That depends on the amount of firing of the leaves! Black are fired/heated, green isn't fired & white..... I THINK is picked earlier?

Its PROCESSING, according to the site I got it from anyhow.

Although each of these factors plays a difference in tea type, the main variable is the type of processing technique used. White tea is minimally processed. Green tea is steamed or fired to prevent oxidation. Black tea is heavily oxidized. Oolong tea is somewhat oxidized. Puer (or pu-erh) is fermented.

I'm finally caught up with all the comments.
Sitting here drinking a nice cup of Earl Grey - double bergamot. I like my tea dark and flavorful. The bergamot really has a great flavor and smells wonderful, too.

Speaking of that Pu-ehr tea...

What is the main thing that makes puer (pu-erh) different from other tea types?
a) It tastes like coffee
b) When brewed, its color can be nearly black
c) It is fermented
d) It is sold in cakes or bricks

Puer tea....fermented???? Sounds yucky!
Has anyone tried this type of tea?
Sometimes I regret living in a small city/town with very few specialty stores. I don't think I could even find Puer here.

All in fun to keep it interesting!

Hey, I feel like the novice on tea compared to you all so I had to cheat and look up a tea quiz website to keep you hopping!

I'm just a fruity tea drinker pretty much.. I don't care for black tea or straight coffee even... and I don't add sugars or all the sweeteners so I stick with light, usually white or green tea myself, with a fruit flavoring, or I like some Kombucha green teas as they are very light also.

I got off caffeine pretty much too with my change of diet (no sugars, no caffeine, no glutens, no dairy)... so its been a challenge to adjust but has had amazing benefits to my health.

It is fermented. It is higher in antioxidants, I knew that.

I just happened to go to a small coffee/tea cafe the other day and saw they were carrying it in there, that's why I became curious about it. Hadn't heard of it before that.

Well, the BEST NEWS is that I wasn't using the questions to determine prizes this time, because EVERYONE who attended today is getting a prize!

It will take me another week probably to finish them up and get them mailed out to you so be patient, and make sure you sent me your mailing address for this time (in case I don't still have it from last time).

I can tell you involves crochet and silver-plating for starters. How's that???

FOR ATTENDEEDS: TLady, StampWizard, Christina612, SmokiesGal, SMadson, Vickie Y

Right? I didn't miss anyone, did I?

Sandra, I bought that set and tray at a garage sale for $15.00 about 10 years ago, so it probably is an antique. I inherited my DM's cup collection.
She is still living, but didn't really have room for them after moving to an apartment. So I got them. I have a lot of cups and tea pots packed away.
