Happy Friday!
Thank you to Tracey for giving me a break these last few weeks.
I have an awesome Scrapbook Diva Designer guest today!
I first met Jen as a card designer and was so impressed by her talent; then I found out how amazing her scrapbooking was, too! She runs an inspiring and fun card-challenge blog called Caardvarks, and she recently began offering card kits with Itty Bitty Scrap Shack that feature their own custom stamps and other surprises.
I just know youre going to love her, so please join me in giving a very warm welcome to Jen Pohl !
Jen, thank you for joining us on this Friday morning! And thank you for this little bit to introduce yourself:
Hey all! I'm Jen, a Diva for today! I'm very excited...I'm making my husband call me Ms. D all day. I'm mostly a mommy with 3 little ones. When I'm not in mommy mode, I'm scrapbooking, stamping, card making, running Caardvarks and partnering at Itty Bitty Scrap Shack. I seriously can't get enough! I fell hard and fast in love with this hobby and I've never looked back. If I wasn't scrapping, I'd be beading, my second love. I try to use my time wisely -- I never walk into my craft room without a plan. My stamps are displayed right in front of me on shallow acrylic shelves that are nearly as high as the ceiling. I love to just look up and choose my weapon. I work fast and my most favorite time to create is in the very early morning hours when my crew is still sleeping. I have at least 20 albums now, stuffed full of layouts, secret letters to my children hidden between pages, and story after story of the past 10 years. I'm proud to be a scrapbooker.
Jens challenge for us this week is to try one of her favorite techniques, stamping on transparencies. Ill let Jen give you her tips on the technique. And here are some samples for us to use for inspiration:
Thanks to everyone for joining in the challenge! Be sure to type in SBDD18 for the Keyword when you upload. Dont forget to post a link here to your creation so that we can all ooh and ahhhh ;)

Welcome Jen!!...you pgs. are beautiful!! I am very excited about your challenge...but, I have never used transparencies before - is there anything special I should know about stamping on them??
I love your pages Jen and great challange. I have done trans. for ornaments but not on a scrapbook page. Love this idea!! Can't wait to try it!!

Valerie, can you right click on them and choose view image?
If that doesn't work, maybe click on the link to the tutorial, that will show you some of her images as well.
- Stamp onto the 'back' of the transparency
- I'll often outline my stamped image with a black marker to really make it pop
- Use alcohol based ink (like StazOn) and markers that will dry - Sharpies work great!
- Adhere transparency to paper with just a bit of crystal lacquer dabbed onto a busy part of your stamped image
- *Gently* press stamp onto transparency so your image comes out crispy
- If you want an additional pop, use more color on the front of the transparency - Sakura Souffle pens are great for this

Here's another layout -- this one was created on an 8.5x11" transparency. I stamped the grid pattern on the back using a simple journaling lined stamp, outlined it with a black marker, then colored in various squares with colored markers. I then used acrylic paint to create the 'frame' around the pic. I added rubons and letter stickers to the front.

wow...that looks so cool! That gives me an idea...thanks for the inspiration!
Great page, Jessica!
How did you do the colors on the pictures? It looks great
:-D Thanks Jennie!
They are little round jewels that I stuck on Maddy's crown and star jewel in Avery's hair and in her hands...they did not show too good in the pic.
Wow - beautiful pages! Thanks for the inspiration I love using transparency - so far for scrapping I've only printed journaling on it. This should be fun to try!

This is a dumb question, but I cant tell from the pic--what exactly did you stamp on the transparency? The lay-out looks great, but I just cant quite figure it out--thanks a bunch

there's a tiny bee on the big flower just above where the stamped flourish is going down the page. sorry it doesn't show up better in the scan. it's pretty subtle IRL also.
