these are the ones I did when I did it... they all look OK but the first one with the mislayered layers still works but... it didnt have that WOW punch of the lined up panels... and you know what? I did not even see that I had it crooked until one of my friends said so haha...
Your cards are very pretty, Stacy, I especially like the snowflakes. And if it was perfect it wouldn't be hand crafted OR unique. That's my story and I'm stitching to it!

Yeah, that's about the only "stitching" I do, too! I bet y'all kwim.
Thanks, everyone for all the comments on our cards for the cheerleaders - we had fun and he has a tiny bit better understanding of what goes into creating our masterpieces

Is there a place to sign up for the all occasion challenge for next year? What about stamp to spend? I can find this year's threads but not next. I'm on my phone though.

I was going to say I don't know about the All Occasion Challenge, but then I found a 2013 thread
About Stamp 2 Spend, I found it under Splitcoast Challenges, down under all the daily challenges and VSN/VSBN's. There isn't a 2013 thread yet that I know of, but Ina (yellowrose46) is going to take over next year for Kelli (ScrappinCEO).

Thanks Toni! I did look, but just couldn't find it. I guess I'll just go introduce myself in the 2012 S2S thread? I want to give it another go! You've inspired me!

Just got back from seeing Lincoln with my history buff 22yo DS! WOW; it was a really good movie and if Daniel Day Lewis doesn't win the Oscar then something is wrong!
Oooooooohmygoodness - our power was out for 22 hours! Was so worried about our Thanksgiving leftovers, and the contents of our freezer, but everything seems to have survived.
Our dinner was fun, even though we had to sit in the dark! The power went out at 1, so really all that affected was my stuffing (moved from the crockpot to the oven) and the potatoes (mashed by hand instead of in the mixer). We had 21 people altogether, but there are enough leftovers for a few more meals. The kids loved having pumpkin pie for breakfast.

Can anyone tell me how or direct me to a site where I can find how to change the URL for, lets say, my gallery on SCS so that when I put it in my signature info it just says "My Gallery" instead of the long URL. I went to ShortURL.com but couldn't find anything there about how to customize it to what you want to call it.
Does that make any sense, I am very illiterate on this stuff, so any help would be appreciated.

Pat...when you are in your "edit signature" box:
...Type "my gallery".
...Using the left mouse button, highlight "my gallery".
...Then above that box you're typing in, there are two rows of icons. On the bottom row toward the right is one that is an earth with a chain link on it. Click there.
...A new box will pop up. There is an "http://" already there and it is highlighted. Do one of two things. Delete that one and paste in the address you want, or use that one and type in the address. Just make totally sure that you don't have two "http://" in the address.
...Click "OK".
Be sure to save your signature when you're done.
That's all there is to it. Easy peasy!
I watched the You Tube demo of the triple layer card and had alot of fun making it. I used a huge stamp so I just touched up the card edges a bit. Here's Pine Cone

I so want to see that, my boss says it's real good.

Heather, thanks. I've been wanting to do that too. Is this the same way you do the one word (or two) links to a card you've cased? Say for the FS or QFTD. Or even the IC site.

No video but basic instructions are in THIS post from when it was the TLC a while back.
Picture guide to editing and formatting signatures in the Help section of the site: Splitcoaststampers - Help
Karen, Dina's [url=... formatting will work in gallery write-ups.
Yikes, Dina! I can understand the worry over leftovers; my parents once lost their power on Christmas Eve. Glad it all worked out in the end.
Busy weekend here, but I don't seem to have missed too much!

Bugzi...the instructions I posted don't work in the description area of your card posts. SCS doesn't give us the option. You need to follow Dina's instructions:
Copy and paste your link.
Put this text in front of your link [ url= except don't put the space between the bracket and the u.
Put a close bracket ] after your link with no spaces.
Then type the text you want to be your link (example: This Card)
Then after your text for your link type [ /url ] but again, take out the spaces.
BTW, the reason we type the spaces in the instructions and tell you to take the spaces out when you're doing it in real life, is that the computer will read those instructions and act on them as if we really wanted it to! The result is weird. Trust me.

Thanks Diane and Dina for the URL instructions. I've been wondering how to do that for ages and just never had any place to ask. You guys are the greatest! I will go do that this afternoon. Off to church soon so have to get off here.

I thought about adding an apple also. We never did, but I think I'd like it. I'll use the turkey sausage for something else, perhaps for breakfast sausage. Or maybe in spaghetti sauce. The dry sherry sounds like a good ingredient. That's the "secret" ingredient in my home made spaghetti sauce. (shhhh...) I also dusted the top of my casseroles with grated Parmesan cheese. Added a nice flavor without detracting from the veggies and herbs.
I love parmesan, breadcrumbs and garlic on broccoli. My turkey day veggie casserole uses a velveeta cheese sauce and it has ritz crackers on the top. there's nothing healthy about it but that's on the top of hubbie's must have list. I don't think I even tasted it this year.
Hello ladies...my girlfriend came over & wanted to make Christmas cards even went to Archivers & bought a BIG SHOT, bought a lot of supplies but couldn't get anything right. She loved my cards I was making. Do you have any suggestions that I could help her with to get started. She said she loved seeing all my cards for this challenge & wanted to get back into it. She was kind enough to buy me a quilling beginner kit, that she's the expert in.
Hope everyone enjoyed their day, my DH just left for work & he'll be home around 3:00 then he'll have to start smoking our turkey. I told him I'll watch it while he takes a few cat naps.
well there's probably a billion cards posted here. does she have a favorite stamp or brand she wants to use? at least that could get you to a gallery to see what's been done with the stamp. or you can go to the Christmas and winter galleries for inspiration.
I made 12 Christmas cards tonight, it's almost 2:00 in the morning DH should be coming home soon to start the smoker for the turkey. I played with different embossing powders & ended up like the white...which means I'll just do a few of each & then some.
I like a tree scene too, and I like it embossed too. great minds...
here's a card I made that's pretty simple to make - maybe some inspiration for your friend
Here they are - I cut card bases, he stamped snowflakes with Versa Dazzle. I stamped images with Versa, he powdered, I heated. I die cut, he colored. The blue and gold match the girls' uniforms. They are 5th - 8th grade, I think they will love them!
perfect! that little guy knows how to get to the little girl's hearts. I see some big time crushes coming his way.
I need to get something done for VSN samples so I dont panic when it gets here... so I will peek in later
you know, I used to... say for the first 20 years of our marriage have the Christmas tree up yesterday without fail...(the last 3 years its been harder and harder) and its you know warm here and no snow. it feels "too early" so it doesn't feel odd to just go stamp instead...
moved to Florida from NJ, it never quite feels or looks like Christmas weather wise but I sure do love the warmth and a row of palm trees wrapped in lights looks really cool.

Thanks Quiltz, I'll be trying today when I do the FS.
Boy am I behind on this thread! Congrats to all the latest winners! I have been busy with a craft sale this weekend (made $400 profit!) and I have two classes this week plus work and a huge card order. I will try to drop in when I can. Have fun all!
