I'm enjoying reading all your stories about being behind on the challenges. I'm behind by two, plus today's, so I don't feel too badly. I actually have hycct-20 done, but not photographed. 21 is just past the planning stage. Today's sounds easy, so maybe I'll catch up again.
I just found out I'm going to be away from computer and supplies the last 3 days (AAARRRGH!) so I'll have to finish those Nov. 1st or 2nd. They will definitely be CAS - whatever the challenge.
This morning I have a stack of 8 cards on my table that I need to sign and mail out, so that's priority No. 1. 4 birthday & 4 encouragement.

I'm so lacking in getting cards written and mailed! I will make a card with a specific person in mind and then never get around to mailing it. I'm sure you're about to bring smiles to 8 faces!!!!
I got two quick cards made this morning. Now some school work with the kiddos before we head off to their swim practice.
Anyone who has a mind for business there is a place that opened in our area that has a cool idea. It is a crafting studio/coffee house. You can bring your own crafts in to work on and they sell some supplies too. They have a separate classroom and several areas with tables, a computer area, couches, etc. And, they make really good coffees, teas, and chai. I've been enjoying spending time there while my kids are at practice...my problem is knowing what to bring with me...I either have too little or not quite enough!
I just bought the chevron folder a few weeks ago, I made a loud squeek in the store when I spied it... only a crafter would understand so I'm glad it happened at Jo's!

I'm behind by about a gazillion -- just can't stamp for that long until my neck feels better. But I'm a little better each day -- and yesterday I felt good enough to do something really stupid. I painted my front door. Not so smart to do 2 weeks after having spinal surgery on your neck. It didn't hurt while I was doing it, but I paid dearly today. Dumb!!! But I'm sure tomorrow it will be better. It's supposed to rain here tomorrow so that's perfect stamping weather!!

I got two cards made tonight - little girl isn't sleeping that well. So, I will be one less behind tomorrow than I was today. I have ideas for most of them, just haven't had the chance to go in there and take 45 minutes to make the simplest cards because of smudges, losing clear stamps I JUST had in my hand, crooked sentiments, etc.
For now, good night! Can't wait to see what tomorrow's challenge is!

Awww, Paula, hopefully tomorrow is a better day for the both of you!!!!!
Oh KelliJo - Don't you just love getting new toys?!!!
I did catch up with the last few challenges today (Monday), so I'm ready for tomorrow's. I have some non-HYCCT cards that I've made and need to upload, but just don't have the energy for that right now. Maybe tomorrow...

I am SO super EXCITED!!!!!! YAY for catching up!!! Man doesn't it feel nice?? I was down 3 a few days ago and it was a major bummer good mood killer... I was stressed I wouldn't complete the whole thing this year... I remember when I first saw this last year that those challenges piled up in a hurry and I was like, WHAT??? ALL OF THESE???? lol Now it's just automatic, I get up, get my porch time/fb time, get the cobwebs outta my brains and then head upstairs, complete my card(s) and then picture, edit and load, then hit the shower and come to work... LOL
The doctor told me that women are the worst patients -- we just can't let things go.
good news is that I am allowed to drive again - in limited amounts. So if any of you are in upstate NY and see a woman in a neck brace driving with a crazed look in her eye, you might want to stay clear LOL!

I'm so jazzed! I'm ready to upload today's spelling challenge. ANOTHER spelling challenge!! I was SO stuck, for a while, anyway. AND today's color challenge works for hycct, too. Love it when a plan works out!

UGH!
This past winter my 4 year old nephew was diagnosed with Leukemia. It's a long story but, I was talking to my neighbors and several of us decided to register for the Houston Half Marathon. We got in to the race! Well...all have dropped out but a very dear friend that I've known since high school and myself. She lives in a different state than I do. My training has been maked by injuries...knees, ankle, and lung issues. Now today, after my run, my hip is very sore! I am going to do this run if I have to crawl across that finish line! LOL!
My nephew is finishing up with a heavy round of chemo. Then he goes on maintenance.

That li'l kiddo has an auntie who loves him very much. Blessings on him (and you!) Just remember to take care of yourself, too.

