First time playing over here at SCS - what a worthy cause. I'm actually aiming for all challenges although I started late (story of my life). My Mom survived breast cancer. Have a neighbor going through treatment at present. Hope these cards can bring some quiet moments of joy to the recipients. Great work everyone has done on the challenges!
I am down to the last two challenges and hope to get to them today! What a great cause and this is my first HYCCT participation! Thanks to all the hosts for your hard work! I have been trying to comment on the first 40 posts of each challenge! Great cards to all those that I have seen!
That means I owe you lots of fun smilies!!!! Here's a random assortment!!!!
I like the trailer park one - it has a puppy in it!
And LOL@'who ate the pie - I want names people!'
And that giraffe one is SOOOOOO cute! Don't think I have seen that one before!
My all time favorite one though is the one where the smiley is just dancing around in the circle - because that is the one that represents how I feel when I am happy or excited about something, LOL!
this was my first time playing, i have finished 24, 11 more to go, hopefully will be done by the 7th. i truly enjoyed doing them, i don't think i have ever made so many cards in a month. hopefully will finish three a day and be done by this weekend.
Life got busy, then I was out of town, so missed the last few challenges. I have 5 left and should be able to get them done by Monday, the 5th. There are 3 that will take me some extra thought and time, and 2 that I should be able to do quickly. I'm so jealous of those who have kept up and already posted all their links. I'll get there.
Thanks to all the hostesses and everyone who made HYCCT12 possible. And thanks to everyone who participated and posted their beautiful artwork.

Ha! I am loving the smiley dangling from the Christmas lights. We are pathetic Christmas lighters! Last year I caught my hubby trying to just let a strand dangle down the 3rd of 4 front windows. I had to give him my "mommy means business" voice and told him to make the strand stretch to the 4th window!!!! LOL Which he did. What was he thinking???
Ok, well...if I want to get a few more cards made....I need to turn around and go to the craft desk instead of sitting here chatting!!!
We early voted today since DH is going to be out of town next week...now my day feels kind of blown!!!!

I was bumming -- my left hand is still numb from spinal surgery Last night I cut the bejeepers out of my RIGHT hand when I was opening a can - don't ask. I'm an idiot Now I've got two bad hands. I've typed this a gazillion times - not easy to type with two bad hands LOL!

Oh, Vicki! I'm sorry you damaged your other hand. You might want to learn how to type with a pencil between your teeth. LOL!

Oh Val -- I am just an idiot!!! This is why my girlfriend who is a nurse brings me steri-strips home from the hospital. I'm always needing to patch myself up!

Such a bummer to injure the good hand when you're having trouble with the other already....as one who has carpal tunnel in both hands I can completely commiserate Vicki.
Bittersweet moment when I posted the last card for the year's challenges. I just put 20 more cards and 1 treat bag into a box and will post them this afternoon. I always enjoy making cards, but it is especially meaningful to make them for a cause!
DH is wanting to send cards to all who stopped in at our Fall Festival at church last night so that will keep me busy for a while...not sure how many addresses we got, but with 323 people in attendance it could be quite a few!
Thanks for the wishes about my dog. I'm trying to keep it in perspective. Pepper was 16 and wasn't expected to live out the month of May but had one extra summer, including a camping trip, and an early snow last week. We had the vet come to the house and she went to sleep in her favorite spot in the yard. All in all, not a bad way to go. We were glad to have trick or treating to help keep our minds off it yesterday.
Hope to finish my remaining challenges tonight. I know what I want to do even so it will hopefully go quickly. It will probably take me a whole month to put my room to rights.

Oh no! I think we are related Vicki! You are trying to steal that gold medal for clutziness away from me, aren't you? (FEEL BETTER SOON!!)

If she had to go, it at least sounds like her parting was a nice one, though I am still very very sorry for your loss (literally, I am sitting here bawling like a baby, I love the furbabies). You are an amazingly strong person to be able to continue to craft at this difficult time. I cannot craft at all when Ty is even the least bit sick. It tears me up inside. I hope Pepper is frolicking around with perfect weather in doggie heaven and I hope happy memories bring you comfort.
Brenda....oh Brenda!!!....wait for me!!!....don't let the bus drive off....I'm running as fast as my fat legs can go....I need a seat right up front on that crazy bus.....LOL!!!!....
My box will contain several cards from design work that wasn't required to be sent to the stamp companies. This is a great way to get pretty work put to a loving effort! Search through your samples if you tend to be a "collector".
I'm done!!! still have to post one that I made 2 of and sent one to west coast as she peeks in here....so it will go up prolly Sat. Now I can go back through the galleries and drool over all the fun gorgeousness there....and get back to doing some of the other challenges...
When I send my box, it will be padded with lots of extras from the stash box also...made more Christmas cards than I need as I intended to give some to auntie as always, but sadly she passed the first of the yr. so now they will go to someone else that will use them...

So, sorry about your dog. We had to put our 16 year old dog to sleep in Aug. I still miss her.
