HYCCT1231 A Walk in the Woods Chatter Thread
Challenge Title: A Walk in the Woods
Hostess: Understandblue aka Lydia
Keyword: HYCCT1231
Date: Wednesday, October 31st, 2012
I walk every day. A long, long walk. And sometimes I geocache which makes something I love even more fun. I love being outside. I love the peace it brings to my day, I love the solitude, I love the birds and the animals I see, and I love all the hidden green spaces in my town.
I think one of the most difficult things about being in the hospital is being cut off from nature, and that is the inspiration for my challenge. I want you to bring all the majesty and beauty of the outdoors to a lady who may be stuck inside for a while while she's not feeling well.
For this challenge use any outdoorsy inspiration. I am including some pictures from my daily walks which you may also use if you'd like, but just let your imagination and your environment be your guide.
Thank you all for being here this month - it means so much to so many, and I'm so grateful for your art, your enthusiasm, your empathy and your time. You've made October so special for all of us at Splitcoast. xo.

Oh Lydia it was fun & inspiring just knowing that we can make the patients happy. I'm glad I was able to participate again this year. Some people don't understand how I do it because of my full time job, kids, hubby & life in general. I think it's a great challenge, I'll work on this after work before doing my walk or after trick or treating.
What a way to end a great 31 days...I cant think of a more perfect challenge for today Lydia~ Will work on mine after I take my black lab Jenna for along walk to get inspired.

Thank you for such a fun challenge, Lydia. Thank you from me too for all your hard work behind the scenes.
Without your patented Stranger Danger Airlock installed here I was held up a bit in finishing this off! A Bird in the Woods
I wanted to use a photo from our weekend over in the west, but it wasn't coming together for me - luckily this mask arrived yesterday and bailed me out.
Since I'm a bit behind with my blog and can't yet link there for my photos of Coole, here's some lovely Irish woodland for you - Coole Forest Park as in WB Yeats' Wild Swans at Coole. Only we didn't see any swans this time, not even on the lake .
I am going to feel a little lost as the HYCCT challenges wind down. I've had so much fun and this is the perfect challenge to end the month. Beautiful inspiration in the gallery already this morning!

Lydia- thank you for the wonderful challenge! We used to enjoy walking in the snow in Montana to look at the decorated houses for the holidays. I used SU's The More The Merrier for my snowmen, and Hero Art's Sending Holiday Cheer for my houses and sentiment. Added a CM tree border, and a red sparkly cord. Here's Trees and Cheer

What beautiful scenery you get to see! I generally start my day with a run and end my day with a bike ride. We are lucky to have trails that go along creeks. It's pretty, but I can't say I like the poisonous snakes and alligators that go along with it.
Thank you for another fun Hope You Can Cling To.
Here is my card.
This was my first year participating in this challenge and I so enjoyed it!! I know all the patients will so enjoy all the cards that each of us made especially for them. Thanks to all of the challenge hostesses for coming up with some awesome and fun challenges and for all the hard work you do behind the scenes. I know it must be time consuming. So with thal being said, here is my card for today's challenge:
