Default Finally Back Home In Wisconsin

Hello Girls ...

So fun to see where everyone is in good ole' Wisconsin.

Well, I grew up in Shorewood/WFB, married my husband in 1994 & moved to Wauwatosa and in 1997 moved to Atlanta GA for DH job. Had my 2nd son, Matthew in 98 and wanted to move back closer to family ... so in 2000 we moved to Rockford IL and lived there for 5 years ... and just w/in the last couple of months have relocated back HOME! We know live in Oak Creek, suburb of Milwaukee and it is good to be home. I miss our friends in Rockford dearly (seewah) but it is good to be home ... all of our family is here.

Kicker of it all is that we have a child from each state ... thank god we already have Milwaukee covered Jacob - Milwaukee '95; Matthew - Atlanta '98 & Sarah - Rockford '01.

Amy, what high school did you attend? Shorewood or WFB? My husband's parents were both teachers at WFB. Frank and Kathrine Laycock.

Did you have them as teachers?

OMG ... when I started ready your message about which HS and that your in-laws taught there ... the first name that came to my head before I read it was Frank. I never had him but know of the name. Your mother-in-law, however is not familiar to me ... BUT they would both be familiar to my dad as he just retired last year from WFB and has taught there since 1972 ... Jack Bleier.

What did they teach ... I think your father-in-law was still there when I was there ... I graduated in 1988.

What a small world

another lifetime Wisconsinite here!

I was born in LaCrosse, grew up on a dairy farm in northern LaCrosse County, lived in LaCrosse while attending college, then in Onalaska several years, then in Greenfield (Milwaukee suburb) for three years and now I'm back in Onalaska.

Hi

Hope you don't mind me hijacking this thread - but you'll see why in a minute. I am from England and my husband is a great Packer fan. In fact he came out last year to the PPCC reception. Just seeing if anyone knows him or is a Packer fan - His name is Bruce and I think most people know him as Bruce the Brit. Would love to hear from anyone that does.

Thank you and sorry about the hijacking

WOW! That is too cool!

Frank Laycock taught Theatre and Drama.
He actually taught Oprah Winfrey in his drama class and he gave her a B- for the semester! Frank also taught Kirsten Johnston (actress from Third Rock from the Sun) in his Drama class. Kirsten's parents still live in the in the WFB or Shorewood area. Kirsten Johnston was Smitty in a WFB "How to Succeed in Business without really Trying" back in the 80s. Frank still has the tape of it!

Kathrine taught History and she was a teachers aid as well.

Small world indeed!

I'll have to ask my in-laws if they know Jack Bleier.

My husband is Frank (named after his dad!)

I am in Wisconsin too! I am in Waukesha County, by Delafield. I am surprised there are so many cheeseheads on here! How cool! Are there ever any stamping get togethers around here? Maybe we will bump into each other at a packer game sometime! I have got to get my hubby tickets this year, he's told me like 5 times he wants to go to a game this season!

Default Lonely in Marinette

We moved to Marinette from living in Madison for 15 years in December for hubbie's job. I so miss my stampin club and the stamp supply shopping. I'm originally from Green Bay and most of my family lives there. I love living "up north" but sure miss the stamping fun available in Madison.

Default Life Long Wisconsinite

Hi, I'm here in Wisconsin too. I was born in Richland Center, lived in Avoca prior to age 5. Then in Madison area for 35 years - graduated from LaFollette HS. Then back to Avoca for 9 years and now in Lone Rock.

I wouldn't live anyplace else but Wisconsin. I love the seasonal changes in weather, the Packers, the Badgers and Wisconsin brats.

Glad to see there are so many with ties to Wisconsin and I know of several others on SCS from Wisconsin who haven't responded to this thread.

Looking forward to the Northwoods Gathering II in Wausau in October. How many of you all are going to be there? Will be nice to put faces with the names.

Sue

Hi Deb!

I'm in the Town of Middleton (4 miles west of the Beltline, just off of Mineral Point Road). Where do you live? Perhaps we could get together sometime.

Y'all are making me homesick! I was born and raised in Milwaukee, went to HS in Tosa. College in Winona, MN, just over from LaCrosse, where I lived while student teaching. DH and I moved to Denver-area 5 years ago and I really miss home... especially the food and the festivals and the Brewers! The heat? Not so much.

I am here in Madison WI close to downtown And I don't like scrapping alone....(sigh)....we need to have a scrap night somewhere!!!

How about those Badgers? 4-0 woo-hoo...

And I am not going to even mention that other FB team...
Too funny!! I miss Madison, lived there a few years ago and absolutely loved it. We'll be in Madcity again for the Badgers last home game. I CANNOT WAIT!! So sad to see BA go... Now we live in Kenosha.

Talking hi all!

hey there!!

I am from Pulaski... Originally from "up north" as most people say... A little town called Amberg (north of Crivitz, north of Wausaukee, north of Marinette)

Moved to Green Bay for college, met my hubby moved to Allouez for 5 years and last year we moved out to Pulaski.... I love Wisconsin and couldn't think of living anywhere else (although a vacation home someplace warm for jan/feb would be nice)

Anyone close to me??? I work in Howard for Lamers and drive for the Howard/Suamico school disctrict... Maybe I drive some of your kids... ha ha ha!!!

Nice to meet all of you and I noticed that there are a lot of people from down south by Milwaukee & Sheboygan area... We need more people from the Heart of Packer country... Now don't get me wrong... I am not that big of a football fan, but when I watch it's usually the Pack and not much else...

A get-together close to Green Bay would be nice, wouldn't it????

I'm in Platteville.

I was just reading this thread and everyone talking about the heat we had this summer...Tee hee....I'm cold. I grew up in Texas and lived in Seattle for awhile...I'm cold today. I want the heat back...I know of one other SCS in Platteville any others in SW Wisconsin.
