Gosh, ladies...I am not getting these updates. My kits have been done for a couple of weeks now. I got a new stamp pad in the mail yesterday...Creole Spice by Kaleidacolor...I think I'm going to use it to stamp a fall leaf inside of my card.
Didn't get to the stamp show this year...had too much going on. Glad you ladies had a great time. Candice, glad to hear you got your stuff organized. My craft table is a disaster...had to do my cards on the breakfast bar...
Looking forward to seeing everyone...if you haven't told me what you are bringing to eat, think about this coming week and let me know. Thanks!!
So, I was thinking...since we are starting a little earlier, how would donuts be to bring? I can grab a couple of dozen in the morning before we leave =)

Sounds good to me, Lisa. I just asked Gerry how much one of those large carriers of coffee from Starbucks cost...I could do that and get some OJ. Anyone else want to chime in...how many would drink coffee?
I like this idea of coffee and donuts. Are you thinking to do that instead of everyone bring an appetizer? I'm meeting my granddaughter for lunch after we're done (she works at Cycle Gear), so I was/am bringing an appetizer but wasn't going to eat anything (or at least not much!).
We got a box of coffee from Starbucks not long ago for our office and it was around $20, but I don't know how many cups you get out of that. And I think they also throw in creamer and sugar (I could be wrong on that, but I thought they did). If we go the coffee and donuts route, I'd gladly contribute to both.
And with the sugar rush, we'll all get done real fast!! LOL!!
Here's what's happening, Ladies, for the food part of our swap:
Lisa W. has offered to bring some donuts. I will get a coffee carrier from Starbucks; will also have some OJ, water and some soft drinks. To those of you that are bringing an appetizer, go ahead and do so. We are starting an hour earlier so we can have breakfast and a small lunch. Let me know what everyone decides to do. I need to check with Starbucks to see how many servings we get out of one of the carriers.
I would probably have a cup Betty. When we got one of those Starbucks things, I think it was around $20. They provided sugar, creamer and cups when we got it. They also do tea I believe (or hot water and tea bags). I'll plan on bringing donuts then =)

Ok, Lisa...that will be great. Linda mentioned she thought the carrier things were about $20. I'll call tomorrow and make sure. I was going to do it today and then got sidetracked.
Hey, Renee...not a problem...I'm not a coffee drinker myself.
Wait, we are starting when??? Sheeshshss........ goes to show how much I pay attention. NOT!!!!!! I would have shown up at 10 ..... lalalalaaa...........
I haven't decided what I am bringing, but something!! now you got me going with breakfast.........
Guess I had better go think about my kits now, huh? Oh the pressure!!

Yep!! just about 10 days. No problem!! Well one small problem, Tyana's daughter is getting married, so that is kinda cramping my style, and hindering my friend from stamping!!

Wow! Is Jamie getting married! I taught her brother, Jason, in third grade! Send them all my Best Wishes!
I seem to be getting the updates, for the most part, but I check once a day anyway when the swap date is getting nearer.
So....Betty, not surprisingly, I'm confused! Is everyone supposed to bring an appetizer, but there will also be coffee and donuts? Or is it one or the other? And if it's one or the other, how do we do our fair share on the coffee/donuts?

