IC18 - Purse (Inspiration Challenge)
Inspiration Challenge #18 (Don't forget to add IC18 to your keywords please!)
I'm posting a tad early because I won't be around on Saturday - I'll be helping my mom with stamp camp (keep your fingers crossed that the surprise pop-up card doesn't take forever to complete). I'll check in lunch time though.
Today's inspiration comes from a purse (well a magazine ad for a purse as I would never actually be able to afford such a purse).
Feel free to translate the inspiration item into a card, a scrapbook page, or another project. Be inspired by the colors, layout, theme, or anything else -- this is up to your own interpretation!
I was hoping to see this tonite! I like your card, especially the beads; I keep wanting to try those after seeing a few cards by Joni using beads! This might be my chance!

I used to post on Friday afternoons as to not post on the same day as the Scrapping challenges, but those challenges moved to Friday so I took up Saturday. I just like keeping you all on your toes
Ooo, this looks like fun. I love that western look. Sure wish SU had some great western stamps. I might have to get out my leather! That is so cool to stamp on.

Oooooooo........hmmmmmmmm. OK... I think I see something! I will have to wait til this afternoon. I need to head out this morning! Can't wait to see what everyone does!
Thanks Karen!
Hey Karen! I will be playing in my first round today. I hope to be able to play on a regular basis. I like the idea of forcing myself to be more creative with the things around me. I need a nudge in that direction.
I am so glad for the "Divine" intervention that led to me discovering this challenge.
I will post my pic soon... take it easy on me, I am new. LOL

Welcome. Don't worry, we won't be "hard" on you. These have been some really fun challenges. Definitely makes you think a bit. Can't wait to see what you come up with.
OK, here is what I came up with. It is pretty simple but when I saw the purse I thought of faux stitching and sweet spot. Then, I liked the way Cole Haan was written so I added "friendship" with the silver eyelets. It is a simple card but most of mine are.

Here's my first card for the challenge Karen. I didn't replicate the purse either. It made me think of the old "wild" west, so this is what I came up with. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
I loved the inspiration picture this week...there just seemed to be so many possibilities for it! This is my first card and unfortunately I probably wont get any more posted before Monday due to tomorrow being no upload day but I plan to have fun playing with this again tomorrow! Thanks so much! OK..... I lied! I just couldn't go to bed with out finishing this and posting it before Sunday!
I think this is THE most challenging challenge...... you really have to come up with everything on your own. Thanks Karen for really testing me! Let me know what you think! Thanks for looking!
I started with marking the back of the card with the arcs and stitching. Then measured and punched out the holes for the eyelets. Next came sponging all of vanilla cs with VersaMark and covering it with clear ep and embossing. Heated the ep and followed by sponging Creamy Caramel ink over the ep. Then I set the eyelets. I think this card is a little lacking, but have tried more ribbon, gold wire and some different hardware, but it distracts too much. Am open to suggestions if you have any.
I found that sewing circles on paper is harder than it would seem. Paper just doesn't turn under the needle as smoothly as fabric. But I liked the circle pattern on the inspriration photo.
Thanks Kthaman for a way to make a leather-looking background. My Faux Leather Card

These have been wonderful entries this week. I know next weekend is Easter, but I will have a challenge, so I hope many of you will be able to play again. Thanks to all you joined in this round!!
I held off until this morning in support of No Load Sunday. Here is my pitiful insoiration purse. I was not creative enough to come up with a fabulous card as I have seen here, but just a humble little Easter purse. I had a small purse template and I felt inspired to do an Easter purse. I hope that counts. Thanks for looking. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
