I see that we are all from different parts so drive times are different depending on the venue.

BTW - I'm looking forward to this round table -- I have been known to be a little slow so I'll have to push myself to be a little faster if I want to get them all done. Hopefully I'll be up for the challenge.
Bo ... some of us have met at events around the state and are addicted to them. I'm lucky enough to be in the center of the state, so none in NY are more than 4 hours. BUT, that said, we (a band of 5 or 6 diehards) have traveled to Boston and northern NJ for events. We've met so many fun ladies that when they have another, we sign up and go. We sometimes stay overnight, but not always. We always carpool and share the costs. The organizer from the Boston event traveled to the Buffalo event with us last year. I work full time, but still find time to finish my swaps (sometimes late at night) and travel about one (sometimes 2) Saturdays a month to stamp with friends.

Are you in a position to organize an event in your area? That would be a good way to bring some stampers out to meet you. Or, be patient, someone from your area may pop up soon.

I could organize something but the only person who'd come is Cheryl and maybe Bev (she came to Syracuse last spring). No one around here understands what these are.

To be honest, I am scarred for life from my first 'shoebox'. I was invited to a small local shoebox event and I had no idea what a Shoebox was. It was given by a lady who was a PITA-customer/TAC consultant that Cheryl and I both knew. The location was less than desirable and when I told the the lady what my idea for the shoebox was, she told me that I needed to beef it up because it was too plain. It was a horrible experience all together (I stayed up until 3 am to agonize over my 'plain' project while most of the other ladies' items were mis-cut, used cheap paper, and were definitely plainer than my original idea. -- I threw out all of the projects except 2 - Cheryl's and another lady's. Also the ladies were just so nit-picky and rude.) So after that trauma, I stuck to mail swaps for a long time.

I'm glad for the ones relatively close. I literally work 3 jobs (full time Teaching Assistant, work before and after school care, and sell CTMH to keep me in cardstock and supplies) and I prepare income taxes in Jan/Feb. so I don't always have travel time. I spend summers in GA with my grandgirls so not much crafting during Grammy time.

Sandee -- I'm coming from Oswego area

I lived in Boonville for a few years (right off Moose River Rd.) ---- Loved it there but hated the drive to work during the winter.

I'm so sad I can't make this one... especially missing the twisted swap! We made Garnet Hill reservations before the date was set.

I'm hoping Melissa will make it and share the goodies.

YEAH! Sandee's coming!!! Bummer, Heidi, but at least we'll see you in March!

WOW, Bo, that was an awful experience! Thankfully we're not like that! We have the full range of experience levels amongst our "Faux Friends" so we're a COOL group! We met you in Syracuse because I have your business card floating around on my computer desk so sent you an email recently.

Then I guess I just need to organize them into 2 boxes? I think I'll look for a rubbermaid tote or something more sturdy and with room to grow. LOL

Ladies....I have successfully unorganized my new crafting space! Broke it in well tonight....lost track of time down there, but I got my shoebox and ATC figured out and mostly prepped! Probably should have kept going tonight, but Mom & Dad are coming in the morning, church, need to make lunch at some point.....maybe I'll get back to it tomorrow night!

I haven't attached a photo before...

Yeah! It worked! On the left side are 4 of my 5 plastic bins. On the right side a close up of the tabs. Animals, Anniversary-Love-Wedding-Baby, Beach-Travel.

like arlene-busy here cleaning, purge & sorting. but as we all know. it just creates more piles first. i'm deep in the mess
plus the mess of having FIL for about 3 weeks. allen & his sibling swear "pig pen" was based on him. after having him for 3 wks i agree!

I'm all set for ATC club. ATCs are done, project is done, and the house is "sort of" ready. It'll be tough to get dinner made, ate, and cleaned up before 6:30.
I started an organizing plan for my clear sets. I'm not sure I love it yet. I may leave it for a week or so to see how I like it before I finish it. Like most of you, my problem is SPACE!! My craft room is 8 x 8 and CHOCK full. A little scary to outsiders!!

Hi Ladies!!

I am hoping I can make this one. I need to check with my mom to make sure she'll be around that weekend, so that she can watch the kids for me. DH is leaving for his ski trip out west that weekend, so I'll need to bring the kids with me. Bummer Heidi can't come, but I'll check with Shari to see if she can make it. She can stay at my mom's with me.

I'll let you know soon!!!

I have a 5th bin that's all cling background stamps. I'm actually surpised that these are all the clear stamps I have! Thankfully I don't have more! LOL! I also put labels on the spines of my DVD cases. I used the biggest point size on the P-Touch so I can actually SEE the labels. I put all the cases in alphabetical order on the Benno bookcase, too. I put the labels on some of the SU! stamps that I never mounted and now need to put Aleene's Tack It Over glue on them. I'm really thinking it would be nice to have all the "Thank You", "Best Wishes", animal, Halloween, etc. stamps in DVD cases by categories. I have a bunch of Lizzie Anne monthly sets that are a mix of stamps and those sets don't really "make sense" as sets so it seems like I'd use them more if I separated them into categories.

Arlene.... I have a spread sheet for all of my SU sets that is up to date, as a list!! Yay me!!

But what I've started and NOT finished is the addition of all of the words from each set also on the spreadsheet. I'm adding to it as I pull sets out and use them, but may NEVER finish it.
But... my hope is that I can search my file for "thank" and come up with all my options for "thanks" and "thank you". KWIM?? Remind me...... and I'll show you what I've started.
See you tomorrow!

Thanks, Arlene for posting the bins. That gives me some direction on organizing my clear stamps. I worked on sorting cards today plus between yesterday & today I uploaded a bunch of my cardc & all my ATCs. I may have a few cards & recipe cards left to do then I want to upload the scrapbook pages I've done.

By the way....YEAH I have tomorrow off!!! If my husband goes to work I'll probably go to Cookiestampers for a while.

Lou Ann - good for you. I'm so bad about uploading. I never think anything is good enough.
Have a nice day off to those that aren't working. Sadly, I am not off.

OMG Nancy, your projects are alway top notch...mine not so much but I can see my progress since I started.

Looks like I'm not going to Cookiestampers today but my horoscope says I'm suppose to funnel my engery into a projecxt and the success will perk me up. So it's gotta be something stamping related because cleaning a closet just won't cut it!!

It's nice to see you ladies are not adverse to 'clear stamps' -- I have a hard time using wood-mounted stamps because I learned to stamp using clear ones. I will have to bring my 'CTMH extras' for the 'garage sale'.

Gift Swap Ė You donít have to sign up for this one, but if you would like to participate, bring a wrapped gift related to our stamping passion. We will draw for those so that everyone who brings one will also leave with one. Value on these should be in the $5-10 range, and stamped projects are always appreciated! If itís something youíd like to take home, itís probably perfect! Be sure to include your name somewhere inside so the lucky winner knows who to thank. REMEMBER: Stamping-related!!!

I have only been to two of the Syracuse events and I still get confused, so please bear with my questions...

Is the gift swap when you bring something (like an extra stamp set) or is that where you make something (like the uber-popular brown paper wrapped package that everyone wanted in Syracuse) ??
