WI * Who else lives in Wisconsin???

Me,me,me...I do!!!

I live in Kaukauna...(say that 10 times fast...lol)

Which is in between Appleton and Green Bay.

So who else here is from WI?

mommyof2 07-24-2005 08:31 PM

I'm in the Town of Middleton (Verona mailing address) just a few miles west of Madison.

msamethyst1 07-24-2005 08:37 PM

Hey I even know where Kaukauna is ;) My Dad grew up there and my grandparents lived there til the late 70s.

I grew up in Amherst, college in La Crosse, 2 years in Antigo and have been living in the Madison area for the last 19 years.

Hi neighbor!!!!

Sairabee 07-24-2005 08:45 PM

Mandy!
Why didn't you tell me you were from Wisconsin?!?! LOL. jk. ;)

I'm here... In good ol' Oshkosh. Born here, lived here most of my life with the exception of a short residence in both De Kalb, IL (to hook dh), and Wheeling, IL (to reel him in)... lol!

SOndrik 07-24-2005 09:03 PM

I am originally from Superior, and moved to Solon Springs when I got married almost four years ago!!!

chandralyn 07-24-2005 09:17 PM

Originally from LaCrosse

I now live about a half hour drive up the road near Trempealeau. So did everyone enjoy the 105 degree heat index today?

rockfestqueen 07-24-2005 09:38 PM

Who lives in WI

I live in Menomonie, close to Eau Claire (also only about 50 miles from MN border).
No, I have not been enjoying the heat.

Kaye

Frisky Feline 07-24-2005 09:42 PM

I'm in West Allis, which is actually in Milwaukee County. I cannot take this heat either. Crazy. So neat that there are so many Wisconsinites here. :)

mmferg 07-24-2005 09:42 PM

Sarah...sorry I thought I told you ;)

What is the deal with the heat this summer?!?!? I thought I was going to melt toady!

mmferg 07-25-2005 05:18 AM

anyone else?

Badger_Hockey 07-25-2005 05:22 AM

Me, Me... I'm in Verona too :)

I'm going to the Northwoods Gathering on October 15th.

cbet 07-25-2005 05:44 AM

Wausau here. And this is not what Wisconsin weather is supposed to be! And no, I will not be missing it this winter when it's 20 below. Because I can always add an extra sweater. But there's a limit to the number of layers you can remove before you get arrested.

greetingsbydebra 07-25-2005 05:49 AM

I'm a cheesehead, too. Waaaay up north in Hurley, close to Lake Superior.

And I also hate this ultra hot summer we've had. If I wanted humid 90's I'd live in Florida (which I did for a year). Give me 65 or give me....umm...64.

valentina9 07-25-2005 07:15 AM

I am in Superior, right on Lake Superior (actually St Louis Bay) and I too am SICK of this heat! 3 showers a day just to be comfortable is time consuming!

honeybun 07-25-2005 07:21 AM

I'm from Wisconsin too. I live in Madison.

I've been working on fall cards, I am WAY ready for fall!!!

uffdastamper 07-25-2005 07:32 AM

I live in Kenosha, I was born and raised a cheesehead! I grew up in Watertown! I went to college in MN and we lived in DH's hometown in ND after that, but have been back in WI for about 7 yrs. now and LOVE it! (DH and DS love WI and have both become total cheeseheads, DH loves the Packers and he grew up a Viking's fan!) :)

But this heat is too much! Suppose to be a 30 degree temperature change from Sunday's hot temps by Wednesday! Glad to hear it! No cool lake breeze yesterday, that was for sure!

up4stampin2 07-25-2005 07:42 AM

Born and raised in the Fox Valley myself! It is great to see all the Wisconsin people on here! Keep 'em coming!

Colleen Schaan 07-25-2005 10:24 AM

do I count?

I am from Green Bay, but I currently live in Washington...hey, send some of that heat this way!

I am not a Wisconsinite, but DH is. We just got back from a weeklong visit and I couldn't believe how hot it was. I was so looking forward to relief from the Texas heat. Imagine my dismay when I went to the Milwaukee zoo in 90 degree heat. It felt the same as my 102 degree Texas weather because of the humidity. Luckily, we got some rain in the middle of the week and it cooled down some.

LaurieR 07-25-2005 11:20 AM

I was born in West Allis, raised in Oconomowoc, and currently live in Waukesha.

Valentina9 - I am so jealous that you live in Superior. Hubby and I are actually talking about moving to Duluth. We really love Lake Superior. It is SO awesome up there!

stampwcathy 07-25-2005 11:37 AM

I'm also from Wisconsin specifically Sturtevant which is in Racine county. I was born and raised here.

