i created this because i seemed to always see questions on the boards about various angel policies. since the angel policy determines whether or not we can sell our creations, i think a lot of stampers were interested.

i don't know if the wish RAK group uses it or not - i've never heard from anyone about that.

i'm glad you find my list useful. there's links to the websites included, and i especially find that helpful!

I haven't commented previously because I've never sold my creations, only given out as gifts. I'm now starting to explore all the issues with starting an arts/crafts type of business, so I've gone looking for information just like this to see if what I like to use will let me use it for money making ventures. I'm glad to see that you've kept the information as updated as you can. It gives people like me who weren't interested before but are now a place to start. An terrific, much needed resource.

Thank you so much for this list! No one wants to infringe on another person's copyright, but sometimes it's so hard to find out whether or not you can use a stamp. For example, has anyone ever found any sort of policy for Tsunkineko? They had those marvelous Asian kanji character stamps some years ago.

I contacted TPC Studios (The Paper Company) with regard to their angel policy on Facebook. It is on their wall but I can't post a link because I haven't posted enuf. This was their response :
Hi TPC Studio- do you have an angel policy? I am a business owner and would LOVE to include your stamps in my creation (with proper credit given to you of course) but wanted to check. Please let me know. Thank you so much!
Like · · about an hour ago ·

TPC Studio Hi Melissa! No, we don't have an angel policy, so feel free to use our stamps. Giving us credit when you use them would be great!

YAY! May I suggest you put it on your website? In searching for this info, I had a few people ask the same and didn't have an answer. I guess I am a bit more persistent? LOL I have a number of friends that like to use your stamps and I would hate for them to be deterred from using them because they want to follow rules and use your awesome images but are afraid to. Thanks so much for the info. I will be sure to post it on one of the websites that I use and copy it so your words are exact. Thanks so much TPC Studio

I haven't gotten a response after that but I thought you may want to update your records or check it out before you did. Thank you so much for doing such a comprehensive list It's AWESOME!

Thank you for this, it is very useful. I have been gathering angel policies, or links to them on my blog and haven't managed to complete it yet, or find everyone. I am adding links as I come to the stamps to use or remember more. The most upsetting thing to me is Inkadinkado have refused me permission to sell using their stamps and EK success products in general in the community volunteer run shop that I have recently put a few cards in, I can only sell if customers commission a card and pick the stamps and papers etc and how will they do that if I can't show them any? I can try blogging some, I love those stamps and have loads of sets, and I am reluctantly thinking of selling them all now, I haven't even used most of them.

Oh crap, second question... just thought of it... since the original linked pdf is updated, if I download it it won't be updated? Is there a way to subscribe or get notifications if it does get updated?

Regarding copyright and Angel policies, I have noticed that some companies limit the number of items you can sell with a particular image. For example, Penny Black limits this to 36 items per image. Also, some companies require that you note on the item that the stamp is a copyrighted image of their company.
Cards I have sold before have not been stamped and have been all my own creation. However, after retirement I plan to sell stamped cards I have created at local markets and such.
I certainly do want to respect copyright ownership, and realize that for companies such as Penny Black. I shall have to keep a record of how many cards I sell containing each particular image. (Of course I am hand stamping.)
Also, I have several stamps which I have bought up cheaply at sales and I have no idea to which company they belong.
How do others acknowledge stamp copyright on their cards? A small line under your signature on the back of the card?

It has been pointed out to me that the Penny Black policy wording has changed, you must now seek permission from them which I have just done.

Do you know about Stamps Happen?

So for hero arts I need to get written permission to use their stamps? EK Sucess said to just give them credit by writing their name somewhere on the project. I still don't know about Martha Stewart, Stampabilities and stampendous. Have a notebook full of info. I want to give proper credit.

Yes, you need to ask Hero Arts, I did and it was fine.

Penny Black also require you to ask permission which they gave me, it was all a bit odd, they want me to send them photos of what I make each time.
