Inspiration Challenge #11 (Don't forget to add IC11 to your keywords please!)
Today's inspiration comes from a stain-glass type lamp (thanks mom!). I've attached two photos of the lamp -- one using my flash so you can see the colors and design; the other with the flash off so you can see how it looks glowing (oooh ahhh).
Here is a link to my card: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...p?photo=225394
I took my inspiration from the thick glass pieces that make up the dragonfly eyes (I know, hard to see in the pictures, but I got to see it up close, so you'll just have to believe me ) -- I decided to create my own broach (also hard to see in the scan).
Now let's see what you are inspired to make -- and tell us what your inspiration was when you post your card.
Feel free to translate the inspiration item into a card, a scrapbook page, or another project. Be inspired by the colors (rich, earthy), the theme (lamp, dragonfly, etc.), or anything else -- this is up to your own interpretation!
Oh no Karen, you've inspired me to go to the basement and create with stained glass although I've never done a lamp, just panels, kaleidoscope and small stuff. What a pretty piece of art this is and the mind is working already for a card, thanks for posting!

That would be cool Rox -- make sure you post when done (even if it isn't something stamped) -- I love stained glass works!
I got it done earlier today but it's taken some time to get it approved. I just read that Beate is having a busy weekend of approvals with Jenn away.
I really enjoyed working on this card today. I love the inspiration photo and could play off it with an idea that's been in my head for a while now. Funny how your photo just made it all come together! Thanks Karen, this challenge is always fun!
I thought the melted crayon background would be just the thing for emulating the look of the glass pieces. It was just the background effect I was looking for.
I'm not as happy with the finished product as I thought I would be (the picture in my mind was better than how it turned out IRL). I'm not sure what to do differently, though.
