Melissa, looks like a nice crowd for January. Welcome, to all new stampers. All of the "old stampers" can't wait to see you all again. Also, no new rules on stamp sets to use? I think we were trying just to use SU's current sets? Looking forward to January!
Dee
Hi Dee! Yes, that would be great to carpool! I'll PM you my number.

Take care,
Barb

You ladies have just made my day... well, if the rest of the group agrees. I am not a SU demo, and up until Christmas I only had one SU set. I am already worried about how I can compare to you more experienced stampers, and am still fretting about what to make. But if the no restrictions goes through, it will be a lot easier for me! TY

Kelly, I just checked out your gallery, and you do beautiful work! Don't fret!!!! Really! We are all just stampers looking to get together with other stampers for a day of stamping and fun.

No bullet-proof vest needed. I was fine with the idea of SU-only, because I have a bunch of SU sets, but it's a lot easier to come up with ideas if there aren't any restrictions, so that is fine with me also.

I think that I'm qualified to rule that for January's swap, there are no restrictions, since I'm hosting.

If you are still interested in joining us in January, I'll add you to the list. You'll be lucky number 13.

Now I just need to decided if I'm going to breakout the big table we use when we have Christmas, or if I've got enough space with just the card table. I should probably figure out what my swap is going to be also.

It's a good thing I've got a couple of weeks.

Hey Melissa.

Sorry, I've not been checking in on this thread, so I'm afraid I won't be able to make the 20th. DH has all day plans. Sorry. I hope that you all have a blast and I'll make sure to check in for February plans. Have fun!

It's from 1-4pm on the 20th.

As far as shoebox swaps go:
- Make a sample of your project
- Bring your sample
- Bring EVERYTHING needed for 11 other people to make the project (except mono/snail adhesive)
- Bring mono/snail adhesive for yourself

Some people include instructions/recipes for their projects. Unless there is something tricky about my project, I don't usually include instructions.

I normally bring a writing utensil, scissors, my travel size paper cutter, and stamp cleaner, in addition to the stuff above.

If there's something that you always use when stamping (bone folder, stamp-a-ma-jig, etc.) then I'd bring that also.

It occurred to me during a sneezing fit I was having this morning that I had better warn everyone that is coming to my house in January that I have 2 cats.

I don't know if anyone else has pet allergies, but I know that I always appreciate knowing ahead of time when people have pets. Most of the time if I take a Benedryl before getting to the house, I'm good for at least a couple of hours. But, I know some people that are deathly allergic to cats, and haven't been able to come to our house because of them.

I hope Rocky and Ah-chew don't keep anyone away.

Melissa and everyone,

I am so sorry that I am going to have to miss our Jan. swap. It is the only day that worked for everyone to have my stepson's birthday party. I am bummed ; I was really looking forward to seeing you all again and making some great cards. Hopefully all will work out for Feb.

Oh my, I've got to get working on this, been too busy to even stamp lately, now that's a crime! Has anyone offered for February? I'm looking at my calendar and can offer my mom's place for March, she lives in Bridgeton.

Only 5 days until the swap!

The current count is 11 people for Saturday, so we've got room for 1 more if anyone's interested.

Melissa,

Things have changed with the party; we had to switch days. I am able to make it after all; if you will still have me. I am excited to see everyone again and actually get time to stamp.
Better get working on my swap.

Default Death in the family

Melissa,

I will not make it Saturday. My 28 year old nephew died in his sleep this morning in Houston, TX. My sister is distraught as is the whole family. I am leaving with my other two sisters that live here in the next hour for Houston. We will not be back until late Sunday probably. I'm sorry that I will miss this. Please say a prayer for my family.

Take care,
Barb

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. You and your family will be in my prayers.

I hope that you make it to Houston and back without a problem. I know they've been having some freezing rain down there, and that they aren't handling it well. My friend recently moved to Houston and she said that Tuesday they were interrupting programming to let people know which towns were now below 32 degrees.

Hopefully we will see you in February.

Hi Nora It looks like you are down for Saturday to me. If you are, I was wondering if you would like to carpool with CropQueenB (Barb) and I. Pm me or e-mail me, if you would like to meet us around 12:15 at the commuter parking lot at Gravois and 270. We would love to have you make that long trip north with us. LOL Looking forward to Saturday! I almost have my stuff ready, and not one minute too soon.

Hey Dee, Barb isn't coming...see a couple posts back. Hopefully you and Nora can hook up.

At this moment, I am a big fat maybe....*sigh*....my mom is having oral surgery tomorrow to remove a broken tooth. She went to the dentist today and was able to get scheduled for surgery tomorrow. Meanwhile, Amy came home with a sore throat and a fever. *If* everyone is in good enough shape for me to escape for the afternoon on Saturday, I will be there. I'm not so worried about Amy, but we'll just have to wait and see how mom does tomorrow. It's supposed to be one of those "no big deals" so hopefully that will be the case. (please, please, please!)

I'm a little frustrated!! I had to miss out on the one in November, and I am really looking forward to this one. Of course, my troubles are nothing compared to Barb's. I can't imagine what she and her family are going through.

OMG ty Beth for pointing that out to me. How horrible. Barb I am so sorry. I have a son that age, I can't even imagine your families pain.
Beth I hope your mom does good and you are both able to make it. I will be hoping to hear from Nora, I have sent her a pm. See you all on Saturday. Melissa, let me know if you need anything for Saturday.

The shoebox swap is tomorrow!

I've got some last minute cleaning to do, but other than that, I think I'm ready. If you'd like to preview the card I'm using for my swap, it is now in my gallery.

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...0&ppuser=63741

Dee, the only thing I can think of that I might need is an extra stampin scrub. I have one, but we are going to end up with at least 2 tables.

See everyone tomorrow!

No problem about the late notice. I hope that you can make it for at least a little while.

Originally you said you were bringing a friend. Am I correct in guessing that your friend isn't coming anymore?

Ladies I have some bad news, I have to take my son to the dentist tomorrow. He broke a tooth and the earliest I can get in is at 1pm. (doing it after hours due to emergency). SO I am so sorry. Please let me know the next time you all meet. I'd like to host one too.

Oh Nora, darn it! what is it this week with broken teeth?????
Amy has strep throat...thank goodness I took her to the dr. right away and didn't "wait and see" how she was doing. Mom had her surgery today and is doing ok. The jury is still out on tomorrow, but right now it looks favorable.

Amy has strep throat...thank goodness I took her to the dr. right away and didn't "wait and see" how she was doing. Mom had her surgery today and is doing ok. The jury is still out on tomorrow, but right now it looks favorable.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that things work out for ya Beth...it's been too long since I've seen ya!

I'm IN! Amy is feeling better already (oh the wonders of pencillin!) and mom is feeling ok enough to manage on her own for a couple hours. WOOHOO!!!! After the last two stress-filled days...I am ready for some fun and relaxation.
