Loving the strips/quilted background tutorial too!
I had so much fun making this, too! Here's my card for the Inspiration Challenge today: It's A Hug

Just Checking In. It's been a productive day. Knocked lots of the Christmas shopping, thanks to an unexpected 25% off sale at Smiths, as well as got the Thanksgiving marketing done. I'm sure I forgot something and will have to fight the crowds later this week but I'm happy with today's progress so far.
I had a productive day. I made three cards for DT samples for later this week, which means if the Cat's Pajama stamps get here tomorrow I can start playing with them right away.
It's time to start dinner so ta ta fa na
It's also very similar (only it looks easier!) to the Herringbone technique - there's a tutorial for that in resources. Only somehow I never seem to have scraps and always have to cut some from scratch .
Yes, I thought it looked simpler than the herringbone technique too. I've made several of those so I'm eager to try this new (to me) style.
Our DD is in her senior year of college and also moved out...so she rarely comes to visit us at home. We do see her since she's only an hour and a half away, but she hasn't been home in a year and a half! She's coming home for Thanksgiving this year and I'm also soooo excited!!!!! So I understand your joy!!!!
I did this card/box combo for hubby's niece when she got married this summer (her colors were shades of purple). It was a fun project and the box top has the bride and grooms names, the date and just a few things to tie the box to the card like ribbon and a rose or two.
Gosh, that's beautiful! I bet she loved it, I know I would have!

Good evening ladies, gosh our internet just came on & it felt weird all day. At least I got to clean my DH's huge fish tank, I want to get rid of it because it's taken up space that I could use plus there hasn't been any fish in it for months.
Hope everyone is doing well, I know Lydia was at the races all weekend so I'll have to sneak a peek or two tomorrow at work.
TAMMY!! I finished Season 1 of Revenge!! Now I have to buy the first few episodes of Season 2 from Amazon because no way I can wait until it's out on DVD!
Does anyone use Hulu Plus? Can I find the latest season tv shows on there?

We've been watching Hulu Plus. There's a lot of shows on there, however I think I like Netflix better.

I'm baaaccckkkkkkk!
Wow what a fun (and exhausting) two days! I'm a complete convert to F1 - absolutely spectacularly fun. It will take me a month to download all my photos off my camera!!
Now I have to fix my prize screwup and then I can torture you tonight!

Woohoo! Get your DVR programed...the season is really starting to take off now. So many twists and turns!!! I can't wait to see what is in store for us tonight!
Never heard of Hulu Plus so I'm no help there. Sorry, Vicki!

Summer VSN...DOG DAYS OF SUMMER! MINI VSN: May 3rd...MAIN VSN: June 7th & 8th
Thanks all of you, so much! I'm so grateful I found SCS. Everyone is so kind, and it's been great to get to know a little about y'all from this thread. Some of you absolutely blow me away with all you accomplish in a day! I don't know if I'm old, tired, or lazy, but I don't think I could keep up with most of you (and REALLY glad I don't have to!)
BTW has anyone heard a peep out of KJ since she snuck upstairs with Raul?
You're so funny Jody. I haven't heard from KJ either. There's a lot of great people here on SCS, you'll find that some of them are very cool. We all like making things & that's a plus.

OH goodie, we love torture! My internet has been down all day & finally it's up. My Chargers loss too but oh well.

It's not on tonight. American Music awards are on -- I get a week to catch up!!

if we were to have a list just posted the day after the HYCCT challenges were do, it would be like high school play tryouts - you scan the list, don't see your name, and are disappointed.
this way, we all get to know each other and are excited when you see a new winner announced, even if it's not your name picked. it stretches out HYCCT just a little bit longer (or a lot, at this rate! )