Hey Linda,
Lisa wants to bring donuts, since we are starting an hour earlier...I thought I would get some coffee from Starbucks, along with some OJ, water and soft drinks. There may be a few coffee drinkers so I am kind of rethinking that. I checked with Starbucks and it is $12.95 for a coffee traveler and serves 12 to 15.
My original plan was to have appetizers and that still is the case. So hoping is still planning to bring an appetizer of some sort. It will be a light breakfast and lunch.
So to help me decide on the Starbucks coffee, how many will drink coffee and how many will not. I need to go through the thread and see how many have expressed that they wll not be drinking coffee.
Donuts, coffee, and appetizers....my three main food groups (or at least three of my four favorites; add some chocolate and I'm a happy camper!)
Wish I was going to be there for the stamping as well as the food.
I am sending kits though and thought I should let you know that my card will require dimensionals; also glue dots and/or 2-Way glue. Tweezers would be helpful but not a necessity.
Hi Ladies:
Trust you all have had a fantastic weekend...love the cool weather.
Gerry and I got home about an hour ago from a weekend trip to Lakeport. He did the Konocti Challenge, a bike ride around Clearlake. The weather was perfect, we had an awesome room this year at the Skylark Shores Resort. We stayed there last year. This year the room we reserved looked out at the lake, we had a covered patio with a picnic table, portable BBQ and some chairs. We spent yesterday afternoon, after he got back from his ride, sitting on the patio, enjoying the view and the quiet. We reserved the same room for next year.
Well, the signups are closed for this swap. We will making a completed sample and 15 kits. One of our ladies had to drop out. Remember your kits are to have all the stamping, cutting, etc done...we will only be assembling the cards.
I still need to hear who will be drinking coffee...3 have said they will NOT BE DRINKING. ALSO, please try to tell me what you are binging so I have some kind of idea of what we'll have.
If anyone needs directions to the mobile home park, please let me know.
Oh, Lisa...my husband requested a chocolate old fashioned donut...thank you! (He is always willing to help me so it would be good to reward him...lol)
Betty, I will do my best! Chocolate old fashioned are my favorites too, but it seems like they don't make them as much as they used to...at least at the places around here =(
Betty,
Sent you an email. I guess I had better start working on my kits, huh? I got an idea and the papers, now just have to produce!! I had to do an emergency SU order last week for some paper, but it showed up and now I am ready to rock!!

Jerry-
Forgot to tell you that I won't be drinking coffee on Saturday-I have to get it down before I can function. So I will be as awake as I an able!
Thanks!
Sue
Hey Betty...I just realized that my email associated with this Splitcoast forum is actually cornelcardcrafter@yahoo.com. I am getting the thread at the email address. You can use this one if you wish or keep what I sent you earlier. Looking foward to another swap with this group of very talented gals.
Tomorrow is the day! Hope everyone is finished with their kits and ready to get together. Three of our ladies have had to drop out, 2 due to illness and one because of unexpected company. We will have a small group...it will still be fun and there will be lots of kits to put together...
So looking forward to seeing you all in the morning!! Remember it starts at 9 am!!
Betty,
So... how was the Aloha spirit thing? Sorry couldn't remember what it was called. Good day today!! Some beautiful cards!!
jennik
Hi Jenni,
It was ok...didn't get to see any hula...heard some Hawaiian music. We were there about 2 hours and I was ready to go home. Awesome swap, gorgeous cards as always. Glad you were able to come...
Kate brought me the kits and I just finished putting them together. Awesome cards! I would like to know who did which card (I know Renee's and Betty's). My online 'filing system' puts your cards in your folder, so I want to be sure to get them straight.
Sorry you didn't get my kits. I'll bring them to the next swap in addition to my swap for December. If you don't think you'll be there, let me know and I'll mail it to you.
Karen:
Rose: red card, white embossed tree, JOY cut out; Sue (Renee's mom): oversize cream card, green embossed tree w/red crystals; Evelyn: white card, red layer, white embossed layer with small oval, red bow on oval; Jenni: striped layer, pot with boots sticking out, cut out bats; Kate: licorce stick treat; Renee: embossed card, stripped strip and candy treat; Annee: white card, black layer, cut out with spider showing through; Kate: trick or treat bag that she used as your kit; Normalee: fall leaves cut outs; Ruth: black slide out card (Halloween); Lisa W.: black window car (Halloween); Rhonda: black card, cut out owl and bat; Joann: white card w/cut out snowflake, card is embossed. That should be all.
As far as December is concerned...Candice will be hosting at her house, I'll be talking to her this week, not sure what she has decided to do.
