the blank. Would "love" work? I don't want to say "love is rare" or should I say "so precious as family or love"
I missed this post (not sure how ... I live on SCS!)
It's been a busy summer (we moved) but fun. My BFF and I are going to a Scrapbook Expo in Somerset, NJ the last Saturday of this month and we plan to also go to Rhinebeck in Sept. (different organizers but same place as previous years). Will you be at either (or both)?
First I want to send a big THANK YOU for doing this. I have the link on my desktop and I use it ALL the time. I have a question though. Since it is a link, does it update automatically, or do I have to do something each time I open it? Obviously I'm not very computer literate, and my brain doesn't want to wrap around this!
I am always interested in the inside messages. I am assuming you use the computer to print these before you cut the cardstock. My problem is that I like to have a box of finished cards and put the sentiment in when I know who I am sending it to. Do you have any suggestions about putting the sentiments inside a finished card?
Hi
I print out a lot of sentiments and cut them out and round the corners, then when I know which card I want to add it to, I glue it inside.
Rose Gardinia
If it's a link to my downloads then you don't have to worry about updating. If you saved the excel file on your computer then you have to save the new update. I hope this helps.

I print mine as I need them on a 4 x 6 note card and then cut it to size. You can round the corners, use a small punch, or use a corner punch to spice it up a little. I've never had a card where the white inside didn't look nice.

I set up templates for each size card that I make. Then I do the front of the card and before I attach it to the card, I take the blank card stock, the size of the card, print the inside verse, fold it and then attach front. This way also, if you mess up (and I do) you have not ruined your card, only a piece of cardstock.
New to this thread. Thanks to the weekly email for directing me here. Awesome! I love the idea of printing the inside verse. Need to learn how to set up the templates. Maybe that is what the new digital program is going to help us with.

Thanks to all
What digital program are you referring to?

We have a secret, you and I
that no one else shall know,
for who but I can see you lie
each night in fire glow?
And who but I can reach my hand
before we go to bed
and feel the living warmth of you
and touch your silken head?
And only I walk woodland paths
and see ahead of me,
your small form racing with the wind
so young again, and free.
And only I can see you swim
in every brook I pass
and when I call, no one but I
can see the bending grass.

Oh what unhappy twist of fate
Has brought you homeless to my gate,
The gate where once another stood
To beg for shelter, warmth and food?
For from that day I ceased to be
The master of my destiny,
While she, with purr and velvet paw
Became within my house the law.
She scratched the furniture and shed
And claimed the middle of my bed,
She ruled in arrogance and pride
And broke my heart the day she died.
So if you really think, oh cat
I'd willingly relive all that,
Because you come forlorn and thin
Well don't just stand there - come on in!
A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.

As for sayings for cards this site is my favorite hope you find it useful, not only does it have birthdays, it has a variety of various different classifications. http://versalog.com/cgi-bin/vlog.cgi
These are great, I will add them to the list, they will be in the pet tab next update. Thanks so much for contributing.

Macroartist, I really like your sentiment "Do not go where the path may lead; go instead where there is no path and leave a trail" I will enter it under the motivate-encourage tab on the next update.
Look for it when I update again. Thanks so much.

Looks like this thread and excel list have been around for a while, but I just discovered them. Awesome. Thanks so much to those who created this wonderful resource!

I saw these on stamps and thought of my older brothers who are in their 60's:
You’re only as old as you feel...
WOW...that must really suck for you!
