Okay, y'all, let's hear it. Time for a battle of the sexes. When you're picking out stamps, what appeals to you more, boys or girls? Is your choice based on the sex of your child, the recipient of the card/project you are making, or just plain old personal preference? Boys VS Girls, who will win?!
Me? I'm all about the boys. Girls are great, but when I go looking I'm hunting for a fabulous boy image. No kids here, it's just plain personal preference. I think I identify with more of the "manly" colours.

Definitely, girls. And after that, whimsical animals, mostly cats and dogs. I only have a few of what I would call "boy" stamps, like robots and such.
The majority of the cards I make I send to my female friends. I love the Pure Innocence line from My Favorite Things and have a ton of those. I do have a cute PI set with a little guy in a cowboy hat and chaps.
I also have daughters and daughters-in-law who love getting cards for no special occasion, as well as their birthdays. The guys - not so much, but they do get birthday cards! I tend to use dog images for guys, lol.
I also have more granddaughters than grandsons, 15 girls vs. only 3 boys.
And, also, I tend to like "girl" colors the best, pink, purple, aqua, yellow, etc. Anything bright and cheerful floats my boat!

I think girl stamps appeal most (I am one after all), but do look for the occassional "boy" stamp because there are a few that I mail cards to. No children so just preference. Like Bugga in OK I tend to send more cards to women friends vs. men family. Have to keep boy in mind for DH, Dad, and brother, brother-in-law, use trees and other plants for them as they mostly enjoy plants and landscaping. Sea scape type stamps work well too. . .
Another for the "girls". . .
If I think strictly in terms of stamped images of boys, and images of girls, I usually pick girls. There are just more out there. I also love to use girly embellies on my cards like gems, lace, ribbon, and flowers.
I am always looking for nice boy images too, however. Some of my faves are by LOTV, I think they really capture the essence of "boyhood." They have their kids doing boy things like playing pirate, throwing balls, swinging from ropes, playing with planes and boats.
I also like Elisabeth Bell boy images, cos I love pretty much anything she draws, LOL. They are very cute.
Tickled pink had some really awesome teenage boy images, but I think they stopped producing rubber stamps, and only do digi now.
Another one is Mo Manning, her boy images are awesome too! She has stamps at Stamping Bella and Penny Black, and a digi line.
My favourite style of card definitely leans more to the masculine than ultra femme. I love clean lines, not overdoing on the embellishments and the colours I tend to use on masculine cards. That being said, I always tailor the card to the recipient so I definitely do a fairly good mix of both - though we have only three nephews and seven nieces. And most of our friends have daughters, there's only a couple of boys among our friends as well.
