Dh and I cut a couple logs and fired up the sawmill cause we ran out of boards building his garage steps to the upstairs. The steps are all done, and should last for a very long time. Dh sawed all cherry 2" (actual 2" not the lumber store 2" stuff that isn't 2 ") for the 2 sets of steps and the platform between them, and then we ran them through the planer to make them smooth. Talk about heavy!!! We built them on sawhorses and then carried/drug them over to the platform to attach them. Oh the joys of farm life!
Cherry? yes they should last a very long time.
Hubby has spent a portion of the past 2 days cutting and splitting wood so I don't have to
My misson, that I chose to accept.... Operation little ****. get the recently dead fish that santa brought, out of the tank.... Get to petsmart for an identical replacement.... Get it home and in the tank.... All before little miss gets out of the bath tub. Proud to say......MISSON ACCOMPLISHED!
Hi Everyone: Remember if you haven't mailed by the 6th, you can still just jump online and post a pic, and then mail to Toni still... Hope to see you all then online. Who is planning to be on for it????
Can you each send me your address too in PM so I can mail you a baby shower party favor?
Party favor? Oh my, you do know how to host an on-line party! LOL
I'm planning to be here. Even wrote it in my shiny new day planner so I'll remember LOL
Yep, I think that's the plan. When Toni says she's opening someone's gift, then while she's oohing and awwing over it - which we hope for hehe - then we post our pic here in a thumbnail.
Happy early New Year everyone!! I wont be up to see the ball drop...we're leaving early in the morning headed Susan's way! Driving 2 1/2 hours to Cabelas in Wheeling...got DH a gift card for a new hunting suit for Christmas and its burning a hole on his pocket! lol
Jennifer...you are THE woman! Was Lil Miss convinced?
Last year about this time a bunch of us cut enough wood for my uncle...he was having health issues...to get him through the winter. DH and his buddy ran the chainsaws and hauled the trees up the hill...then my cousin and I split it and her son stacked...teamwork! lol
I did not do ANYTHING last night but mess around online and watch tv ( until 2 am ), I got up early and bsted out Mrs. Toni's gift. Have to get it packaged and sent out. I am not sure if the post office is open tomorrow or not. My finger is perfectly fine asdie from the huge obnoxious bandage i have to keep on until the 9th. No numbness, no pain, just annoying that I can not bend it and it gets in the way.
Woohoooo!!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! May this be a wonderful, blessed year for each of you!!!
I'm excited, only 5 more days til Toni's baby shower!
I am hoping to mail out some favors tomorrow, but with the way the mail is, you may get them late. Just a little fun something. I am getting some mail a month after its mailed! How sad is that? I think the postal workers may be making a statement!
Either way, but it allows us all to ooh and ahhhh too.

We just found out DH's nephew just had a son on Christmas day. We had no idea she was even pregnant! Apparently she was only 5.5 months, and the baby boy is only 1.5 lbs, but is doing well! Wow! And to top that off, his daughter (DH's nephew's daughter that is...) is expecting and due in a few more months! The kids are 23 years apart! Whoa!

just checking in before I go to bed....or maybe I should just stay up since it's almost time to get up any...
We are getting hit pretty hard with the snow so hoping we get to go plow tomorrow! There's nothing as cool as the flakes blowing by the window as they come off the plow. I love snow, but only if there's enough to go plow!
I LOVE hearing about your snow!!!! Wish we had some here. It's flurrying this morning, like yesterday, but nothing to get excited about. I bet it is fun to plow!

My gift is finished! But then last night I decided to make another little something with it, but it will go out today!
Toni, I hope you are feeling great and are enjoying these days! If you can find the enjoyment in all those changes, lol. Just thinking of you!
I was thinking I needed DH to snap a couple pics of me making your gifts, because I have had a LOT of help from my little 19 monther.... Wow. It's been fun and she has really enjoyed 'helping'. Now if I can get it wrapped and boxed and hung from the ceiling so she can't get to it...

At 19 months isn't she pretty much hanging from the ceiling anyway?? lol!! Or so I've been told they are starting to be little monkeys around that age...
I have to admit I'm ready for Peanut to make up it's mind!!! Stay a few more weeks or get here... I started having contractions on the way to Cabela's on Sunday...by Sunday afternoon, I had figured out that's what they were! Luckily we made it back to Columbus okay, but I had DH drop me off at the hospital I'm going to deliver at to be checked (he took his friend and his girlfriend back to our house so they didn't have to wait at the hospital, plus let our puppy-dog out and fed her before coming back). Anyway, definite contractions, about 6-7 minutes apart. BUT, I was less than 1/2 centimeter dialated. They determined I was dehydrated, so kept me for 2 bags of IV fluids AND administered a shot to relax my uterine muscles. Ugh! Long story, short, after another cervical exam, they determined no changes from the contractions and the contractions were lessening, so they sent me home. I relaxed yesterday, but of course on the drive to work today, they started again!! Now I'm trying to decide if I should a) call the Dr.; b) go back to the hospital (this is where my NSTs are occurring); or c) wait it out and see what happens; OR d) go home and rest again (although I'm closer to the hospital/Dr. office at work than at home). Grr!!! I'm hoping to hold off at least another couple of weeks...the room isn't completely finished, I haven't had a baby shower AND we haven't bought the carseat, yet! Sorry to vent, just frustrated!!
OH! I haven't had a chance to get to the post office during their "open" hours over the last few days...I know I have a package waiting, just need to get there to get it!!

