VICKI'S WRITE UP!!!
Me?! DIVA of the week? Wasnt thinking of that at all!! As a matter of fact I thought that Darcy was asking me for help with the theme challenges! Im very flattered!! THANK YOU!!
Gosh, I began scrapbooking several years ago! My cousin invited me over for a Stampin Up! workshop in 1999 and I was hooked! I was so hooked I signed on to demonstrate in January of 2000 and have been doing it ever since! When I hosted my very own workshop, I got introduced to the scrapbooking, but it was really plain and simple. For instance I would roll a wheel on paper and throw pictures on it! Hehehe! After time, my scrapbooking has grown in leaps and bounds!
I became lucky when I stumbled onto the SCS website and found so many cool ideas. I didnt know much about the scrapbooking forum until the end of last year and I really took off on the challenges! I was hooked and Ive learned so many neat tricks, cool ideas, layouts and even listened to people say what works best or HOW theyve done something and I really try and follow what Ive learned on here. Im always in awe at all the talented scrapbookers on hereI have so many favorites, I might as well say most everyone on here inspires me! Im always looking for something new to do or add to my scrapbooking. I usually place the pics where I want, find my colors, then papers, put it together and stand back and ask myself What can I add? I find that the sketches are very difficult for me and take me so long to complete, so thats an area Id like to work more on. The themes come very easy for me and I can do a million of them and I dont feel limited because I only have to follow an idea, not a sketch. I do play around with drawing my own sketches and coming up with themes, I find that my Stampin Up! customers like to do them for themselves, which is fun!
Id like to add that some people may say that scrapbooking is a waste of time or just a hobby, but I feel it is a very important part of carrying on your family heritage. I do not have very many pictures of my grandma that past away or very much of her handwriting and I would LOVE to have that at this point and time in my life. So please dont be afraid of taking pictures of yourself or with othersand especially journal in your scrapbook pages.someone somewhere down the road will thank you for it! It is the best gift we can pass on to others. Happy scramping to you all!!!
Congratulations, Vicki! I haven't even looked at the examples of your work that were highlighted, but I know they'll be great. I've seen your work before.
I'm blushing!! Very nice things to say! I don't know if I can compare to some of you guys...but I hope you can find some inspiration in just completing your pages! That's the most important thing, right?!:-D

So Vicki, here is my dps from your inspiration page What Little Boys are Made Of (super cute btw!) I had these photos which appear to be completely unrelated, but were just days apart and wanted to put them together to reflect our crazy Colo weather. I thought your layout was just right for them - so thank you!

Thanks for the inspiration Vicki. This is late I know, but DGD has had a cold and needed some extra attention so it sat there almost done for a couple days.
The DTP around the edges doesn't show up much, but it's there IRL
