Arrgggh, just had a fail on 1s CAS card attempt....beautiful brayered strip of stars until I pulled the mask off and saw a huge smear down on the bottom of the card (where I didn't need to mask because the brayer wouldn't be anywhere near there!). Then I cut it down to a 3x3 and tried to use my stampamajig to change the sentiment to a line and failed at that too! Now its time to start school so I'll have to try again later.
Hope your mornings go better than mine!
Les Mis is awesome....saw it live in Chicago many years ago and have seen the Liam Neeson movie and read the abridged book. I'd like to read an unabridged version sometime.
Oh my! So sorry the CAS card didn't go the way you planned. {{{HUGS}}} Kudos for trying to salvage it. I hope your next effort goes without a hitch. Have a great day schooling.
We are off to see Santa. I hope she's a good girl and we get a nice picture. I've never had photo cards made, but I really want to this year. After losing our son 4 years ago, I'm a bit obsessed with pictures this time around. I am going to need an external hard drive to clear off my laptop soon. I already had to delete all the pictures of my cards.
Maybe I'll get to stamp some later. I haven't been making very many this month; I think I used all my mojo for the HYCCT cards last month.

Now Ikea is a different story -- I love Ikea! All those different storage solutions???? LOVE it! Unfortunately, the closes Ikea visit for me requires a passport. Have to go over the border to Toronto.
Joint last with me on seeing Les Miserables, but I have read the book - and Anna Karenina too .
There's an IKEA about 15 minutes from us, but I still haven't been there yet. Not even when I accidentally took the wrong turn into it one day coming back from a doctor's appointment .
Holy cow--can you imagine the vision it takes (or the perhaps the computer program) to make the Mona Lisa out of cups of coffee?? Very impressive!

Trader Joe's just opened here also (should check out their stock - looks like they are expanding all over). Same reaction here -- mobs heading to Trader Joe's. When I finally went, I failed to see what the big fuss was about....

Good morning!
No, you are not the last person on earth to see Les Mis. I haven't seen it either, but the trailer from the movie is tempting me. I read Anna Karenina many years ago -- but I confess that the only thing I remember is the train scene.
I can't decide if I want to try the technique challenge or the CAS challenge. I'm sort of tired but I want to make a card.
I did a card combining the two challenges -- and promptly decided it was pretty awful! So maybe combining wasn't such a good idea. I will have to try to start over. Perhaps TWO cards are on my schedule for today!
Good morning, here's the coffee I promised you - it's the Mona Lisa made from 3,604 cuppa's at the launch of this year's The Rocks Aroma Festival in Australia!
whoa. Mona's been getting a lot of makeovers. didn't we have another one posted here?
Well, it's 1:25 in the morning & just finished my CAS card for today's challenge. I hope it's ok for what the quote said.
I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night- Galileo
Amazing! See? The stars work beautifully here. I agree, sometimes the simple in CAS can be hard. There's times when I just have to put the adhesives/accessories away and sit on my hands. Enough.
I really encourage folks to upload a card for the winter CAS dt challenge. You have until 10 P. M. tonight to submit the first challenge, which is to use a song from a holiday film as inspiration.

Oops. You're right. So how many folks can finish and upload a card in one hour? Good practice for vsn!!! and I've got to be more careful, reading the fine print...

g'morning *groan* hi ho hi ho... hopefully I will get to come home early depending on what time the maytag man wants to be here... ( they are supposed to call (work) within the next hour )
Trader Joes is a grocery store
(but, I don't know if they sell special foods or just regular foods or who knows?)

CAS doesn't come easy to me...I admire the gals who aren't afraid of all that white space. I'm challenging myself to start doing the CAS challenges and looking forward to the 200th party weekend for lots of inspiration.

Trade Joe's sells both kinds of foods but most people go for the special kind. They have all sorts of different stuff that a regular grocery store does not carry and their prices are usually quite good because most is private lable. We are finally getting one. Should open end of the week. Took a while because they make a LOT of their money on beer, wine and liquor. The most they can sell is 3.2 beer.

I thought about doing both challenges but wasn't sure if it was allowed.

Goodness, I wish it was that easy for me. I have to think about it first.

Combining is normally fine, Connie. Not for HYCCT because the aim it to get as many cards as possible, and not for the VSN challenges, but I don't think there's ever a problem with combining the regular weekly challenges.

Thanks, I'll remember that for the daily challenges. I like the idea of not having duplicate challenges for the HYCCT.
I'm pretty sure this is my fourth if not fifth attempt. I like the card I made, but it didn't photograph well.
I know I started reading Anna Karenina, but I didn't finish it which is rare for me. It is probably still at my bedside somewhere!
I redid my CAS challenge card and still ended up with a smudge, but much less obvious than the last huge brayered area!

I won't be able to get to that today but I'm thinking about making CAS my new year's resolution. For the last couple years I've been making crafting resolutions, and I've been pretty good about keeping them - better than the dieting ones anyway.
I'm not very good at clean and simple and I marvel over them. the only way to get good at them is practice making them.

while I was making my HYCCT cards there were several that I knew would work for more than one of the challenges. maybe next year someone can start a thread where we can make posts yakking about our cards that work in more than one challenge. sort an onofficial way of combining.

Your post made me check out your blog. Beautiful little girl! Mine was 9 months last week.

Where do you find that challenge at? Is it on the home page? Thanks for the compliment.
Copy and paste your link.
Put this text in front of your link [ url= except don't put the space between the bracket and the u.
Put a close bracket ] after your link with no spaces.
Then type the text you want to be your link (example: This Card)
Then after your text for your link type [ /url ] but again, take out the spaces.
Yay, I win! I got it to work on my CASEd card. Thanks for sharing the instructions.
look who's back! Yeah! lots of people looking for you, did you ever imagine you'd be so wanted?
hey, we're past "boo" and "gooble, gooble", we're up to "ho, ho, ho". I don't know about you but I get geeky enough and answer my phone with those phrases. sometimes I just can't help myself, I can be pathetic.
