Challenge Title: Start Spreading the News!
Hostess: dini aka Dina K
Keyword: HYCCT1212
Date: Friday, October 12th, 2012
The emphasis on breast cancer screening during the month of October is all about AWARENESS.
Early detection of breast cancer signs can be key in successful treatment, and we all want to look out for each other.
The thought of awareness got me singing a little show tune – Start Spreading the News!
Let’s kick this challenge off with some flair, and make a card inspired by a show tune!
Any song (title or lyrics) from any musical or movie will do – just let us know what song inspired you!
You can click HERE for some lists to get you started.
I used one of Mo Manning’s gorgeous digital images on my card, inspired by the song “Embraceable You” from An American In Paris.
I love this image so much, and I love the solidarity and support that it conveys.
Thank you so much for your willingness to be an encouragement to someone who needs it!!
TWO lucky winners will be drawn from all my participants to receive a free digital stamp from Mo Manning's shop, Mo's Digital Pencil!
Be sure to check back after the upload deadline to see if you're a winner!!
Challenge Summary: Create a card inspired by a song (title or lyrics) from a musical or movie.

Here are some samples to get you started - special thanks to Ardyth, Tam, Bridget, and Judy for helping me out!!
Yay! I couldn't stop myself today - but then I have this undying habit of breaking into song if something reminds me of particular lyrics. I'm sure it must be endearing to someone...! LOL
Have fun with it! Your card doesn't have to include the words or title of the song, but make sure you let us know what song inspired you in your card description.
Dina- great challenge! As it's getting cooler, I am drawn to images with coats and hats today I was inspired by Patti Page's "(How Much Is That) Doggy In The Window" song- and used MFT's You Had Me At Woof stamp set, paired with SU's Tart and Tangy. Added some dc flowers, ribbons, smash tape and silvery paper for bling. Here's Love My Doggy

I was inspired by the lullaby like song- "Sweet Pea"- and did this card- using Stamping Bella's Baby Bella Pea stamp, along with some dc buttons and a flower, made out of the patterned inside of a business envelope. I crimped the background for texture, and added some ribbon and lace. Finished with a double twine tie. Here's My Sweet Pea

What an interesting challenge today Dina! I was inspired by "These Boots Are Made For Walking" by Nancy Sinatra. When you see my card, you'll see why Ms. Fastidious is more than capapble of walking all over cancer Thanks for taking a peek!

I was surprised at how few show tunes I know. Most on the list Dini gave us - I didn't even recognize. Then I found a few I knew, but couldn't think of an image that would go with them. So I settled on a long-time favorite - " Thank Heaven for Little Girls " sung with a French accent.
Here are the ones in my head that still want to be on cards.......
On the Street Where You Live
Till There Was You
Sunrise Sunset
Ooh, On the Street Where You Live! I could do something with that. I want to use a song from a show I was in way back in my community theater days so that works.

Well, not exactly a show tune, but a tune - Musicals are not my thing and when I read the challenge there was just good old fashioned music running through my head. Playing a little catch up having worked the last few days....ya'll are some really creative ladies. Here is my card - Have a great day.

Just wanted to pop in and remind everyone to double check your uploads to make sure your keywords are correct, and your cards are in the HYCCT gallery, not in your member galleries... if they are in your member galleries, you won't qualify for prizes, and I would HATE for anyone to miss out on prizes!!
Right now, there are 985 cards in the HYCCT gallery, and 144 ladies are participating!
