You're currently viewing Splitcoaststampers as a GUEST. We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
Cost is 15.00 and will cover the cost of the room, lunch food, and some door prizes if we get 20-30 people registered. The registration form is attached on this thread.
This event will be a shoebox swap, so bring supplies for everyone attending to make a card that you design. It really helps to have your supplies prepared for easy assembly . . . precut cardstock, your inkpads out, some cleaner if necessary.
We will have rotating stations so we can all meet each other and stamp! From the results of our poll . . . . mostly Stampin' Up! supplies would be best, but as long as the supplies are high quality, bring it on! Everyone bring your own general adhesive, and anything you need to have (bone folder. . .paper snips . . . you know what you can't get along without)
Here is the list of those attending I will indicate that I have received your payment as the registration forms arrive, the address to mail the form and check to is on the form.

And I am even thinking of making it a total get-away for dh & me. I checked out the hotels & found a nice one, not too expensive.
If he doesn't want to come, I'll bring a friend & we'll stay the weekend!!

I'm there. Yeah I can't wait. If you guys need any help with anything let me know. I am right on Route 7 between Seven Corners & Bailey's Crossroads. I would be happy to help with set up and clean up. Can't wait.

BUMPING!! Wow, this is great. Anyone who wants to stay overnight, let me know and we can plan a dinner somewhere -- if you want!! I'd offer a room to sleep, but my elderly mom is very frail and, oh never mind, you get the point!!

I'm bumping again. One more note in response to a pm I got -- several folks attending may be demos for SU or various other companies. This is NOT a selling/recruiting event for anyone. Just a time to meet and have stamping fun! The location should be ideal. It is the clubhouse by my community pool. It has a kitchen (which may or may not have a full fridge for swim team), but we will make sure there is ice, soda, and order some type of lunch brought in, probably pizza. There is a bathroom in the building, and free parking. Door prizes?? yes, more on that later!!
I am placing the fee for renting the place in the mail today. Woohoo.

I am going to be in Ontario Canada on the 8,9,10th of June, and I am supposed to drive to VA to see my grandma after that -- so, if it is the 17th, I might just be able to be there, even though I live in AZ. I will have to get Great Grandma to babysit the kids -- we will see. Keep me posted on this event. My Grandma lives in Springfield, VA! So close to Annandale
Cris, I got your registration in the mail today, I will keep the list updated on the original post to reflect those whose forms I have received. Thanks!

I'm really hoping to come!!!!! I'm going to mention it to my husband tomorrow and I might need hotel info. Were 2 hrs away but, dh and I need a night away. I really hope to be there. Is there anything my dh can do while were stamping that isn't to far away??
There really is a lot of other things to do in the area, depending on what his interests may be. (My husband would LOVE some babysitting company LOL) Joan may be better to answer for her immediate area, there are historical sites or Washington D.C. or good shopping places . . . .I'll put you on the list!

Thanks! I'm really getting excited about meeting everyone. My dh has been gone all day now hes with his "buddies" when he gets home tonight I'll show him this thread. Maybe him and some other hubbies from here could get together and hang out. I'm going to be in DC on May 13th on an all day "field trip" with the college I attend. I attend a business college and the medical director thought it would be "fun." I'll be scooping out places that he might like.
I'm soooooooo excited! I talked it over with my hubby and he said o.k!!!!!!!!!!!!! We're going to ask my mom or his mom if they'll keep the kids and we're going to get a hotel room for the night. I'll get my $15.00 in the mail soon. Tonight we're going to check hotels online. Can't wait to meet everyone.
I just answered a PM from Restongal . . .I just wanted to let everyone know, if you have a friend or such that is interested in coming they are more than welcome. Just print out a form for them and have them indicate that they are a friend of yours under the SCS screen name if they don't have one. This will just be a way that we can contact them if we need to.

Absolutely anything (well, except dirty laundry and toddlers) You can make something handstamped, you can bring a goodie bag of embellishments, you can bring a stamp set that you never got around to mounting and using, you can make it an assortment of good smelling lotions, a gift certificate to something . . . . your imagination is the limit. This is just a little extra fun for the afternoon. If you have questions about whether or not something is appropriate then just PM me.

Okay, we have 9 ladies now, which certainly makes a cozy little party . . . at this rate we will be able to recoup the cost of the room and do a few little extras. I am excited to meet everyone here, and I hope you ladies are as well.
I stated before, please feel free to invite other stampers you know, even if they aren't SCSers. I am going to invite a lady from my church who is a SU demo, I hope she can make it because she is a very nice lady!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Kristina....I'm very excited to meet everyone too! This will be the first time in 8 yrs. that my dh and I went away without the kids for a weekend. I told him he is welcome to stay and stamp with us (he is registered with Stampin' Up! as my demo support). He said hes going to look around for a nice place for us to eat Sat. night. Any recommendations???? We love seafood.
It is always great to get away without the kids! I will defer the seafood restaurant to Joan . . . My husband and I have been Olive Garden/Red Lobster/Outback nerds recently. We just go where we know the menu. I will ask around at church and work though if Joan doesn't have any suggestions.

Josette,
There are a couple good ones in the Tyson's Corner area. Legal Seafoods is in Tysons Galleria Mall, and Coastal Flats is in Tysons Corner Center right across the street, I work for mall management at Tysons Corner Center, so of course I am partial to Coastal. I have eaten there 4 times and they have great food and service. Some of my coworkers have eaten at Legal Seafoods and say it is great too.
So now on another note, I have lived here for 1 1/2 years, and have never been to a scrapbook store. Can anyone tell me where some are? I just can't believe I have not run into any yet.

Ok, slight (well major hijack here) A great scrapbook store near me closed last year! Ugh. There is nothing nearby -- the closest is in Sterling, VA which isn't that far from Tysons. I think it is called Recollections or something like that -- i've never been there. Also, Cami's Paperie in Purcellville - way out the Dulles Green way and beyond -- is an awesome store. Mainly rubber stamps but tons of gorgeous unique papers as well. Huge used rubber sale on May 20th -- I'll be there selling 4 huge boxes of stuff.
You work for mall management??? Wow. I hope it is fun, the new addition to Tysons has made that place huge!
Love Coastal Flats and Legal Seafood as well. Can't go wrong with either place. Neither takes reservations, but you can call ahead with Coastal Flats and get on the wait list -- do that for a Saturday night. There is also a huge mulitplex movie theater upstairs from Coastal Flats. Have a ball.
Now, back to June 17th. Let's get some more stampers on board!!

What a wonderful idea! I'll be there and I'm bringing at least one fellow stamper-Kim. We will be coming from the Germantown, MD area. I printed out the registration form and will get it mailed this week.

Excellent! We can't wait to meet you. I added you to the list in the original post.
