Default Cuttlebug "Sandwich" Stacks

I'm moving the Sandwich download to this forum so that I can post updates without bugging the mods (thanks Kim for the suggestion!).

I've read through the hundreds (it's thousands now, right?) of posts in the Cuttlebugitis thread, as well as other threads on the boards regarding die-cutting and compatibility between dies and machines.

So, I made up a chart on Cuttlebug Sandwich Stacks based on info I found on the boards, and PMs from users that had tried some unique things.

This list is NOT complete, but I'll add to it and repost if SCSers have additional findings. Hopefully, someone else will find this as useful as I have.

Enjoy!

NOTE: The Cuttlebugs tend to differ in space inside the machine, so be sure to ERR ON THE THIN SIDE when putting new stacks into your machine!

b.t.w.
I have run thin metal sheets (i.e., Making Memories is the brand I bought) through the Cuttlebug Embossing Folders and it's the same sandwich setup as using regular cardstock.

I thought about that too, but would you not need both a negative and a positive side stencil for it to work......it would have to have something pushing down on it from above to make the embossing design? Just as the embossing folder does?

The funniest thing....I got 2 B's and a C in my new Cuttlebug. Is there a large difference in the size of the b & a? Perhaps I should return mine?
HELP Please.

I haven't actually used the mouse-pad method, but there are plenty of others that have (check the Cuttlebugitis thread) and it works... the mousepad pressed into the metal template.

Shelley - you should have gotten 1-A (that's the white one), 2-Bs and 1-C.

and I have personally tested the rubber gasket method with the brass templates. I think Cat is being really careful about only posting things which have been tried and resported as successful.

oh thank you so much for this information. I just purchased the "BUG" a few days ago and am absolutely loving this little machine. I have a wizard and use it rarely because it just seems to awkward and clumsy. No so with this little darling. And thanks to you, now I can use all my dies, and templates as well as the tons of brass stencils I have, thank you for putting this together.

I just heard about the Cuttle bug a day or two ago and went out and purchased mine. Just a hint for Utah stampers, you can get it for 40%-50% off at Roberts using their coupons. At least, you can now. They may change their minds soon and put disclaimers as they do with Cricut, so if you're thinking about it get it asap!

After reading all of these posts, I had to grab my 40% off Michael's coupon and get the bug for myself. I am in love! It works with my Sizzix dies, and I can't wait to try it with my brass templates. It's garage sale time for the old Sizzix machine, baby!

If your plate cracked, call Provocraft customer service. I had cracked mine running Sizzix large dies and chipboard. I just told them my plates cracked and they sent me a replacement, no questions asked. My new B plates are running the Sizzix dies just perfectly now. So, if it seems too tight, contact Provocraft for the replacements. I think they must either be thinner, or made of stronger material(?)

I got a Cuttlebug this weekend, at AC Moore for 45 bux! They were having a demo on the CB and I was so excited, after seeing all the cool embossing examples in the gallery and on people's blogs. Unfortunately all the embossing folders were gone by the time I got there, so no embossing for now...boo. Im so glad to see this post because we tried using a Fiskars embossing template at the store and it didnt work at all, but of course we didnt use the right "sandwich"! Thanks a bunch.
