Here's a pic of DH in his co-worker's Ferrari GTB 599. This guy's always buying expensive cars. Obviously, he makes about a million times more that DH does.
Cars are just one of those things I don't really get into. I grew up driving whatever beater we had. If it runs, I like it. My father to this day has never owned a brand new car in his life. I feel kind of bad when I realize that over the years Nate and I have had 6 new cars.
Nice car.
But you know what, I'm the same way. For all my drooling, the one car I've always wanted was a VW Bug. LOL
But the one I'd want now is the new Turbo Convertible (why not!?!) but it wants Premium gas. The non-Turbo uses regular gas. Maybe I could talk DH into one of those....

I'm dealing with a furry funeral today. DD's favorite rat died last night. He hasn't been doing well since Thursday and we were really surprised he held on this long. It broke my heart every time I saw him in his cage gasping for breath. She should have probably taken him to the vet and had him euthanized, but she doesn't have much money. And the last rat she tried to take to the vet died on the way there. I let her stay home from school today. I really didn't want to worry about her driving in the rain when she was so distracted and sad.
And bad news never travels alone. My boss called me this morning asking me if I could work some extra hours. Her DH was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer and she knows he doesn't have long. She said she really wants to spend every minute she can with him and doesn't want to worry about going to work. It kind of puts the news about the rat into perspective.
I saw her rat had died. I'm so sorry.
And your co-worker's DH! Oh my goodness!!!!
I haven't bothered even trying to count APs in a long time, I just try to stay active, if I'm not moving furniture, I'll walk. I was happy when I stopped at the library last Friday and parked on the second level, and walked, that when I went back up the stairs, I wasn't winded at the end of it!!! Yay!

Oh and I am the proud owner of a Honda Odyssey mini van! It does the job. When DH went to buy our first van, the sales person was really trying to sell him on it. DH said it is a mini van, we need it and it is for my wife.

Me too! And in a happy color, like yellow, orange, or aqua.
Valentines are done and off to school. I feel like I kind of cheated this year. Noah's were printed on labels, including his name, and stamped with whatever heart set and inks I could find in my stamp mess. He slapped the labels on this morning. Zach's were printed, but I stamped a red heart on each one, and Zach wrote on them, then the boys stapled them to the Swedish Fish bags. Not the level of cuteness I would have wanted, but it'll do. Normally I take pictures and post them on my blog, but I don't think these were particularly worthy of blogging.
So, any plans, anyone doing anything fun today?
Nothing much going on here. It's cloudy this morning, so not sure if my son's soccer practice will be canceled or not. I'm trying to come up with a dinner that will make everyone happy. Maybe BLT's? I would make a dessert, but I was hungry when I went to the store yesterday and bought a few bags of cookies already, plus I figure the kids will get enough sweets at school today.
This afternoon I'll be volunteering at the blood center. My honey is still in China. On Friday I'm leaving for MN again and DH arrives on Sunday. I hope our Sweet William is not too late. I'm getting awfully anxious to hold him.

We have no big plans. I think I will be home alone while 3 of them are at Scouts. Not sure what my oldest has planned, hanging out with some friends I am sure.

I've always wanted a Turbo Convertible bug, too! Maybe not yellow or orange, but aqua would be nice. I keep thinking some day when we don't need the bigger car. I don't like the idea of premium gas, either, but maybe they'll change that by the time I get around to getting one.
I'm working today filling in for my boss (not AS the boss, but just filling in). I'll get home about 1:00 and DH and DD and I are going to Mongolian BBQ for lunch. I love that place because I choose how much of what I want. I usually load it up with veggies. Then we're heading to Lathrop to do a little geocaching. DH wanted to find a cache that had LOVE or VALENTINE in the title. He found one out there called Valentine's Day. He also found this Quick Mart that has an alien spaceship attached. I'll take pictures and post them later. Tonight we're eating at home. I bought a small prime rib to make for dinner.
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

I got three cards made this morning. Two are for Monday's challenges and one is the baby card for DS and DDIL. They are in my gallery if you're interested.

Happy Valentine's Day Hope everyone has a great day.
Betty, congrats on making 5%. That is wonderful!
Jill, sorry about DD's rat.
Natalie, the most fun for me today was walking the dog. I have been unable to take him for a long walk as I have been sick for weeks. Today we did 2 miles. So that is a nice accomplishment for me.
Happy Valentine's Day, sweet friends! Love you all!!!
We are such homebodies that our idea of a fun evening is watching a DVD movie together. I don't watch much TV or movies, so for us to actually sit together and do so is a big deal, lol.
I'm making filet mignon and lobster tails for dinner, with cherry cheesecake for dessert. Then we're going to watch Bridesmaids. I hear it's really funny.
Suzanne the cards are great. The baby one is adorable, I know you are getting so excited.
Cindy dinner sounds wonderful, (especially the cheesecake). My DD and her husband loved the Bridesmaids.
Jeannie yeah for getting in a 2 mile walk. I had errands to run, so didn't get any exercise today, so will have to do 3 miles tomorrow to make up for it.
Have a wonderful evening everyone.

