Inspiration Challenge #23 (Don't forget to add IC23 to your keywords please!)
Today's inspiration comes from a couple fun decor items I found at Target.
Feel free to translate the inspiration item into a card, a scrapbook page, or another project. Be inspired by the colors, layout, theme, or anything else -- this is up to your own interpretation!
Here is my sample. I was inspired by the colors and wavy lines, to me it felt tropical so my card reminds me of the beach.
Wild and crazy but looks like fun!
I still have to do last weeks too but I'm not passing up that great color block photo! I just need to catch up after a bad week!

I've never done the IC before, but I always check the inspiration piece out and look at everyone's creations. How's it going?! My daughter has both of your inspiration items hanging in her room! I must try to do this one this weekend. Too funny!
Have a Mother's Day program practice tomorrow... I'm the pianist. So depending on how much more practice my fingers need on that keyboard, I hope to be able to try this tomorrow!
Love the card you did Karen and I can see a summer theme too. Question : what are the samples ? Wall Art ? Hooks ? I can't tell.. And I'm like Rox I still need to do last weeks, it's too cool.

I think the wavy piece is a magnet board and the flowers are just pretty (I think they are wall art) -- I took this picture months ago...so I may be wrong. Debbie says her daughter has them, maybe she'll notice the question and post an answer.
I've got an idea. Maybe I'll have time to translate it to paper today.

I planned this one using the wavy shape of the inspiration picture. Had thought to make my own flowers to set on top of the waves, but found a sheet of flower and butterfly charms from Targets $1 spot and used them instead since the metal sentiment went with them better. My scan seems to be saying it needs a little something more, so I think I'll tie some more fiber or ribbon to the charm loops. Dreamwaves Card
I don't have any fancy cutting system to cut those curves just right and it shows in the scan of my card--which is still pending, so I won't post it yet. I did think of something (after I made mine) which would help. So if you need a hint I remembered an old teacher's craft trick...
Stack the different colored strips that you want to cut in the wavy pattern. Be sure they are 1/4 to 1/2 inch longer than you actually need them to be. Staple the stack together at both ends. Cut your wavy pattern (assuming your scissors can cut that many at one time.) After you are finished cut off the stapled ends and you have a stack of perfectly matched wavy strips.

Beverly,
You made me laugh with your comment. I STILL use that method today. Yes, I am a teacher LOL!
Great to know these ideas are still being passed on.

Yes, the wavy things are magnet boards so to speak and the flowers are pretty much a string of lights with the light being the center of the flower. My daughter has them hanging over her mirror above her dresser. She likes to light them up at night. I'm still going to try and get this challenge done tomorrow. I'll post on Monday.

Wow, looks like I have some catching up to do, raduse is on her second card and I haven't even got a chance to see her first. I hope I can stay home tomorrow evening and gallery gaze!
here is my card: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...0&ppuser=17187

Don't know where I've been......didn't know there was an Inspirational Challenge. I just thought the waves were really fun. Even though I didn't stay with the color part, it did provide inspiration for the thank you card I made for the gal who is the teacher for my dog obedient class.
Another great one Karen. I was stumped but managed to combine IC, SC and WT this week. One challenge just seemed to feed the other
In honor of June VSN here's mine: Beach Bash
