I STILL haven't done the Chicken Soup challenge, I think my hours are catching me, my front porch is my BFF right now, I just veg on my phone playing words with friends with my son who is either sitting right next to me or in the house... LOL
I am SUPER excited about doin a lil kissing though, it's a technique I have NEVER done and have always wanted to!!!!
Alrighty, it's work time... **sigh** tomorrow I KNOW I won't get them completed as I have to go it 2 hours early to cover a vacancy due to training.... Don't EVEN get me started on this one...

Is this anything like having to work extra because we have 2 on maternity leave and the director suddenly decided to have elective surgery?!?!? GRRRR!!!! Yep, I understand this one...
OK, I'm a card down now... I woke up headed for the porch with my coffee and WAHOO... BLOCKING the door (not a good thing with a full cuppa and closed eyes) was this box about 3 feet tall 2 feet wide and about 1 1/2 feet deep.... GUESS WHAT IT WAS????
SO, I spent the day drooling over it and posting pictures of my BABY on FB!!!! My little crafting group all ordered the silhouette, but I'm computer dumb so I'ma thinkin that is NOT for me... OMGOSH!!!! I LOVE THAT BLUE MACHINE!!!!!!
YAY! Yippee! I'm surprised you could tear yourself away from your new toy to post here. I'm glad you made the right choice by getting the machine that suits your style.
Gail - I'm dying to try those pumpkin scones also -- don't they sound awesome?
Val -- how's the foot?
Pat -- I'm a gazillion behind - 11 doesn't sound so bad.
Sheri -- you chicken!! Avoiding NY because I'm behind the wheel again -- although I'm sure my husband would think you were smart LOL
Vicki - Thanks for asking. It is healing way too slowly for me. It was actually hurting worse yesterday, but was a little better again today. I'm remaining hopeful for a full recovery soon.
I'm caught up - if I get today's card made, and I should be able to keep up through Saturday, but then it all falls apart. I don't see how I'm going to get October's Christmas cards done in the next few days either. I haven't given a thought to today's hycct challenge as I worked, pet sat, and made phone calls. Just now getting a chance to sit still for awhile.
Sheri - No way that I would want to drive in NY either! Fort Worth is bad enough. I don't do Dallas. If I can avoid it, I don't do downtown Fort Worth either.

Hi everyone,
Boy when I said I had to work all day I didn't really know how long the day would be. I was too tired to even think of stamping tonight. Left the house at 5:50am and got back from work at 8:30pm. But did spend a little time looking at the gallery. Ladies ya'll are making some very fancy and special cards this year!
Val - so the recipe came with your dutch oven?
Gail - yes I am glad to have some of the uploading done. Now to just gfet the rest of the cards done. I'm hoping to do several tomorrow. I have some ideas - hopefully they will come together quickly.
Vicki and Val - I hope you both are starting to feel better. Remember to just take it easy though.
Have a great sleep everyone - I'm off to get some!

I'm 14 behind people so you can all feel better about your totals! And there is no sign of a great catch-up time in the near future. We won't even talk about other crafting that's supposed to be happening. Project Life? Yeah, 9 months behind! That's how I roll.
Val, hope your foot heals quickly!!
Aw, Connie, that's sweet!
Kelli, you crack me up! So glad you love your machine! I love that it does everything, I'm just not sure I want a tool that weighs as much as my 4 year old so I can't decide between it and the Grand Calibur. Which is fine as I don't have a place to put either one right now.
Ree, best wishes on your marathon!
Does anyone here read Momastery? Love that blog. One of their mantras is We can do hard things. Just popped into my head reading here.
Going to bake something and then see what kind of trouble I can get into today.

Paula, You are doing better than me!!! I am 21 behind!!!! I only have 7 done! 3 better then last year but there is still time to go so I am hopeful that I will get a few more done!!!!
woohoo on the 2100 cards!!! So awesome to see all the fabulous cards going to MD Anderson!
I haven't stamped all week and won't get a chance to until next week now that my mom's in town. I think I am having withdrawals! The challenges this week seem like lots of fun.