Uh oh.
LOL Just kidding.
We've had some ... interesting experiences with Odyssey drivers. Just promise me you won't drive like a <fill in favorite cuss word>.

I never did have a favorite color but I like the ones with what I call saturated color. Like if it's yellow it's REALLY yellow. lol
I made DH's card this afternoon. I mailed all the ones for friends a few weeks ago but had to wait til the last second to make his. lol
He's not home yet. Not sure where he is. I heard him leave at 6:45 a.m. and it's almost 5:30.

Well, we all know what Christine did last night. Hubba hubba!

ROFLMBO!!! And Cindy, when are you going to learn NOT to take a drink before reading Natalie's posts?!?!
Betty, I forgot to say CONGRATULATIONS on the nice loss!
Pia, I loved my mini van but now I'm loving my small SUV.
I had a great Valentine's Day (for the most part, but I'll get to that later)! I worked a 2 hour shift, then DH took DD and me to Mongolian BBQ for lunch. I love that place! Loaded up on veggies with very little meat and very little pasta, added my 2 tsp. of healthy oil and didn't eat the egg roll. Then we went on a geocaching hunt for aliens (see my photos on FB). I made Prime Rib for dinner but didn't overeat and only ended up having a couple of bites of my sweet potato. We were going to watch a movie last night but instead I got busy finishing making my hotel reservations for our Spring Training trip next month. I got a nice phone call from my brother, who I haven't talked to in forever, and he is so excited for us to come down and visit him in Tucson, even if it's only for a day and a half.
Then all he** broke loose. Remember when I said bad news doesn't travel alone? Well I've always been a believer that it travels in threes and sure enough I got news that my cousin died suddenly yesterday morning. This is the brother of the cousin who died 2 months ago. He was only 60! They don't know why yet. They are doing an autopsy but may not have the results before next week. They're thinking a heart attack (although he took GREAT care of himself) or an aneurism. There were originally 8 kids in that family and now only 4 are left... one died in childbirth, two to cancer, and now this one. We are all still reeling from the news. I feel doubly bad that I didn't go to my other cousin's funeral in December. I may have to make a better effort to attend this one. And now I have ANOTHER sympathy card to make.
On the plus side, DH took me on a 7.5 mile bike ride today. It was really windy and at least half of the ride was against the wind, although I swear it shifted while we were out and it was WAY more than half. I hope this exercise shows up at WI tomorrow.

Well, DH got stuck in meetings yesterday, went with his boss, and the meetings they had together ran late so his boss didn't have time to get him back to the office before his 5 p.m. meeting. So he did finally call, and got home about 7:15. We hate going to fancy places on V-Day and spent about 10 minutes trying to come up with someplace else that we haven't just been to (lol), and failed, so he said he was fine with leftover pizza and I chose a WW meal.

And I have my four cards for the month. I'm always sad when one is a sympathy card. I CASEd it from myself, just a little different. It's for a family that my folks have known - well forever. We used to go to their house for New Year's Eve every year and it was so much fun. They had a bunch of kids, and Paul was 8 years younger than me, so I didn't really know him well. Turns out, he's the same age as DH. Weird, huh. And 51 is too young.
Anyway here are the cards.

I'm heading to Vegas on Saturday to attend my sister's husband's memorial service. He died on Tues (Valentine's Day) shortly after they took him off the life support machines. He was waiting for a heart transplant, and it was finally decided he was too far gone, too weak, and even if a heart had come available, he wouldn't have survived the surgery. This is the wedding I didn't go to a year ago on New Year's Eve, so Jill, I know how you are feeling. I'm going to be rooming with my mother... talk about 3 days of stress. Mom insisted on me going, and I told her I couldn't put out the plane fare, so she insisted on paying for it all. Sigh. I'm so stressed already. I need to color my hair. THat will make me feel better, LOL!

Oh Dawna, I'm so sorry! I wish I could be in Vegas to support you, if for no other reason than to give you someone to get away from your family with.
Pia, I understand. It doesn't have to be anything big, just something that says (or even saying) I love you. My DH got me a really nice card. He went to the extra trouble to pick one out that looked hand made. But then when we were out he kept saying "I should have gotten you flowers. Maybe I should stop and get you flowers, but I forgot to get money." I told him don't bother because I felt like it was an afterthought. I mean, if you wanted to get me flowers, why didn't you just GET them or plan on at least having the money to buy them while we're out. Other than that we had a nice day.
Kathy, I love the cards, too! I'm sorry about the reason for the sympathy card. I have the same issue with pictures not turning out when I use the flash. It never shows the embossed backgrounds. However, when I don't use the flash, they turn out blurry because I can't hold still enough.

Oh Dawna I'm so sorry.
Pia I received a card this year, which is more than I got last year. We agreed a long time ago not to spend the money on flowers, candy etc. but I do at least expect a card.
Jill I hear you, either do it ahead of time or don't bother, because then it's like an afterthought.
