Challenge Title: My Hero
Hostess: bfinlay, aka Bridget
Keyword: HYCCT1408
Date: Wednesday, October 8, 2014
During tough times, some people give us courage and hope by just being who they are! Your challenge is to make a card inspired by someone who is a hero to you, and tell us how they've positively influenced you. Your hero might be someone from the past, for example Abraham Lincoln, Anne Frank, or Eleanor Roosevelt, and you could use a quote on your card. Your hero might be someone close to you like a friend, teacher, colleague, or family member or a well known person you've admired from afar. Whoever you choose, your card could reflect something about their character, their job, or their life. Here's your chance to make a card with any theme or any technique, it just requires that you give a little thought to who has been a significant influence in your life! Be sure to tell us why you chose the person and why they're a hero to you!

Thank you for participating in this card drive!
And thank you to my fabulous sample makers, Lori, Gail, Dina, Kathy, Fran, Lee, Kathleen, Stacy and Lydia!
When I posted it was around 7:15 am ( same time as Duluth) I actually lived in Duluth for a while as a young adult and visited there frequently as a child.
The first couple of cards are coming in for the live challenge! I'm excited to see what everyone comes up with and I hope we get to know each other a little bit through participating in this one!
I was going to try for a better photo today. Ha! I don't know what weather you've got, Bridget, but I got off the bus in pouring rain! I might still try another one when I get a card or two made this afternoon.
I've added a direct link to this chat thread in my upload, and here's my HYCCT1408 Biker Hero.
Pouring rain up north too, Sabrina! And your photo is great, looks like it was taken in good light!

I can't make up my mind. I have some great quote stamps by Abraham Lincoln and he is my favorite president but of course, my real hero is Jesus!! Then next are our soldiers! See my problem???? "Did you ever have to make up your mind, say yes to one and leave the other behind..." You know that song?

Maybe I'll do all three! I will have to do something pretty simple though. I will have time tonight but this morning if I can get on the stick, I'll get one done!

Bridget, your challenge is just awesome. I have already seen some inspiring cards and touching stories. Should be a great day in the gallery for us. Thanks.
Thanks, Bridget, for such a wonderful challenge. I created a card in memory of the greatest hero a girl could ask for - my Dear Mom. Today is three months since she went home to be with the Lord. Here is my card:
Oh my goodness, I've already shed a few tears reading through your challenge descriptions as you share who has inspired your cards! This is such a beautiful way to be grateful for the people who've made a difference in our lives!
I have to head out for the evening now - it's 6:30 pm and I'm going to a party celebrating the final of a British TV programme called The Great British Bake Off - it's a contest/reality thing and the final tonight includes two men and a lady - we're all watching it together to cheer them on! And eat our own baked stuff, of course. I made a chocolate layered torte with pink whipped cream to bring in honour of October and HYCCT! I'll be back to check out the gallery before bed!
Looking forward to getting some time to play this afternoon! I know the perfect person, who has already battled breast cancer and is a survivor and one of my favorite people. I already know exactly what I am gonna do too! Thanks for this challenge!
Now it's 12:30 am in the U.K. and past my bedtime. I'll be back in the morning to check out what you all have been working on while I saw logs! Can't wait, because each and every card in this challenge has just warmed my heart!
My hero is my Dad. He was Mom's caregiver for two years and SO dedicated, even though he is not in great health himself. The card reminds me of my Mom. She had a bathrobe that color...
