We didn't this time, Stacy. Archer doesn't really have a good costume and I was too tired to try to come up with one for him. Lame, I know! We might go back next weekend and will dress up if we do! And I told them if they decide what kind of costume they want I'll make them one for next year over the summer.
And Lydia, I keep forgetting to say YAY for a fun weekend!!!

Good morning and for you, Bridget, good afternoon. (I think that applies to some others as well.) Had a dentist appt. early this morning. Even forgot to upload my CAS card. Congratulations to all the winners. Glad you had fun at the races, Lydia. No time to go back and check the chatter so if I need to know any gossip, I'll wait for the update!
Jean, your CAS card is well worth the wait. SO lovely!

Help! I thought I had a label printed out for the cards to go to MD Anderson but I can't find it (my office is always a mess - or I may have tossed it last year thinking I would not get any more cards sent). Anyway I also cannot find the address on any of the threads I have looked at this morning. Can someone link me or send me the address where we send the cards. Thanks in advance. I am trying to get something accomplished this morning and have had 10 interrruptions already.
Haven't even looked to see if there are any new prizes but I see the Digi ones must have just been awarded.

You'll find it in any of the challenges in the master thread here: Hope You Can Cling To 2012 - Master Challenge Thread It's down towards the bottom of each challenge, just above the thumbs of challenge samples.

Thanks, I had looked there but guess I was just in too big a hurry to scroll down far enough. So now I am off to take care of all my errands for today and to meet a friend for lunch (I have to eat) and I won't be late thanks to your help..

Sometimes you can rent costumes, too. That's what my husband did until we bought him some clothes. I sewed mine from a store pattern and it's fun to wear

You can! They have a place right outside the gate. We'll go dressed up next time. Everyone has a costume that's decent except the 4 yr old. Although, I told Jeff I need to dress as Father Christmas so I could carry a ginormous bag without it looking out of place. For a bit I had a diaper bag, purse, camera, and baby all at once.

Caught up for today, I fought the urge to make comments along the way or it would take forever.
Congrats to everybody who won.
Here's a few comments I saved up
Lydia, they don't want to let you take weekends off, they're just sucking up.
Vicky, I too thought rice grew in boxes, thankfully my mouth was empty when I read that or my keyboard would be a mess, btw, you might be able to get your TV show at your local library
Dawnmercedes - Ken had lost his mind, paint after turkey day. if you do it now it's likely to still smell on Thursday.
Dini, where the heck do you live?

I think there should be some prizes really quick before I have to run out the door to take my kids to swimming! I'll check back after our Renaissance lesson.

aw shucks....no prizes yet though I do know more now about the use of perspective in painting than I did 1/2 an hour ago
I guess you'll just have to give away prizes without me! Have fun!

I wonder who the rest of the prizes will go to?
Oh, if anyone's interested I just started up a new blog group.
It's mostly for anyone who blogs and loves Sci Fi or Fantasy.
You don't have to blog about Sci Fi unless you want to. But I was thinking once the group got big enough we might be able to do Blog Hops with Sci Fi themes.
Like a Doctor Who hop could be about time travel, time, Picasso (there was an episode where the Doctor traveled to him) or the weeping angels. Just a thought I had.
Hey girls. Quiet week at work here, so a little prize entertainment would be welcome (hint, hint!) We spent part of our morning talking about the nutty people who are already in line at Best Buy to purchase cheap TVs. I'm sorry, I just don't get the appeal.

Quiet day at work here too! I'm going to fill it with crafty browsing and blog reading!

They're hoping to get their 15 seconds of fame. I just hope nobody gets hurt in all the craziness. I just can't imagine that sleeping on pavement in the cold is worth saving a hundred dollars or so.

Sounds like great fun. I'm not a fan of Sci Fi but there are a lot of folks out there. Send resqbarbie an invite. She's a big star wars and Harry Potter person.

I hate shopping so I wouldn't do it but my friends who do do it for the thrill - not even the savings. I'd rather walk in the woods

I missed the Doctor Who/Picasso episode! Is it an older one? Or do you mean Van Gogh? I haven't seen any of the old ones!

Hello ladies. Just dropping in for a quick hello before I head off for work this morning. I've been busy in my craftroom getting stuff made for Christmas, but I've been keeping up as best I can with the thread just reading along. I've had a very slow year with my crafting and blogging and HYCCT really got me back in the saddle. Now my crafting space is back to it's riotous, unruly mess, which suits me just fine.

I've run my errands, been to the P.O. to pick up my mail and to send off 6 cards. Stopped at Best Buy to check out prices and info on some Christmas stuff. I hate that store! Well, I don't like most electronics stores. For some reason the sales people are usually less than helpful and seem to have an attitude. I had to get help 3 times to look at one item and didn't get a satisfactory answer the 3rd time. Their response was "there's a part in the box that does that." I said I'd like to see it, but they (3 of them!) didn't respond at all, so I about-faced and left. In another dept., I was looking at something and told the girl that I knew nothing about the product, could she please tell me about it. Her response was "what do you want to know?" I repeated my comment re: my ignorance and told her since I didn't know about it that I also didn't know what to ask. She finally did give me some info which I had to drag out of her question by question.
Sorry. It seems I was more upset about that experience than I even knew. Thanks for letting me vent.
I am curious about your favorite Thanksgiving side dishes - I'm in charge of sides this year...
The stuffing / dressing is the most important part of Thanksgiving dinner for me. We used to make the cranberry / apple / jello salad too, which was my 2nd favorite. We also made that at Christmas. Not sure why (because of the cranberries?) but we always thought of it as a holiday salad and rarely had it throughout the year.
We would usually have green beans and kernel corn, plus mashed potatoes (of course!) and hot rolls. My Mom always made sure we had 2-3 different kinds of pickles and both black and green olives too.

I like doing a sort of yin-yan (is that right) mashed potatoes. I mash white potatoes and sweet potatoes and put them in a round casserole, half and half and kinda peak them up a bit like merengue. I then put them in the oven to brown a little on top. I also like green beans almondine. Can't bear the green bean casserole. My favorite side is cranberry orange relish, which uses a bag of cranberries, a whole orange, lots of sugar and a little rum for pop. We also do walnut bread. You can make that ahead and you can make the cranberry orange ahead, too.

KRIKEY I forgot cranberries when I was at the store. GRRR.
I'm bringing stuffing (I do the bread/celery/onion kind), pies, greenbeans amandine and balsamic glazed butternut squash. I feel like I'm forgetting something...
Oh - and cranberries - LOL - why can't I remember those!!!

Yes, definitely squash. I like the Mother Hubbard or hubbard squash. What about you?

Mmmm, that all sounds good. I don't like sweet potatoes, but your ying/yang casserole sounds good. " and a little rum for pop " YAY!!!
