I wanted to introduce her to SCS, but she didn't want to be on the computer.
If she doesn't want to be on the computer, maybe she can flip through some card magazines and buy her favorites? I go through and make little sketches, write down color combos, whatever.
Is she on pinterest? She can look for ideas there if she just doesn't want to come here.
Along with a list of mat sizes, when I was starting a list of "normal" card sizes was helpful. And just basic designs. She can make some really nice cards with just an embossing folder, image or sentiment, and a ribbon.
Everyone has good advice!

That is so cute, and what terrific memories. I also spotted your glittery tree - the card is absolutely gorgeous!!! I would love to know where the image came from if you can find out -

For your friend starting out: the sketch challenge files are a great resource
Connie, I love the pretty embossed Christmas cards
To those having their celebrations today...hope your food and family time is awesome.
I have been enjoying the down time....just hanging with the family with movies and games and books. Very relaxing.
We've been visiting DH's family so I haven't made time to check back in here until now. Squee, I won a prize! Thank you!
I read back a bit... Mandolin slicers creep me out since DH lost the very tip of his thumb to one. Ick.
I don't get the coconut water trend.
All the animal photos are just too too cute!
And the Big Game for us is Virginia at Virginia Tech. H-O-K-I-E-S Hokies!
(eta: guess that looks funny next to my avatar, lol, but I have never liked UVa.)
I made 12 Christmas cards tonight, it's almost 2:00 in the morning DH should be coming home soon to start the smoker for the turkey. I played with different embossing powders & ended up like the white...which means I'll just do a few of each & then some.
They are all so very pretty. I think the group of cards with the row of trees on blue would be my favorite. I've been coloring chickadees for my December cards. I've used pencils on some and Copics on one. I like the pencils better for this particular image.

Oh, Connie, those are really pretty! I can't even pick a favorite. Hope your turkey day turns out great!
Speaking of making cards, my stepson wanted a cute card to make up and give to the twenty girls on his all-star cheer squad, so I put him to work! They turned out really cute, and it was fun to see him so hard at work in my cave. I'll try to post pics sometime this morning-
Here they are - I cut card bases, he stamped snowflakes with Versa Dazzle. I stamped images with Versa, he powdered, I heated. I die cut, he colored. The blue and gold match the girls' uniforms. They are 5th - 8th grade, I think they will love them!

Good Morning ladies!!!! Sorry I have been gone for a bit. SO much emotions and didn't wanna bum the thread down! Marsh died Thanksgiving night. We buried him yesterday.
Weird getting up in the AM and not having that fat lil guy meet me with a smile and dance!!!! Daughter is doing ok... poor thing! I hope to go get into my craft cave today. I have decided to no longer be afraid of Digi stamps and purchased some while at work ( ) from Saturated Canary. They had a 50% off sale.
SO, Short of going back a million pages how is everyone else doing??? someone able to give me a snap shot? lol

Mandolin cutters are dangerous.
Lots of good food.
Cranky appliances.
Some Black Friday shopping.
Christmas cards.
Lydia disappeared Wednesday evening and hasn't been back.

I totally agree. I told her so she'll look & get some ideas. She was excited this morning she made a card with quilling, it was very nice. She did a angel. I'll see if she'll let me take a picture.
When I know I'll be making cards with someone, I always write out a sketch so I don't sit there.

Oh where oh where has Lydia has gone, oh where oh where can she be?
Hugs, KJ!!!
Glad you are getting back to the craft cave. I need to spend some time in mine today. I have done dishes and done some tidying up. Next step is getting the holiday boxes out of the garage. My garage is a disaster, so that should be fun!

Those are cute Jodylynn.
I could smell our turkey on the smoker, we won't be eating until 6:00, my DH came home around 3:00 this morning, put the turkey on, I have to wake him up at 1:00--he said I could take the girls anywhere for lunch, so I may have to sneak over to Hobby Lobby & try Joanns again.

Great start to your Christmas stash. How wonderful to have a friend to to share this hobby with. If she like what you do that would be a good place to start.
A scrapbooking friend of mine was interested in my stamping hobby, so I showed her a thing or two about the fundamentals of stamping. Just two weeks ago she was onstage doing a demo for a local SU! hosted event. She's been called up a couple of times to demo for them and I jokingly tell her, 'You know dear, I did teach you EVERYTHING you needed to know about stamping!' Her papercrafting talent however is all her own.
Thank you. She wants to go to Archivers & participate in classes plus we could go there together & work there & use their things.

Not it was easy. I chose to run one button one way and the other two the other. Just thread the twine through the holes in the same direction and pull through the loop. Easy peasy! Thanks connie for the comment.
Really do like it - is that a photograph of yours?
JodyLynn, No it is not a photo of mine. It is some really neat paper that I got at the local card shop put out by McRice Photo Images. You get a 12 x 12 sheet with probably 10 photos on it. Cut and paste to your liking! Thanks for the comment.
Great minds think alike but I'm always just a little bit behind. I wanted to CASE a card of this week's queen and added a button using the cool technique. Thinking of Mrs Noofy Thanks again to whoever it was that posted the pictures...my brain doesn't work well without seeing things, and I probably wouldn't have been able to figure it out...as it was I did each side differently

That Snowman turned outvery cute. Aren't those times with the Gkids the most fun. I'm so glad mine all like to do the craftyt things. They especially like to help grandma bake. One of my 4yr old DGD is a great egg cracker.

oooh pretty cards Connie I had to laugh at my self that I made so many "tree" cards this year and last year was santa santa lol So, I've been calling this the year of the tree...
I also have a close friend who actually loves to stamp but, refuses to touch a computer... and so that's just her life. I try to spend some in person time with her playing to show her things or answer questions because, she gets it better hands on.
{she thinks you guys are all a figment of my imagination *worse than hubs* at least he's been to some CK conventions with me and got to meet some OR scrappers a few times lol...}
