Just came out of the craft cave for the night. Tomorrow is my stamp group shoebox swap. I swear to you, I NEVER get a card the way I want it the first time. EVER. So I made my card. Then I made my card again. Then I made my kits. Now I'm sitting in the recliner with a laptop, two dogs and a little beverage to calm my nerves

Confession: I would love to go to a big stamping get together but shoebox swaps terrify me. I have to come up with a card a bunch of people will think is up to snuff and be organized enough to bring all the pieces??? Insanity!

Blogger is fine - my stuff is pinned from blogger. Are you using the Pinmarklet from your browser to pin your stuff? Pasting a link? uploading a photo?

DO NOT BE AFRAID! I've been to a few big gatherings -- one an SCS gathering. I felt the same way. After the first time I went, I stopped fretting. Everyone was so nice and so complimentary. I didn't feel judged at all.
Tomorrow's group is our monthly card swap. I have a group of 7 stamping buddies who do this once a month. It's a way to justify our buying habits. LOL!

Then should I be pinning them first from my blog rather. The only time I use the pinmarklet button is when I find something I like on the web.
I'm adding (pictures) pins from my computer. There's a way to do it, but it's a bit harder than I thought. I may have to wait until tomorrow when I get home & have hubby help me, he's the computer guru.
I think all you have to do is go to the top of the screen where your name is and click on the Add button to the left of it and then find your photo. I went crazy trying to figure that one out and haven't done it in awhile but I think that's how I did it.
Thanks for the encouragement! Maybe I'll try the next Texas one. There are so many awesome stampers and I'm not a bad stamper, but, uh, let's go with inconsistent! I just get nervous when the cards are for other people. Are my cuts straight enough, is this a good color combo, etc.

I use blogger and have put photos from my blog in my boards using the usual "Pin It" button and I do believe if you do it that way your addy will be there automatically. if not till you figure it out you can type your addy there.

I know what you mean -- but your work is so gorgeous. Great design and so clever!
I wish I could come to the next Texas swap. I've never been to Texas!

Watching it right now. I love Emmitt but I was rooting for Apolo Anton Ohno.

people are going to have fun with people who share their love of stamping. I went to a couple in NJ/NY and had a great time. A lot of the women there came from hours away. They were a riot, they'd go all over to swaps. They were from upstate NY and all didn't live close but depending on which way they were going they'd go to someone's house 2 nights before and work on stuff and then head out the next day.
they were very friendly and funny. they have a thread like this going a couple months ahead of time for people to sign up and you get to know them before you meet them.
I already put in my vacation time for a week in October so I could make lots more cards for the next HYCCT. My boss & the COO thought that is the most generous thing I've ever done & for a great cause. They were kind enough to donate all my envelopes which was very nice, I wasn't expecting that.
I went through withdrawal after HYCCT last year. I got so used to having a place to hang out and chat - I really missed it when it was done. My dh travels and my kids are big -- dd is 17 and ds is 24 and out on his own. So many evenings it's kust me and the dogs
