Today is really manic for me, I have a lot of EI (Early Intervention) people coming to our house for my daughter. Well, they've been coming here for the last six months now and my daughter made some progress with other things like her motor skills etc... My daughter is almost three and she hardly speak a word...well, she does but sooo limited as in like 10 words over all!!! She loves to babble and sing with a good tune like you can tell if she's singing "Twinkle twinkle" etc...but talking or communication she's lack of...so that's why we need help from the EI

How about you...how's your day so far?
Awww I hope your visit goes well, Jas!
Preparing for another busy week here, too. My 7th grader has a TON of studying/work to do this week and my 1st grader will begin bringing homework home this week. She's excited, LOL- we'll see how long that lasts! haha!
Tonight we have soccer for my little one and dance for my eldest and one of the boys. Crock pot to the rescue tonight! What's for dinner, guys? I need some ideas Want to try something new

hey jas! glad to see you are back! i used to work as a speech therapist doing early intervention too! my youngest isn't the best speaker either but he talks a lot! just don't always know what he is saying. he's 4 now. it's hard to do therapy on your own kid though. i'm still hoping he'll improve more by the time he does to kindergarten.
the biggest challenge is picking up my 3 kids from 3 different schools with my daughter's one being the farthest out. today is not too bad since we don't have too much after school stuff but wednesday will be kind of tough. we'll see how it goes. simple dinners this week!
My day is crazy but for the next hour I have some down time so I hope to color and finish another load or two of laundry.
Jas, my youngest son didn't speak until he was 3 1/2. Both my younger boys have many issues with my 10 year old having some major ones. IE was a huge help to me as was the early childhood class at our school. Hang tough and stay on top of it when she get's in school you have to be her advocate.
Is everyone familiar with the game Anya Spies??????

I hope it all goes well for you, EI is sooo important! Hugs!
Today starts my manic 2 weeks of work! I have to work 11 of the next 12 days! I am not looking forward to it, but the paycheck is going to be a good one! I REALLY hope that I can find some time to stamp in there!
Jas,
Just jumping in here to give you some encouragement. I have a special needs daughter who is now 23. I can understand the frustration of wanting your child to improve NOW. It's so hard to wait. Just know that there are others out there that can relate and the you are not alone. Hang in there!
Janet
Ladies, thank you all for your input and encouragement... It gets really overwhelming sometimes. I'm sure glad and thankful for the EI's so looking forward to hear my daughter says "MAMA" to me...I hope that she'll get through this and next time I'll be complaining that she talks too much
I made Adobo yesterday and it's best to eat it the next day which is today. It's a Filipino dish and it's not a healthy one I must say but it's sooo good and simple. You need pork or chicken, black pepper, soysauce, vinegar, garlic and salt. Usually, I cook this when I'm lazy or don't know what to cook but I will need to change that soon because of my health issue.
My daughter didn't say more than one or two words at a time until age 8 and then all of a sudden the dam broke and she wouldn't stop talking! LOL She is still a talkaholic!

My daughter will be transfering to school next year and I hope she'll be talking by then. My eldest son was delayed too, he wasn't talking much when he was 2 but he likes to point, lol! He didn't qualify when we consulted with the EI and now I can't stop him from talking, lol! I hope that will happen to my daughter soon

Hi Jas and everyone else...It is the first time I join on the SCS forum..Still have to understand how it works exectly..
Jas It is important to follow any speach or other problems while the kids are young. Hope the therapy will give results.
My son had some speach problems which also giving writing problems but after 1 year of therapy everything seems to be solved.
Now about the TGF new launch, she is fantastic the new latte rubber lady. The premier team did a great job!
I would love to post my card for the SCS challenge...can anyone please explain me how to do it??
We have leftover pizza, but I still threw a pot of cajun beans on the stove a few hours ago. They'll be for tomorrow. I also have an eggplant from someone's garden (no, I didn't poach it!) that is waiting to be thrown in some green curry!
Jas, Good Luck! Sorry to hear about the issues you are experiencing. I just thought that I was having a Manic Monday - Hurricane Isaac is on his way to visit us....but this is nothing compared to what you are going through. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. Hope you are better soon!

About the challenge usually we give out the KEYWORD that you need to type so when you ulpoad your card it will go to the right place. Examples: card sketch challenge (TGFSC28) and also make it a habit to type also on a keyword: thegreetingfarm to make sure we see your card on the greeting farm gallery. Also, the greeting farm threads are always updated you will see there what's going on. If I'm missing something here I'm sure other DT's will help you as well...I hope this helps

OOOHHH I love filipino adobo! my mom is part filipino and she learned how to make this through her mom's side of the family =)
I just recently learned how to make it too =) it's really yummy!
do you use whole black peppers? or ground pepper?

Oh really, cool! I use ground pepper...I marinate it first for an hour and then cook it
My baby girl such a whiny today from the beginning of her therapy until now... I did everything like try to put her to sleep, give her favorite snack, sing to her, she did her number two and gave her a bath still not stopping??? Well, the whine that she's making is more like ATTENTION whine, lol! But too much today...can't wait for bed time

Wow... lots to catch up on. I have another full on work week this week, with appointments scattered throughout the mornings before heading in to work.
hopefully I will find time to play, although, last night when I sat down to craft, my mojo alluded me, again....
Finally, my baby girl is asleep now I'm exhausted, lol! Need my energy tomorrow heading to bed early.
I hope the storm won't be that bad... sending prayers to all.
My Monday was so manic, I haven't been on SCS all day!
We are trying to make minor preparations in case the edge of Isaac hits is (we are inland but just having moved we didn't have any candles, etc) as well as prepping for the baby. I am not due for a month, but everyone keeps tellin me I won't make it!
I still haven't managed much actual crafting time, but I unpacked the boxes my hubby stacked in front of my table so I am hoping to get inky tomorrow! I have two cards to make for a joint baby "sprinkle" and since both just want diapers I think I am going to do pretty ribbon and tags instead of wrapping too. Hopefully I can get all of it done tomorrow!
Jas - my son was hardly talking at 2 and they sent us to speech therapy. I didn't like her methods and decided to work with him on my own. Now he is five and I can't get him to stop chattering! It sounds like your case may be more suites to a professional, but be strong. Kids do things at their own pace.

My very new blog
Hi folks, just popping in to say Hi! Hope those of you in Isaac's path stay safe. Here in Ottawa we won't even see a glimmer of this one, but my Dad just went out to sea off the East Coast of Canada for the next month so he will be on my mind as this storm runs it's course. As for today's activities - I was almost relieved to get into the office today so I could sit down! Even my toes hurt last night from all the standing around in my kitchen yesterday - making spicy roasted tomato sauce from our garden's bounty this year AND dark chocolate almond and candied orange peel bark. 6.5 lbs of it in my refrigerator last night. Not quite so much there tonight! Loved the Latte Anya previews today! Can't wait to see the rest of the September release.
I NEED that Latte Anya...living here in Seattle...aka Starbucks land... today was a busy day at the beach for us...we went to a Wildlife park where we got to pet a baby cougar, baby bobcat, baby bear, baby white skunk, red fox.... a bunch of other things, but I lost track after a while. They had a white tiger...the most beautiful creature I have ever seen... we then went to the seal caves... I'm pooped....had to stop and see anya though...glad dh brought his laptop!!
