Coupon report: Got a bottle of masking fluid. Now, what do I do with it? Any suggestions?
There was a recent thread about masking fluid
I'm here at the house with NO ONE ELSE! Don't know what to do with myself. If I'd know they were going to all be gone tonight I might not have spent the afternoon stamping down in the cave by myself ...made 5 cards today though!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm off, now. Gonna get messy. Where's that toothbrush??!

My hubby loves me! I had been in a thrift store the other day (was in a big hurry and wasn't even supposed to stop) and in the checkout lane I saw a Vagabond marked for $140. Didn't have enough info about regular retail pricing or time to check it out so I passed. Of course after I looked online and saw the deal it was I was kicking myself....it was also 40% off that day. This morning, my DH and I woke early for a Saturday and all I could think about was that Vagabond calling my name and that it was 50% off at Goodwill today. Long story short, with Carpal Tunnel and now either arthritis or tendonitis in my Right hand the idea of an electronic die cutter sounded really appealing and my DH took me and we grabbed it for $70!!! Such a deal, reminds me of the time my kids bought me an electric can opener for Christmas and I was so excited because the Carpal Tunnel had made opening cans (and feeding our family of 8 there were a lot of cans to open) really difficult for me. Most people wouldn't have been thrilled with one, but for me it showed their thoughtfulness and care for me.
Well, my joy has turned into frustration....looks like the previous owner messed up the machine. The lower roller isn't level so when I'm trying to run things through they aren't cutting or embossing in the middle Goodwill had told me I could return it for store credit if anything was wrong, but that doesn't fix my disappointment. I will try calling Sizzix on Monday but man I'm bummed.
Hope they can get your Vagabond fixed up. It makes me sad when people use Goodwill as a dumping ground for items they know are broken or totally worn out. I just can't be that way.
I have participated in HYCCT before, but on a super limited basis. Since I have been trying to get more comfy with CAS style, I have decided to try to do more challenges this year to practice. Cause if I don't keep most of them CAS, I know I won't have time to participate.
I lost my mom to Ovarian cancer in 2009 and a dear friend to lung cancer in the late 90's. Such a horrible disease in all of its variations. And, I figure with 1 in 8 chance of developing breast cancer by age 80, I really need to do what I can to get involved. In the Spring I do a local cancer walk to raise money and now I am doing this to try and add a little bit of sunshine to those folks and their families who are in the thick of the battle of their lives.
It warms my heart that so many SCSers are willing to give of their time for this worthwhile project.
Hi friends.
It's my turn to ask for your prayers. I am having emergency surgery tomorrow morning on a herniated disc in my neck. I'm on some big pain meds so can't type much but I so believe in the power of prayer, and need all the help I can get. I am so sad- I think this will really limit my involvement this year. But I should still be able to enjoy the chatter and gorgeous galleries
Oh gosh, Vicki. I completely understand this trial. Hang in there. Prayers for you for sure.
Girls, I am 'one' with the kitty on this liquid mask schtuff. Me'loves my Eclipse tape for masks.
I can't find Eclipse locally. I'm in the middle of my first experiments with the liquid schtuff-- spattered up my kitchen island really well. In theory, it'll rub off.
Meantime, I'm off to do some demo line dancing. The Powers That Be had the audacity to schedule a local celebration on National Card Making Day. Priorities, people!! So, our line dancing group is to "perform" for the Covered Bridge Festival. We're on the program as the Sweet Old Ladies.
Later.

Line dancing is so much FUN! I can't remember any steps now ... but love to get out there & pretend that I do! lol
Yeah ... I've always ordered Eclipse tape. M's & JoAnn's are just not fully into cardmaking for sure. (Shhhhhh! MHO only ... )

Such a beautiful day, here. Dancing on concrete, out in full sun-- What fun, but careful to pick up our feet. The concrete was rough for traction. NOT for dancing. And thankfully it wasn't raining. Our main competition was the "punkin' chuckin'" event. How far can you catapault a pumpkin? A little disconcerting, seeing flying pumpkins on the other side of the park. The old time fiddlers were before us. Gotta love life in a small town.
Now, back to my schtuff project. Where to order Eclipse?

Well now I'm gonna be sad!
I've just checked the following for Eclipse tape (by Judikins) ... and all of these sites say they're sold out: Amazon, Ellen Hutson, Simon Says Stamp, Barnes & Noble (yes ... really!). It looks like eclectic Paperie may have some in the strips. Guess I'll need to be very very frugal with my roll.
Good Morning Peeps!!!! It's FINALLY my Friday... I slept a bit longer today... Apparently this 2nd week back after Vaca is whooping my hiney!!!!
SO... finished my card for Giovana's challenge and now must head to the shower! Man I REALLY need to find my Royal parents that left me on a door step, you know, they were young, in love, parents didn't approve of their being together then here comes me, so they did the best they could for me... but I REALLY know that by now they are SERIOUSLY regretting leaving me behind and I am REALLY regretting having to work!!!!

Sure sounds like fun to me. My friends in New Hampshire took me to their pumpkin festival when I visited one time. Tons and tons of pumpkins - carved, cooked, whatever! The line dancing sounds like fun too, altho maybe not on that surface. I would have loved hearing the fiddlers.

Yeah, and I've got some property in the Everglades to sell you when you find your "royal" parents. LOL!
I love the concept of HYCCT, and am participating for the first time. I've done the first four projects and uploaded them. It's just that awareness is still surprisingly tender. Of course, everyone's been touched by cancer. In the past ten years, I've lost a sister, cousin, a very good friend, two classmates, a pastor, and a pastor's husband to cancer. Two other good friends are now battling the disease.
Nine years ago, shortly after my sister died, I was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer. I've been SO blessed that it was found so early, contained and treated successfully. However, every mammogram, every Relay for Life, whatever, still brings tears. Mostly gratitude, but also grief.
So. I keep a box of tissue close to the crafting space, and please forgive an occasional drip.
Hugs to you, Brenda -- I'm so sorry for all you've struggled through. I know how hard it is to lose a sibling. There is nothing quite like it - it's like losing part of your childhood memories as you siblings are the only ones who share your perspective...

Surgery is over -- and I'm already back home. And so thankful! My pain is very manageable, much better than before the surgery. My left hand is still numb so it makes typing and hold things very interesting. Hubby won't let me into the craft room yet as I tend to fall asleep every ten minutes. I can't drive or do too much for three weeks but I may be able to stamp (as long as only use supplies wthin arm length - talk about limited supply challenges LOL)
Thank you for the prayers -- keep them coming!!

So glad you're already feeling positive effects from your surgery, Vicki!
Leave the stamps aside as the Dr. says ... even if it does feel like "watching paint dry" is the only thing left. During my down time a few years ago, I finally had the time to actually "read"! lol Hang in there!

I got two rolls of 6" Eclipse Tape from blockheadstamps.com about three weeks ago. I just checked but I see that they currently only have the 22 mm strips currently in stock. But at least here's another potential source. I guess I got extremely lucky. BTW their shipping is very fast.

It's a combo of freezing and windy here - so weird for us at this time of year. But the acorn crop and my kitties' early winter coats predicted it so guess I'll have to buy some pants - LOL.