I'm not complaining about the weather though. Flew home from convention yesterday where it was 100 degrees in Utah, Denver was no better, Chicago was 104 and Milwaukee was near that too. Think the entire country is feeling this horrible heat. I'm excited to be home so I can stamp in my COOL basement using all the new techniques I saw.

GrandmaLe 07-25-2005 11:44 AM

I was born in Osceola, WI. Grew up in Somerset, WI.
Moved to Sauk City, WI in the early 70's. Currently live in Sun Prairie, WI.

And yes this weather is way to hot for WI.

Edited to add Somerset

twinkle 07-25-2005 02:02 PM

Count me in!! I am from Milwaukee!!! :D

munhaven 07-25-2005 04:54 PM

I live in Fort Atkinson, which is about 20 miles north of Janesville. If you've ever been to the Fireside, you've been to Fort Atkinson.

We're also home to a HUGE Relay For Life fund-raiser. Our city raised $286,000 this past weekend and we're a city of only 11,000!

Feline friend 07-25-2005 05:09 PM

I'm from Sun Prairie. Lived here my entire life...I'm not complaining about the heat. I love the seasons that we have here.

kathi b 07-25-2005 06:53 PM

I am also from good old Milwaukee!

riderseeker 07-25-2005 08:40 PM

GrandmaLe,
I was born in Osceola but grew up on the Mn side of the border after that.

Cindy

mmferg 07-25-2005 08:40 PM

How about these storms tonight!??! I am glad to see the rain :) Yippee no more straw for grass!!!

But really mother nature is it necessary to keep knocking out the power...I am trying to enjoy my SCS!!! :)

dbeltt 07-25-2005 08:53 PM

Another Superior stamper here!

Stampinonthefarm 07-26-2005 06:16 AM

I'm from New Richmond, just east of the Twin Cities, MN. We have had enough of the heat. My daughter called me at work this morning to say it was cold in the house! I said Thank Goodness! Don't complain. We may be able to sleep tonight! Those hot nights were awful. Our county fair was last weekend, in Glenwood City, and the poor animals were just miserable!

Osceola is just north of us. I have a friend here at work who grew up there and lives in NR now.

We're headed to Milwaukee on a 4-H trip next week. Is the zoo as wonderful as I remember when I was a kid?

uffdastamper 07-26-2005 06:33 AM

Stampinonthefarm ~ Yes, the zoo is still great! Have fun in Milwaukee!

This is so awesome that there are so many WI stampers on here! :)

Go Packers! (Sorry, mini hi-jack I can't wait to see them start playing again, I don't want summer to end, but I miss the Pack! Especially Mr. Farve ;) )

flowergirl 07-26-2005 07:54 AM

Who lives in Wisconsin? I do!

I'm in Oconomowoc, right between Madison and Milwaukee. Such a fun name. Glad to hear there are so many stamping sisters in this great state.

And about this heat, it helps us appreciate the beautiful fall that much more! (Go Packers!) I grew up where there were no four seasons.

Stampinonthefarm, we recently visited the Milwaukee zoo, where we got to see stingrays, and even "pet" them. VERY COOL. I could have stayed there all day, but the kids wanted to move on.

kfamilystamper 07-26-2005 08:13 AM

I am in Wisconsin too...Kenosha to be exact. DH and I were both born and raised in Appleton, both families are still there so we are up in that area often. We both went to school at UW-Madison (GO BADGERS!!) and landed here after college.

I actually have a cousin and a very good friend in Kaukauna. Heard a funny story about someone who thought Kaukauna Cheese was an exoctic cheese from Hawaii!

Nice to know there are other Cheesehead stampers!! There was a thread recently about a gathering in the Fox Valley area...have any plans been made? I would like to join you if I am available!! :)

kfamilystamper 07-26-2005 08:15 AM

Oh and yes I do know Uffdastamper! She is the reason I am addicted to this site! ;)

GrandmaLe 07-26-2005 09:53 AM

Cheryl,
The Zoo in Milwaukee is just great!! We took our grandkids a few weeks ago. Even though it was hot, they have lot of places to sit down. Walkway thru the woods and building with ac. We had the best time!

New Richmond was my place to hang out as a teen.

sassyat30 07-26-2005 10:59 AM

Me too, me too!!

I also live in the Fox Cities area!! Actually, Mandy, when I do a demo locator on SU!, your name comes up for me!!

So so glad it's only 73 degrees today!! Even though our pool is about to overflow with the 4+ inches of rain we got last night!! :)
