Nancy & Tilly, I just got on and I see someone has put in for sandwich
meat, rolls and cheese so disregard what was on my form and put me down for macaroni & cheese.( Say all that without taking a breath.) Will there be an oven for reheating?
I'm already stressing over 34 shoeboxes. I may need to change my idea because I think it will take to long. If I could stamp and crystal effect, it would save time. I'll let you know what i decide and give you a title at that time.
I put Mary Ann's, Lou Ann's and my registration forms and payment in this morning's post.

Pam - I always find it difficult to make an "easy" card for these too. I always want to give it a WOW factor and that's the extra time.

SO... that said ... let's all try for CAS for the shoebox projects. Save the WOW factor for your swaps. BUT, do not stress about this. Some projects can take a little extra time, just not ALL of them. AND, you can do a CAS card with a different fold or a pretty paper that doesn't add extra time. JUST A SUGGESTION MIND YOU.

If you're going to do CF, maybe you could swap up your idea with the shoebox idea?? That way you can crystal effect before the event

I would prefer to stamp my own images - just gluing a card together is no fun! Along with Nancy's suggestion on pretty paper and different folds, punches are quick and using embellishments easily adds to the design.

I've been searching the gallery for the rolodex cards! Are they supposed to be restricted to the size of the die? Do you normally use 80# CS as the base? Any input for this Polock would be helpful

Karen (kmk24) - I agree about stamping my own images. And, if it's to be punched and stamped, I wanna do that myself too!!

I'm really just trying to avoid the nightmare card (much like I've prepared in the past ) with lots of punches and a difficult "build". Trying to avoid alot of coloring .... etc. That sort of thing.

It's certainly fine to need embossing and stamping a few colors with a few layers and some embellishments. I don't want to have 30 one layer, one stamp, one sentiment cards either. Really, just use your own best judgement.

It should be able to be finished in 15 minutes or less. That's really the goal.

I see Joann's has Ciao for $3.59 and the Sketch are $5.24. Plus they are offering free shipping through Sat, 1/28 with no min order. What a deal!

There are ovens there... The kitchen area is very nice. We'll be able to put out all of our goodies on a big counter at the entrance to the kitchen. It's about 10 steps from our stamping room.
I am a little concerned about the temperature of the room. As I recall, it's sometimes cool in there. So, bring a sweater just in case.
There's a small parking lot (about 12 cars??) when you arrive at the spot my directions take you. BUT .. if the parking lot is full, proceed through the parking lot to the exit (near the building). It will bring you right out to another parking lot across the street. You probably can unload prior to parking across the street.

At least 80# cardstock for the Rolodex will be great so it will be sturdy! See post #141 for a couple of samples in Pat's swap.

Altered Rolodex Card due 11/20*POSTAL*

No restrictions on my part. It's fine with me if tabs, embellishments, etc. go beyond the actual die size...adds to the interest.

CAS = Clean And Simple.

I've settled on my shoebox design and I think a rainy day like today might be perfect for getting it all prepped.

Still have no ideas for my ATC. I tried playing with it a couple of times this week, but nothing.

Guess I need to type faster to beat Nancy

I started developing the idea for my Rolodex swap last night and did some die cutting. I also have an idea of something different (not a card) to do for my shoebox that I've never seen done before for a shoebox and need to come up with the design.

Does anyone else have allergies on high alert this week??? A guy came in this morning with too much "stinky" on and my nose has been crazy ever since. Our employee just opened the outside door while smoking and I have an instant headache. MAN! I wish he'd stop smoking! The winter is the worst because he sits in his car and then his clothes STINK when he comes in. Sorry...I just needed to vent! Having a "super nose" is not fun. I really am glad my nose works...just if it could be not AS sensitive...

Arlene, anything different is good and you ladies come up with the best ideas. Tha's why I'm soo upset to be not able to go to the gathering at the end of March. Look forward to the end of February. I need a snow day but first we need snow!

Arlene, I know just where you're at. It doesn't take much to get my allergies
raging. Colognes and smoke are an instant headache and then the eyes
start to tear and the nose starts to run.Hope you feel better!
I was wondering how you do the Roledex; are they used like a Roledex with a place for addresses or are the decorated to the hilt? They sound like they might be fun.

Pam.... it's just like anything else, but in the shape of a rolodex card. Think ATC but shaped differently. I know I, and many others, usually make them inspirational. So, you could put a file full of them on your desk and flip through them from one day to the next.
We also have a swap going that is themed for the month. I plan to make a birthday file out of those.
