It was nice here. I had my windows opened, now it's getting dark and chilly. The rest of the week is suppose to be in the 50's and it will rain tomorrow.

I've been waiting for this day for-evah! And just as I find the thread, I"m off to a stamping party!!!! This was my first year of HYCCT and I loved it! Guess I'll join in later one.
My dad is in Colorado and unless it is under 20 degrees or snowing he rides his Harley to work every day!
That's how my DH is, but it freezes up if it rains or snows because he works night shift & doesn't come home until 7:00am. He'll have every reason to be on the bike.
My work day is done but it is bowling league night and then home to post for the Color Combination Challenge. You all need to come play!! Post goes up about 11pm EST. I will be checking in off and on between strikes (I wish!) I have a new kitty and will see if I can find some Twiggy pics to share.
Don't you just wish you could stay home & watch the posts? Congrats to the winners so far. I have an hour drive home come 5:00, hopefully I'll be able to catch up on the posts when I get home.

Truth. My Other doesn't think any of you are real anyway!! LOL
Holy Cow -- I see I'm the only one who left the computer for a few hours today!
Welcome Emily! I look forward to getting to chat with you.
My Other gets very nervous when I invite the computer people to the house! When we first moved here, I had made "friends" with a scrapbook yahoo group. I invited them to a crop at my house and all you heard all night was my husband trying to explain to my kids why it is not a good idea to invite people from the internet to your house -- unless they are mommy's scrapbook people. They are the only safe ones LOL!

my sons go out in the snow barefoot all winter to take the dogs out.... teens around here wear shorts even in the snow and flip flops all year long. that's with temps down around 0*. I have a winter coat, but haven't actually worn it in years. probably will this year only because with all of my treatments, I am freezing all the time.
Jennifer -- I don't know where you are but in western NY we are used to snow & cold! And the constant refrain you hear in my neighborhood is "It's __ degrees -- put a coat on! And no flip flops" I swear, every mother in my neighborhood is yelling that down the driveway!

We are having steak, sweet potatoes (baked on the grill) and salad. Which means most of it is hubby's job. Of course that leaves the cranky children to me. Ack. I wish I was heading for a stamping or bowling party!

we live near Cleveland, northeast, about an hour from the PA border.
for a long time the school system tried to outlaw shorts and flip flops during the winter, especially when we had several feet of snow on the ground. but too many parents complained about it. they said if their kids wanted to wear shorts in the snow they should be allowed to.
my boys always said that they had Hobbit feet themselves, so the snow never bothered them. none of us like to wear shoes in our family, so it makes perfect sense to me. ha! must be our Native American blood....
okay, y'all have fun cheering on the rest of the winners! I am heading off to bed for the night. it's early, but I'm still having troubles from my radiation treatments and seizures they have caused.
will be back tomorrow to say my 'hoorahs' for all of you!
well I made some delicious butternut squash soup-you use sweet potato, granny smith apple, carrots, rutabaga, onion, maple syrup and cayenne pepper. Along with cream and chix broth. So yumm and served with a tossed salad and bread. Love making different soups in the fall and winter
A big congrats to all the winners since I checked in earlier
