Leah - where are you at in Utah? I'm sure if you get all the specs figured out, there would be plenty to join in. I headed up the last one and willing to pass the torch to anyone willing.
I am in Clinton, by Ogden. You mentioned that you were on the last one, what is it that you were on? (having trouble posting, hope this isn't a doouble post.)
Leah
I live in Orem but most of my stamping buds live up where you are. We did a shoebox swap in September in Orem so we're about due for a get together up there.
I would love to be included. I had a great support group of people to scrap with, but they all moved away, and I have tried to reestablish some new connections without success. I work odd hours, so that probably has something to do with it. I also had a group of local people that we did a card swap every other month, and double scrapbook layout on the odd months. I really miss that, and it costs a bunch to mail them.

I'm interested! I'm in SLC. I was planning on being at the last one, but then my father passed away, so I couldn't come. I'm ready to come out of hiding and get back with it.
I live almost across the street from St. Marys about a block north. Wish we could find a venue to host this event at. If you need help let me know

Maybe we could just set up a casual swap. I love swaps, and I was in a local group and it died out. I do swaps on SCS, but the postage is so expensive, it limits me.

Hey Leah... I would like to join if this gets off the ground and depending on when and where... are you thinking shoebox swap of just a swap? I'll keep checking this forum but it sounds like it could be fun.

I love to get together for a shoebox swap. I'm in school now, but finish soon and might be willing to organize one. Would any of you be interested if it was in Centerville? I have a possible location for one there. We've had one there a couple of times and did the shoebox and a pot lunch. It was really fun.
Hi All,
School's out for the summer for me, so I can think about fun stuff now. May looks kind of busy with Mother's Day, Memorial Day and the end of the school year for some. So, how about a get together in June? I will talk with my sister and see when her condo clubhouse is available. We have met there in the past and done a pot luck. There is lots of room, tables, chairs, a kitchen (but no stove/oven), etc. Is has been a lot of fun, so, please post your preferences for which weekend in June and I will start a new thread for sign ups next week.
My kids don't get out of school until July 2nd. I usually have a commitment on the third Sat, but I can move the time around if needed. Other than that, I think any weekend would be great. Awesome of you to take this on!
Leah
I think that day will work for me too. It's my anniversary on the 14th of June and we will probably plan something for that evening. As long as it doesn't go too late!
My daughter's birthday is the 14th, but I have no idea what we will be doing. Maybe I could plan something for Fri night...Sun in Utah isn't a big party day. Hmmm, if I wanted to make sure the party was small, I could plan something for Sun.
Leah
I'm waiting to hear from my sister about June 13th. IF we start around 10am, stop and eat lunch around noon, we could probably be finished around 3-4, depending on how may sign up.
I would still like to come too. Can some one make sure I understand how a shoebox swap runs, I've never been to one. You just bring everything, pre-cut to make your swaps (just like a make-n-take) in a shoebox so to speak. And that is what we are doing plus a pot luck? Sounds like so much fun! Thanks Mischief for taking this one : )

The 13th looks good for for me. I have a conference all that week, but it ends Friday and it is at BYU so it won't be a problem. Amy car pool would be fun.

I haven't forgotten you all! My sister is waiting for the gal from her condo association to check to see if the clubhouse is open that day. I should know by Monday.
I haven't forgotten, I'm just still waiting to hear from my sister. The gal who books the clubhouse was out of town, I will know tonight, tomorrow,at the latest.
Here is a description that I lifted from another post, to answer some of the simpler questions. Anybody have anything to add?
What is a Shoebox Swap you ask?
Each person brings samples of a completed card and they make kits for everyone else in the swap to make the exact same item. All the materials in the kit are placed into a baggie and then all the baggies are placed into a shoebox or basket along with anything else needed to complete the project. Each participant brings their “shoebox” to the swap prep’ed and ready to teach the group how to make their card.
You must bring all the tools, supplies and materials so each person has what is needed to complete your project. Each project should take about 15-20minutes. You will present your project similar to a class type setting.
Each person should bring their own basic tool kit to speed things along. Your kit should contain scissors, bone folder, adhesive, personal cutter scoring blade, glue & pop dots.