Oh Pat, what a long day that was. It tired me out just reading about it. I remember when I used to put in 14-hour days, but I was a LOT younger then.
No, to my surprise, the dutch oven didn't come with any recipes, so I went online to find some. There are not a lot out there.
I'm still dealing with the sore foot, which got worse Tuesday, but is better today. Thanks for caring.
Paula - Thanks for your concern about my slowly-healing foot.
Pat - I checked the recipe box thread and didn't see that anyone had posted the dutch oven bread recipe, so I posted mine. It takes time, but is well worth the wait.
I was surprised to see that a second challenge had been snuck in for 5:00 p.m. today. I'd better getting working on the first one!
Over 2100 cards posted so far. That's amazing! Congrats to all you crafty, artistic, and ambitious people! Do we know how many people are participating in HYCCT? I'd think it has to be at least 75 - maybe over 100???
Well, the good news is that I: got a wedding card made so I could get the gift in the mail, did school with the kids, baked 2 batches of banana bread, took my 20yo son out for coffee and CLEANED my filthy family room carpets (literally took all day and I still have a corner to do tomorrow)
Bad news....didn't get either challenge accomplished Of all days to pick to be busy I chose one with 2 challenges.
Well, my son is having a "sleepover" with his friend here so I'll probably be up late anyway so maybe I can at least get one done?
ARGH!!! TWO???? Lydia did you do that on purpose knowing we were struggling over here??? lol
Well, the good/AWESOME news is... ITS FRIDAY!!!!! I am off Fri, Sat, Sun and took a shift for a coworker on Monday so HE could have 2 days off also... so Monday is OT day for me... just a 6 hour shift, so not too bad... we are being told we may be going back to 12 hour shifts, 5 days a week, so yes, my work week will go from 53.35/wk to 70/wk
I will be able to get my DD her Mac Book Pro no problemo... SIGH!!!!!! BIIIIIG SIIIIGH!!!!!
SO, I am hittin the challenges HARD to tomorrow, I think I will just stay up when I get home and complete what I can and then go to bed at a "normal time. It will be another 33 hour day, but I gotsta do what I gotsta do to complete this challenge and my commitment to it and myself... it's the Year of KJ ya know!!!!
OK so WHAT THE HECK is TA TA TOE??? I get the tic tac toe part but how do we know what goes where? All I see are little red boxes, so I click on them anyway and it tells me I don't have permission to view... Can someone tell me left to right top to bottom???

I REALLY need to know what this is!!!! lol
A lot of people had trouble seeing that grid. Here's the entries in each box, left to right -
top row: Pink - Lace - Distressing
middle row: Buttons - Ribbon - Colored Image
bottom row: Patterned Paper - Two of something - Make it round

The schools in the area are on fall break so I decided to give our kids the day off too! So far 2 cards made, but I'm stopping to finish the carpet cleaning..ugh!
Well, I never did get back to stamping, but I had coffee out with my older girls and a friend; fixed supper and helped DD send out resumes, taught her to debone chicken breasts & make stock, and watched a movie with my DH. All in all a good day (I finally finished my family room too!)
Today's challenge should be interesting....no window die here or window images, but I've made a window box before so I should be able to manage.
Hope everyone is on the mend. It is hard to be patient when healing is in process.
I always struggle with window cards too...but I think I still have a die cut window I got from a teapotter tickle so lucky me....
And I have to share my huuuuuge score from JoAnn's yest....I had to go in for red thread to finish a dress and y'know they always put the stuff you drool over in front so you have to walk past....lol!!...well, I've never seen spellbinders at J's before so of course I stopped and looked and found clearance stickers on several!!! I got 4 nesties and 1 pendant die for only $30.00.....WOOOTWOOOT!!!
Have to make popcorn balls for fall festival before I can play but then I'm getting caught back up....

I'm out on a walk freezing to death! I'm teaching back to back watercolor classes today so no stamping for me, but some of the projects are challenge cards so I can catch up Monday. Tomorrow a group of friends and I are going to do Richard Garriott's spooky haunted geocaches which will take most of the day. It will take us all over the city and then you end up on his property.

That cache sounds amazing! Have a blast -- and share some pics!
Shari -- love popcorn balls and haven't had one in years -- yum!!
Gail -- could you teach me to bone chicken breasts?? I'm hopeless at it!
I actually made two cards last night and hope to do more today, if my pitiful physical condition allows it.

Hi all
Val, thanks for posting th dutch oven bread. I am going to try it tomorrow.
I am finally going to get back to stamping today in just a few minutes. I had to take a couple of days and finish up the trick -or - treat bags for my Grandkids. I made them bags out of fabric with a block in the middle each one with a different monster on it. A friend of mine makes the cutest quilts and pillows etc with things she designs on her Cricut. So I got her pattern and made a different monster for each of my grandkids. I'll post a picture on my splitcoast gallery. So now that the sewing is done for a bit, I can get back to stamping. Glad I'm not the only one way behind. I am looking forward to some of these challenges I have left. Talk to you all later.

Here are the links to the Trick-or-Treat bags I made. I couldn't figure out how to get attachments on here so I just put them in my SCS gallery. I still have one more to finish (it has Frankenstein on it) but that grandchild is not here yet so I have a little longer to finish it. Needed to get back to my stampin!
Pat - those treat bags are absolutely adorable!!! Your grandchildren will love them! Did you say you used the cricut for them?
I wish I liked to sew... but I really just don't. When I used to sew for my kids, my DH would take them out so they wouldn't hear their language their mother used at the sewing machine LOL!

Yes, the monsters were cut using the mini monster cartridge. I haven't sewn much for quite a few years. Mostly Halloween costumes for grandkids when their mom ran out of time. So I am just getting back into a little more sewing. I have decided to make myself a couple of skirts because I couldn't find anything I liked in the stores.
