Our next shoebox swap will be on Saturday, November 13 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., at Faith Fellowship Church, 4375 Ebenezer Road, Perry Hall, MD.
Theme for this swap will be masculine or special occasion cards (no Christmas, thank you, or friendship). It seems like we have had an abundance of thank you and friendship cards from the last few swaps, and I'd like to change it up by adding different ideas. So I figured we'd try this out - either bring a swap card that is masculine themed or something for a special occasion other than thank you, Christmas, or friendship - get well, birthday, sympathy, baby, wedding, anniversary, thinking of you, or a card that can be used for any type of occasion will work. By this time, most people either have their Christmas cards made or designed, so I'd like to not have those as well.
There is room for 31 people (over 18 years of age please) to attend with each person bringing a shoebox swap for 30 people to make and something to share for lunch. There is a $10 non-refundable charge per person for hall rental and expenses which will be due to me prior to the swap. Once you sign up, I'll PM you my address to send your payment to. Everyone who signs up must have a SCS ID to make this fair for everyone attending. All cards are to be full cards. Please bring enough supplies for everyone to make your card including all cardstock, stamps, inks, embellishments, tools, etc., along with your own adhesive and scissors to use on all the projects we make. Please make sure all of your supplies are labeled with either your name or initials, so we all go home with the stuff we brought. We'd like each person to have a sample and typed instructions in their box telling how to make your card, and also have their swaps in baggies or envelopes containing everything each person needs to do your card. This really helps make the swap go more smoothly.
All cards or projects must be made using Stampin' Up stamps, cardstock, inks, etc. Stamps and colors can either be current or retired.
Please bring something to share for lunch. When you sign up for the swap, please post what you�ll bring for lunch. We do not have use of an oven, so please do not bring anything to be baked or that needs to be heated up. Crock pots are welcome. There is a refrigerator we can use. There will be several door prizes throughout the day. And we will also be doing the card ministry drawings again, so feel free to bring your cards to donate. These can be old swap cards, card fronts, or even one of the cards you are doing for the swap. You girls truly are a blessing helping me keep the card rack stocked. To sum up what you�ll need to bring � shoebox swap (theme as mentioned above), something to share for lunch, your adhesive/scissors/etc. to make the swaps, and cards for the card ministry if you'd like to donate any.

Lynn, glad you can make it. Let me know if JoAnn is available as well. I signed you up for a hot dish right now, since we don't have any real lunch items as of yet. If that changes, then maybe you can switch to your salad.
I've got everyone signed up so far who has posted or contacted me. We are half way there. Looking forward to another fun day like our last one. I so enjoyed making the different themed cards, especially the manly ones. They are the hardest for me.

I've got everyone signed up to date I think. If you aren't signed up for food yet, please consider bringing something hot in a crockpot, so we have more "real" food items and not snacky type stuff. Some suggestions for food are meatballs, BBQ, deviled eggs, mac & cheese (if Mom doesn't bring it - have to ask her), hot pasta dish, wraps, Caesar salad, veggie tray, fruit tray/salad...
I told the Hubs to check his work schedule today. They are having a potluck (pig-in) sometime in November just need to make sure the dates are not the same. Fingers crossed!

I have a bunch of cards I have received when I have donated to various charities. Would you like these for the card ministry or do you prefer the "homemade" ones we make ourselves. I never use these cards but can't bring myself to throw them away.

Sue, thanks for the offer of the cards, but the card ministry is for handmade cards. Don't throw them out though - Goodwill or even a retirement home might take them.