Oh Ms. Vicki! It's easy to be fooled by how you "feel" so soon after neck surgery. My fusion was in 2001, and it was such a relief that I, too, thought I was surely healing fast & quickly! So, park the paint brush & other such grand ideas until the Doc gives the "alls-clear". Wow! You're driving soon, too! Embrace the brace til the healing is complete. ((((hugs))))

Hang in there, Auntie! You can surely be proud of your devotion & efforts, all to help your darling little nephew. {{{{hugs}}}} to both of you!

How quickly I found that out, Bev!! I also felt so much better after surgery -- it was amazing. Well, I didn't feel so darn amazing after I painted that darn door LOL! I will try to remain project-free for the next three months. It may kill me, however!
I didn't have a fusion - that's why I can drive so soon. I just had a herniated disc repair. He didn't want to fuse ---- yet (his words - something to look forward to)

The plan was to go up and make some more cards and get a little closer to being caught up. But that didn't happen. I decided to just upload a few of the ones I have already made and that has taken all night. Computer running very slow tonight and that is not helping at all. But at least this way I won't have so much to do to get them all linked up etc. So I think I have 11 to catch up if I include tomorrows which I woun't be able to look at until tomorrow night. Have to work all day tomorrow.
By the way where is the recipe for this dutch oven bread?

I KNOW you can do this... easy peasy... just remember all he's going through and your part is "easy" (says me in a chair and sadly out of shape....) I'm pullin for ya to do this with TOTAL POWER!!!!!!
OK, I'm a card down now... I woke up headed for the porch with my coffee and WAHOO... BLOCKING the door (not a good thing with a full cuppa and closed eyes) was this box about 3 feet tall 2 feet wide and about 1 1/2 feet deep.... GUESS WHAT IT WAS????
SO, I spent the day drooling over it and posting pictures of my BABY on FB!!!! My little crafting group all ordered the silhouette, but I'm computer dumb so I'ma thinkin that is NOT for me... OMGOSH!!!! I LOVE THAT BLUE MACHINE!!!!!!
By the way where is the recipe for this dutch oven bread?
Sometimes the uploading is the slowest part so you're doing well to get some of that done too! The recipes are in a separate thread this year: Hope You're Hungry Recipe Box and the Bacon Jam was a huge hit at my house! I can't wait to try the pumpkin scones...I just had one at Starbucks when I was out with my DD and we both loved it
Kelli-so excited for you ....enjoy that new toy!
I am going NO WHERE near more Crazy eyed drivers WITH NECK BRACES!!!! LMAO
YOU BE SAFE Silly Gal Pal!!!!!
I'm with ya on this one.....In fact I was thinking to myself as I read it....Dang glad that isn't anywhere near here.... I remember when growing up Dad used to hate driving here cuz of the horrible drivers....This is Sedgewick county and he used to call them Sedgewackers...cuz they reminded him of the highway mowers on bushwackers.... Now guess where I live...yep....smack dab in the middle of Sedgewackerville....so if you don't mind I'll post pone my vacation to New York...
Well, gals, I thought I was gonna catch up on the last 3 challenges last night, but..... My niece had a choir concert so the whole family went to her school to see the kids sing. It was sweet.
Soooo now I am behind by the last 4 challenges (just saw today's). At first I thought I'd catch up on Saturday, but I remembered I promised to go to my niece's soccer game on Saturday. LOL! Soooo now I'll just have to catch up when I can. LOL!
Hello ladies....it's always a good thing to get caught up, I like it that way then that way I could make extras as I need to on the easier ones. It's hard to get on the friends post to say hello throughout the day because of my finance job but that's ok. It's great to browse through the wonderful galleries, if only I had time to make comments on each & everyone's card. They are all just amazing.
All my friends are calling me an Angel plus a few customers that I see if I happen to pass by our lobby...that's a great feeling knowing that people are interested in what I'm doing & for a great cause. I tell everyone there's a lot of Angels here on SCS.
Keep up the Great work everyone & have a Pleasant day.
