Oh no! I really missed all the fun for the first day of the prize-awarding chatter. There were over 600 posts on 16 pages, and it took me about 2 hours to read them all! I also took a detour to look at the funny pet photos. What fun!
I spent this morning at the kidney doc's office. First time I've seen him, but really like him, and he really put me at ease about my issues. He scheduled some tests and labwork and I'll see him again in early January. He also prescribed more meds for my gout which has almost cleared up, but a tinge remains. My foot is soooo much better now, and I actually wore real shoes to church Sunday! (Had been wearing slippers for 4 weeks.)
This afternoon, I spent with the plumber. Yuk! (The problem, not the plumber.) Hopefully got that problem taken care of for awhile.
I found out that I don't have to work tomorrow (Weds. instead) so I'll be able to keep tabs on Lydia's torture.
My guess for the total views is 597,600. That is probably too low, but I'm stickin' with it.
Happy CONGRATS to the first 12 winners!

OMGosh! Have I missed out! Like you Val, it took me almost 2 hours to read thru this fun chatter just now! Congrats to all the Monday winners!! What a great start, maybe we'll finish by Thanksgiving!
Looks like everyone went to bed, I should too before I turn into a pumpkin. What a great, entertaining, fun way to end the day. Since I got on here I didn't get all I wanted (sorta needed) to get done tonight but I will try not to think about that so I can enjoy this delight alittle longer & sleep tonight (rather than dwell on my to do list)!
I finally have my cards ready to mail off, to do for tomorrow morning. Well I sort of had them ready Saturday, but couldn't make it by noon (on a Saturday?!) to the one postoffice in the area that was open till then. But that's OK, gave me a chance to grab a few more of my various challenge cards to send with, help clear up my space.
♥ Thanks Lydia, the challenge hostesses, the prize donators, the techies, the elves and everyone participating for making this such a fun event for a great cause! ♥
Oh my goodness.....I didn't get home from work until after most of y'all had signed off for the night but scanned through 16 pages of chat....HEEHEEEHEEEHEEE!!!! CONGRATS!!! to all the winners so far....sounds like lots of fun will be happening in your craft rooms soon....Have to work today too and seriously hoping it doesn't end up being 15 hrs again but hope y'all have fun being tortured by Queen Lydia...
Some random thoughts after reading all the chat:
Y'all should seriously try the banana bread Lydia posted yest...that is the recipe I always use and it is mucho mucho yummy...
Tamales mean holiday season....(or weddings)
I grew up just down the road from Climax, Kansas and have seen all the fun town signs travelling through PA. so can verify that they are real also....heehee
Winter has come to Kansas also and I'm ready for spring....
Hmmmm....just realized I can get BOGO on my plane rides today and keep up with all the chatter...
Congrats to all the winners yesterday!
I am going to guess 880,000 views.
Here is a cat pic...

No - we're actually missing a few pieces of hardware so I don't know how far we'll get - but he got the front sections done last night and I looked over all the bins - I'm so excited.
I function in complete chaos most of the time so I'm looking forward to this. I'm contemplating a complete tear out/redo of my craft cave after this is all set up. It's too small and unorganized.

Yup, this is what I did. I wasn't quite prepared for everything to get WAY worse before it got better! It didn't take as long as I thought it would and I donated two big boxes of goodies to a local senior center. I should have parted with more but apparently that would have required a therapist!
Want me to post some photos of mine?

Well then it sounds like the scrapbox will be perfect. We are all excited for you too.... Ok I better say most of us are excited for you...... But don't you just hate it when you buy something and it is missing pieces... It happens all the time...A total redo sounds like torture and excitement all rolled into one..... Enjoy Lydia
So how close were they???? Will we find out before I leave??? Can we get a more than and less than number? 1-2,000,000 lol

Of course we want pictures! I hate how that process works. It is what stops me from getting started with some projects. Even the wonderful prize of a scrapbox brings with it the task of making room for it, putting it together, sorting through all your stuff and filling it up! Not that I have personal experience with this....still a little green with envy!

I am so curious to hear how you like it once you're all set up and have lived with it a bit. I'm a complete chaos person as well and it would probably be worth the money if this gets everything squared away. So please do a big post about it!

Vicki, were you organized before your scrapbox or no? I am so not organized. In any capacity. I'm pretty sure there's dna for it and I don't have it. But maybe the box works like my hypothyroid medicine and simulates what I can't manufacture myself?? I could go on a year-long spending freeze then buy one!

WOOHOO!! It doesn't get much better than this - I made cards, which I love to do, to support those who are going through what I went through last year and I won a prize for doing it. AWESOME!
Thanks much to Lee for picking my number and to cutcardstock for the prize!
you said it all. It's beyond the icing on the cake it's the flower on the icing on the cake. If I don't win a thing, it doesn't matter, I'm having fun just being along for the ride. Congrats on your prize and stay well.
did we lose Lydia to the wonder of the Scrapbox?
Home from work finally and had an easy dinner of tomato soup and grilled cheese. Now I think I will shuffle the laundry and work on some cards!
Did you the Food network's tomoato soup cover, recent but not sure which month. I don't even like soup but this got my attention, they make grilled cheese sandwich croutons. looked yummy.

talking about craft room organization,
I found this at World Market for storing my washi tape collection. sorry, I can't post a photo 'cause I can't save one from the website. gotta tell you how absolutely CUTE my washis look on this!!!!

make sure you have the drawing with the peg holes handy when you start putting the drawers in and pay attention to the fact that there are two different size 12 x 12 drawers (depth). the smaller ones go over the desk section, the deeper ones go in the door. if you count the pegs out the way they are in the drawing everything will go fine, if you try to do it on your own you may be sorry.

We do this at home now!! I didn't see the Food Network magazine, but I had a fantastic tomato bisque with grilled guyere & some fancy ham sandwich croutons at a restaurant. It was unbelievable. Now I do it at home with regular cheese & ham and campbell's tomato soup and it's still fabulous!

BWAAAAHAAAHAAAHAAAA!!! If my husband were here and read your question, we would have to resuscitate him!
Ummm. No. I would not say I am organized by nature. AND I have a tough time both
a. remembering that my supplies are not a collection - but should be USED. I tend to "save" things for good.
and
b. refraining from buying any more!
And don't get me started on ribbon.
You know how it goes, you organize your stuff. Then you "acquire" more stuff. So you buy another box because now you don't have room in the original box. So you end up with ribbon or whatever in a number of places. Then you can't find anything ever. The scrapbox does two things for me -- gives me a place to put everything, and let's keep a kind of visual inventory easily - so I don't buy any more red ribbon when I already have a dozen rolls. Makes sense? It's been a real blessing.

Would you believe all my stuff doesn't fit in mine? I got it when I didn't have a hidden room for it and it was great because I could close it up when "company" was coming. But that was when we were in a temporary home and I had stuff in storage - now I have a room and it is overflowing, mostly because I also sew and there's a lot of fabric around.
I swear I could cover half the USA in dp and the other half in fabric and still have enough to craft my life away.
