You can send any and all cards you'd like to.

For the challenges, however, each card needs to be unique and made just for the challenge.

Can someone please tell me the dates for this event. I am hoping to participate. I looked in the earlier posts and saw dates but they were last updated in 2012 so I'm just checking.

TIA and ...

Happy Crafting!

You can use whatever stamps you have . We do have a shopping list in this forum for anything that is a little out of the ordinary, but you'll be able to play with just basic supplies.

The challenges are posted each day - no later than 8 AM Central time.

Yes, regular white envelopes are fine. We ask for clear envelopes to protect them as people at the cancer center look through them, but we realize that's an expense, so if you can't do that, a ziplock is fine!

Every player is eligible for prizes.

You can make cards for any of the cards before the deadline, which will be posted with each challenge. The challenge runs the whole month so you have tons of time.

You can put them with just the flap over them or inside - your choice!

Of course you can use digis!

The most important thing is to make and mail them - they look forward to them so much and are amazed at the art they receive. So just have fun, don't worry too much and stamp and mail them!

I am sorry Lydia. But, I keep thinking all these question? Will we get to see the prize up front? Will where be some one around to help with questions or problem while the challenges are going on? I saw in the thread someone say there will be bonus challenges. will it say bouns challenges when it is posted? Or how will know that it is one of the bonus challenges? thanks friend

I just posted the prizes so go look

There is one challenge per day on most days. A few days, we might have more than one.

There aren't really any "bonus" challenges, but we do reserve the larger prizes for the group of people who has made a card for each of the challenges during the month.

How do you qualify to win a prize? Do you have to submit a certain number of cards or one for each challenge?

I just looked and apparently I won a prize last year and didn't even know it. Last year was my first time doing this challenge but this year I'm geared up and ready to go!
Can't wait for tomorrow so I can see the first challenge.

OK, so I'm on disability benefits, would not be able to afford to send to America, if I send the cards to Breast Cancer Care in the UK, would that be alright? I'll include a covering letter about the site, and what we're doing, but postage to the US is beyond me.

Also, I am currently between homes, would I still be able to post cards that don't have stamps used on them, as everything is boxed up and I can't actually find my inkpads.

One last question - I'm in the UK, if by some happy chance, I won, would I be able to donate the prize to somebody else who has taken part in the challenges?

Whoops, this is my first year participating in this project and I didn't see the note about "no religious", so my very first card I made had a scripture : ( I will make another appropriate card. I am just wading through the FAQ thread, so my next question may be in there as well, but I'd rather stamp than read all the posts, so here is my question:
What does "Hope You Can Cling To" actually mean/refer to?
Thanks, and now, off to check out today's challenges : )

I have a quick question - I know that our focus is obviously on breast cancer but can we include some ribbons for other cancers too? This has hit home for me recently because we've had two family members diagnosed in the last month. One with cervical and one with ovarian - both being treated at MD Anderson. So I was thinking that some for them could hit that card basket too

Oh how sweet!

The cards arrive at the breast cancer unit, but you can absolutely include whatever you'd like. Both families and patients use these cards.

okay, read all the questions and answers and still need some help:
As an Aussie, can I take all my cards to the Oncology unit in Royal Brisbane Hospital, as they are trying so hard to give my uncle as much time as possible, even though he was only diagnosed a month ago, he only has a few left!
The daily challenges - can we still do them after the date, or does that NOT count?
Can they be for ANY cancer, not just breast?
How and where do I post my cards?
Gentle Hugs, Stacey (sorry about silly questions!)

Howdy! No such thing as a silly question.

The deadline for completing all the challenges is November 7th - so you do not have to do each challenge the day it's posted

The purpose of the event is a card drive for MD Anderson patients and for our Aussie partner, so we prefer that in Australia, you send your cards to our partner - there's power in numbers!

It's a challenge for breast cancer awareness month, but the challenges are meant to inspire, not to create cards about cancer. We just want boxes of beautiful cards sent for the patients and their families to use and enjoy. Feel free to mail additional cards as well.

Should we be creating a spreadsheet with links to all of our cards? If so, what is the easiest way to do this. I know in the DTGD challenges I ended up redoing my list three times before I got it to work. I have Excel and Word 2007.

You can do that however you'd like.

How I do it is I make myself a copy of the Master Tracking sheet so I can keep track of what I've done.

And then just copy and paste each link? I think my problem last time had to do with my renaming each link. I think I will copy and paste and not mess with changing the link names.

Changing the link names is definitely not necessary - just paste them

I haven't been putting my name on the cards I have already mailed- should I be doing so to be eligible for prizes? There is of course my name on the large envelope I send every few days. Thanks!

I haven't stamped or signed any backs on my cards. I haven't mailed yet, so I could sign them, but that would mean opening the plastic envies and I hate to do that. Is it okay if I don't have my name or initials on the cards I send? I will put my name and username on the packages as I mail them.

I wouldn't worry about it, Kathy.

I read through all the questions again and didn't see this one answered: If I have a previously made card (already shared in personal gallery) that fits a challenge can it be used for the challenge?

No.

You may MAIL any cards from any time, any place, but you may not submit a previously made card for any of the challenges.

Thank you for asking!
