You've got the right idea! Gifts range from cards to hangable art to altered items to wearable art and on and on. $5 is the suggested amount but sometimes you see things with a slightly higher value.

My Hannah moved to Maine this summer when her father got restationed to the naval base in Kiddery. Will be a great vacation spot this summer

The only reason I have so much done is because I do it when Molly is napping.
Christmas shopping for girls is almost done...just a few more items for stockings and
maybe one more gift for both girls.
Shoe box item : i have a few ideas just need to formulate them.. just finished one swap for this.. I always make a few extra, cause I know there are a few people who haven't figured out what they want to sign up for. SO I'm pretty well started anyway.
Sounds like Maine will be a great vacation. Hubby has a cousin up there,somewhere and
I have a friend thats a police chief/minister/farmer in a little town up there too... maybe some day we'll get up there for a visit...I hear its beautiful in summer...and fall and spring and winter..

Lizzie, you are putting me to shame, and I have no excuse. I don't have a family at home and I am retired. If I didn't like reading so much and if I didn't spend so much time on the forums and galleries at splitcoast, I might have time for making cards!!
Lizzy dear, I'm getting jealous. I won't even get started on this stuff until Christmas break. I'm glad we'll be getting numbers early. I don't know where the time goes, but it sure does fly by! Well, now don't be mad,,, but I got my shoebox idea put together, just need to package it. Just NVR needs to be considered.
Hubby won't let me watch CASTLE..so what else is there to do on a Saturday nite and not much going on... tree decorated last week, just too lazy to take boxes upstairs,(I guess I'll do that tomorrow)...outside decor done..even got an inflatable snowman from Nick,, oh and xmas shopping done too. Not much left to do except house work.. anyone wanna do it for me as a xmas present...??? just asking , puttin it out there..!

Hoping to feel better after 1st of the year. I was supposed to have an outpatient surgery last Wednesday but it turned into 3 surgeries - one severe - that kept me in the hospital for 6 days. Can't do much of anything but take pain meds for now and hope the healing begins. Feeling bad because I didn't get my Xmas cards made for my special friends or gift cards made for my family. i won't even be able to do Xmas dinner - but my kids are willing to try to make my sauce & stuffed shells for dinner. Hopefully I can make it downstairs for dinner with my family.
Oh Joanne, I'm so sorry to hear that! I pray that you will start to heal soon, but I know it takes a long time to get back to normal. Don't force yourself....just let everyone wait on you.

thanks my friend - any day is good for me - I'm not going anywhere LOL and I am getting sick of sandwiches and take out! I can probably work on simple cards between now and Xmas - only need to make 4 unless I can think of another idea to hold $$.

Love it when you want to place an order. Don't know SU or NVR numbers yet but you do need enough kits for shoebox so everyone can make one. Plus however many completed Jo put in the info.
Money order & registration form was mailed out this morning! (Heather helped do the money order because I didn't know how.) LOL
I was home alone last night - hubby stayed at his moms so he was closer to work, and my boys stayed with their Grandfather so I didn't have to shovel, get them to their Grandfather and make it to work on time - SO I decided to do some cards up and while I was digging out supplies (stashed for the holidays of course)... I found a stack of Recipe Cards that I had made too many of them for another swap... SOOOO
My Recipe Cards are 98% done for this event... LOL I just have to whip out either my Blender pens and ink pads or my trusty Crayola Colored pencils and finish the coloring. Yeah!!!
