Howdy ladies! I haven't played in these challenges before (life was crazy last year), but sweet Amanda Havon invited me to join and play. I had such an awesome time playing in the DTGD challenges a couple months ago, so how could I pass this up??
Question - I don't have any "breast cancer" stamps or anything of that nature. Do I need to go shopping? What else do I need for these challenges??
I only have 2 or 3.... so I'm HOPING that I don't need to shop... lol!
ONE of them is from my goodie bag from Unity!
Welcome, it's my first time too!!! DTGD made me do it... what a BLAST that was....

No no not at all! There are all types of challenges. I don't own any cancer related stamps and this will be my third year hosting. We're all very lenient with the challenge rules too Join in and enjoy
I wouldn't worry about going out and buying anything. I've found that you can get very creative - I've resorted to punch art (one of my favorite things to do when I don't have a suitable stamp - it's amazing what you can do with punches) and even clip art. I've computer generated my own sentiments, and so on and so on.... The challenges are meant to be fun!
Looking so forward to this again this year and the recipe thread is awesome. Hugs to our fellow stampers who are currently treating this disease, to the survivors, and especially to the loved ones of those lost to this terrible plague.
Holly, by the name of your blog, I'd say you prolly already have everything you need. You don't have to have specific stamps or die cuts. Of course there are also many enablers around here who will show up to the party with something that we'll all HAVE to have so shopping may be needed later on....teehee....well, and there is also all the food shopping you will have to do cuz this is the eatingest bunch of gals ever and we like to discuss goodies along with the card making....
I do have a ribbon cut for cricut that I could cut you several in pink if you wish. Just pm me your snail mail and I can get it to you before the start.
OMG. My house smells like IHOP. I will have sweet dreams tonight thanks to you, Lydia. My DH could not stand to wait until I had time to make the bacon jam (The HOPE You're Hungry Recipe Box post #2) so he made it today. All I have heard is what he could put it on. I think we've imagined this highly addictive stuff on everything from bagels to flip-flops. Our house will never be the same now. Thanks.

OMG isn't it the best stuff ever????
My fave ways to have it are:
1) Grilled cheese layered like this: one piece Havarti, bacon jam, avocado, 1 piece sharp cheddar - OMG
2) Warm small amount the cold jam in the microwave for like 15 seconds and serve on top of cream cheese on a cracker
3) on warm brie on a cracker
4) by the spoonful
I was thinking of making this and filling little tart shells maybe as a dollop over goat cheese?
Is it something I could make ahead of time? I'm thinking it might be a good treat for my Halloween party.

Victoria --- is it you that had the mother of all Halloween parties last year??

Um, the only problem with making it ahead of time is not eating it!!
They were good. I am going to go a little easier on myself this year for desserts. Taffy Apple pizza and maybe cupcakes. Dinner will be a penne with sausage and roasted garlic bechemel that was from a cooking light magazine years ago. It's called Dracula's Revenge lol. I'll make hotdog mummies for the kids. There will be salad and maybe witches finger breadsticks.
Yes - my life is divided into BEFORE I heard about those cupcakes and AFTER I heard about those cupcakes.
This years cupcakes will be (well I think they will be) red velvet with cream cheese frosting and I'll decorate them with two bloody puncture wounds on the frosting
Can you tell I have much love for Halloween?

Sounds fantastic! Halloween is my favorite holiday... as much fun as Christmas with out the stress and overwhelming expectations. Our neighbors have an awesome Halloween party each year - last year my dh and I went as Cake Boss and a cake. I'll have to see if I can post a picture. I made the cake with felt, hot glue & hula hoops LOL!

Hi everyone! I think I may have done a challenge or two last year - I can't remember - such is my life lol!
Looking forward to the challenges and I have already had my head in the recipe section - Bacon Jam?? I don't think I can go there Lydia......I will live vicariously through you lol
I'm going to post "Pasta Carbonara" - two of my favorite things Pasta and Bacon - can't go wrong!
Hi just wondering if you have any players from Australia playing in the challenge?
Cheers
I think we had quite a few last year, and if I remember correctly, you can donate your cards to an Australia-based breast cancer organization rather than sending to the US and so you can save on postage.
Hi everyone! I think I am going to have to clean up my stamp space in the next few days or I won't be able to find anything pink to use! Can't believe it's only a few days away!
