Well, I just checked in to see squash splattered all over the microwave. Glad that happened to someone else and not me - Do we know who it actually happened to?
I love Iron Chef but I haven't seen but just a few minutes of one episode this round of competition. I never think to record it so I just don't get to watch it. Since I have to pay for these DVRs you'd think I would use them.
Now that my trip to the Post office is taken care of I am going to try to get some stamping done tonight. Last night I mostly cleaned up and put scraps, etc. away. I need to make a little birthday gift and card for a friend who is a librarian. So thought I would make a card with bookmark. I love the one that has a magnet and goes over the top of the card /book pages.
Congrats to the latest winners - simply beautiful- you could just download your stamps onto a disc and then take tohe disc to somewhere with a printer - friends house or something. Anyway congrats to all!
I guess I have to cook something for dinner tonight. My husband has ended up being home for an extra week and I really haven't cooked much. So I guess he deserves a decent meal tonight. Redfish and salad and some potatoes I think. He caught the fish a few weeks ago so I had better cook some for him. So guess I had better finalize the plan and get started on it soon.

Oh the Penny Black new release stamps are great - Love the ragged angel, the snowflakes and the Drummer Boy. Must get some of these. And I guess if I don't win them I'll just have too buy them.
Dini - your card with the bird is beautifully colored and designed. Do love the attachment of the buttons. I will try to remember that.
Would someone please come here and teach a marker class. I only have SU markers. Have been looking at copics. I'm sure if I had different markers I would be able to color better. LOL It has nothing to do with my skills - I'm just sure of it. LOL

I love that button treatment on your card, Dina. I've been staring at that and your gorgeous coloring for the past 5 minutes. Ahhhhhhh such beautiful eye candy!
Dina did you use OMS? or just straight pencils? You are the pencil queen, I swear.
I did not use OMS... on some parts of the background I used a Copic blender, but the rest of it is just pencils.
The button idea came from Pinterest (and shhh.... this is actually for a sketch challenge in December, but it was on my desk already when the Bird challenge came up and I couldn't help myself)..........

Pat, no joke - it may not have anything to do with your skills. I never learned how to color with markers until I started using Copics. I'm no artist, but definitely get better results with them. There are new markers out now that sound very similar to Copics but are less expensive. I think they have fewer color choices, but would be a good option if one can't afford the Copics (even on sale). I can't remember the name of those markers...
And you all are making me hungry and homesick with all your Thanksgiving recipes and dishes!
I tried to keep the tradition of celebrating it here but it just didn't work because everyone had go to work and school that day, it's all just business as usual! Thankful in my heart though!