I love snow too... as long as I don't have to be out on the road in the snow plow's way
Breathe Toni! LOL Peanut will make an appearance when he/ she is ready. It won't matter where you are. MY advice... do what makes you the most comfortable and hang the rest of the world. Oh yeah... and make sure DH keeps us posted.

It's a blast! Unfortunately, I missed dh's call this am and he made the first run of the year without me! It's okay though cause I have lots to do here at home today.
We have about 6 here but at the office he said they had about 8 more inches than we did!

Wow! You might not be online for your shower! lol Good Luck & keep us posted! They always told dd to drink a couple glasses of water and lay on her side (I think left side) and if still having them in 30 minutes to call back to maternity floor. She had a lil trouble with dehydration too. Plus if you make sure you drink lots of water your veins are easier to hit for an IV, and around here that's standard procedure for delivery so drink, drink, drink!
OMGosh! Susan! How tiny is that?! Congratulations to them...my thoughts and prayers go out while their little 'peanut' grows big enough to go home!
Ducki - I envy your snow! I really love the snow, just hate the freezing and slush that hits the roads afterwards (from the salt trucks, etc)! I have no problem driving in the snow, at least! I always had fun riding with DH when he plowed for a couple of business around here...made for a nice little bit of extra income! The first nurse that did my first NST told me the same thing...drink lots of water and lay down on my side... I did go ahead and call my Dr. office and left a message just asking for some general advice...I hate to keep running into the hospital ER for nothing; but since I'm new to this, I don't wanna miss any clues, either! I need to just learn to relax more and let things go...I just can't stand to see a dirty house, dirty dishes, dirty clothes, unswept porch, Christmas tree that's still up along with all the decorations, etc, etc, etc... LOL!
I've got Kelly's number and, if anything happens that I can't be online Friday night, I'll be sure to let ya'll know!!
Woo-hoo!!! I had TWO packages at the post office! One from ducki and one from Kelly...and the one from Kelly MAKES NOISE!! 'Cause...yes!...I shook them! lol!

It's okay to shake packages, just not babies! I'm glad my package arrived.
Mine went out today. You should have seen me trying to package that thing. I managed to get it in a med. flat rate (no easy task) toni, you will see why. When I told little miss who the package was for and that you made her the pink scarf, she picked a few things off her shelf for you. They are in the bottom of the box.

Awwww!!! How INCREDIBLY sweet of her!! Seriously...I know I have this kind of stunned look on my face...

Oh my gosh! Seriously! I see news reports sometimes and just wonder how the heck these people can even have kids?!? Ugh! There was a 'story' around here not too long ago and they were trying to spin it so there was sympathy for the mother....that she just had so much to worry about and so much stress, yada, yada...whatever...no excuse ever to harm a child! There's so many places/people to turn to for support - emotional and monetary (at least IMHO!).

I completely agree with you Toni. Stress doesn't give you the right to harm your child. There is never a reason to hurt a child!! Poor Kaylee will have a meltdown if we tell her No. I can't imagine if I slapped her fingers what would happen! She will lay her head down on the floor between her knees and cry. Yesterday though when I told her No she replied with a long line of jibberish once, and she was looking right at me. I don't know what she said, but I think it wasn't good! lol Mommy has let her play with some ornaments on the tree, which Nana thought wasn't a good idea just quite yet, but Nana doesn't argue with Mommy she lets her learn herself. Kaylee loves the snowman jingle bell, and she can't hurt that ornament, and any ornaments that were sentimental, or she could get hurt on, were higher up on the tree. Somehow the 1st Christmas ornament of her Mommys, with her baby pic in it, was down where Kaylee could reach it, and it is just a crocheted snowflake with her pic in it, but I didn't want it ruined. She did put it back when I said No, but only after giving me her opinion! lol If I had to guess it was "Mommy allows me" lol
Wow! Toni you may be sharing baby pics soon!
I'm doing awful about mailing things out this week. It flew by as I had to pick up DS from the airport, then took him to DC to meet with an old friend and then back to Fort Lee for training, and on the way home encountered a white out of snow for a while down in VA last night... took til late to get home and I'm just wiped out!
I will be mailing out the prizes and favors post-shower, but this way you can get prizes too.
And I'll post pics of my gift but the gift will still be en route.
But at least you'll see what's coming!
Susan, seriously...you have to be one of THE busiest women I know! It's so cliche, but all I can say is "you go, girl!"... lol!
Christina...I think "yet" is the operative word, here... lol!
I think Peanut has finally calmed down a bit (knocks wood!). Talked to the Dr. office yesterday and they told me unless I have real pain or bleeding to just take it easy and rest as much as possible (good thing my job is a desk job!) and to keep my regular appts. I have an NST scheduled tomorrow and next Dr. appt is Monday along with another NST. I'm really hoping to get through to the induction date...at least that way I'm in the right place at the right time! I have discovered, though, that riding/driving seems to trigger most of the activity; and darn it, I have shopping I want to do!
What does NST mean? Cause I am sure what I can come up with is not what it really means.
Too funny! That's what I wondered the first time I went in for one...they kept referencing an NST...which is a Non-Stress Test - they simply put a monitor on my belly to determine if Peanut's heartrate picks up during movement. If they get the results they need in 20 mins, you're done, if not, they monitor for 30 mins.

Glad it arrived okay. And in case you're curious... it'a allowed to make noise. Nothing broken

Yup, makes sense. I knew the T was for test but I was stuck on S meaning Sugar.. I know they would not call it sugar though, they would say Glucose.
