Okay ladies, our next shoebox swap will definitely be on November 4, 2006, but I want to do this poll to find out which place you would like to have it at. We can have Pleasant Hill UMC in Owings Mills (where we held the May & August swaps) free of charge for the day, or we can have Faith Fellowship in Perry Hall (where we held the March swap) for $5/person. They are charging us to open up the church, the utilities, and having someone there while we are using the church. $5 is not a lot to charge per person, but we felt that we'd give you the option to decide where you would like this held. So majority rules on this. I'll keep the poll opened until September 15, so please vote soon.
Swap is limited to 30 people each bringing one shoebox per person. If we do not get more than 15 people, then we might consider the two swaps per person like we've done in the past. Each swap is to be a Christmas card or winter themed card or gift idea. Time will be from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Bring something to share for lunch. Basically the same as we have done in the past. Swaps are to use any SU items - current or retired stamps or colors. Each box needs enough supplies in it for each person attending to make your card/project.
If you are new to a shoebox swap, please feel free to ask questions. Thanks ladies for voting and deciding where to have this.
Hello, It looks like I can come this time. Either place is fine with me. If I have to pay the $5.00 its a lot closer to me. Or I would spend it on gas going to the other church. So it doesn't matter. Pam
I didn't vote yet since I don't remember which place is which and where they are. The one in Owings Mills is closer, but I don't care which as I plan to be there either way.
Either place works for me. I voted for Owings Mills, because I have been there before and it didn't take too long to get there. Perry Hall is not that far away either.
Kelly doesn't have computer access right now - but she wants to vote for FFC also. She will probably not be able to come if it's in Owings Mills - I don't think her vote will count though unless I find out her user and password to sign on as her and vote for her.
I don't mind either cause I don't know where either one is! I'm coming from Calverton (I95 south of Baltimore). Is one any closer than the other for me?
If you haven't actually voted and just posted to this thread, please go and vote. That is how I'm keeping count. And if you don't care which one, please vote for one. We are trying to do this in a fair way, and I really need all of your votes. For Donna and Kelly, they will need to actually vote for themselves. I'm pretty sure you guys can't vote for them unless you know their SCS name and password. I appreciate your help with all of this.
I am from Baltimore County (Catonsville)..... I, now, live in Lancaster County Pa . Is this open to 'new' people?? (i.e. people that didn't come to the previous swaps?) I've never been to one.... looks fun. Thought I'd ask..... just in case.
I am hoping to make this swap but I don't have my husband's on call schedule yet. Won't have that until Oct. I voted for FFC because it is closer to me than the Owings Mills area.
Yes Joan, this swap is open to anyone, so please feel free to join us. I love Lancaster County. My husband and I visit up there and camp quite frequently. Love those Amish owned stamp stores!

I will keep this in mind.... writing it on the calendar to check back in a few weeks. Thanks!!
Yes.... the 'plain folk' owned stores are great for cheap supplies, but not so much for stamps. I don't find many stamps, at their stores, that I 'need'. However, that doesn't stop me from going!! My friends and I LOVE to make a day of it and doin' lunch!
If the swap is held in Perry Hall, I will be there. We have a party that night at 6pm, so I need to be close to home to get ready. I just voted, so when the results are posted, I'll know for sure!

Come on ladies sign up. Hopefully everyone is busy with summer things. And since school starts next week you will have time to be on the computer checking out the events. Pam
The poll is over September 15, so at that time, I'll announce the new location. They are both good locations. I just hate having to charge for the one. Once the poll is over, I'll probably start a new thread listing all the details and taking sign ups.
Please ladies if you haven't voted yet, please vote. I want to make this your event, but need your feedback on what location you all prefer. I know some of you said it doesn't matter where we have this and that could be the reason you haven't voted too. I'm trying to design a Christmas card, but just can't get past thinking fall right now.
Cindy, I didn't vote in the beginning since I didn't care which, but went back in & did when you asked us to do something for a count.
Ladies, I sure hope we have a good crowd for this since this is a great way to make a lot of Holiday cards. If any of you were like me and didn't vote right away, please do. If you would like a headstart on your holiday cards, this is a great, fun & DELICIOUS way to start! I hope to see a lot of you there! You can get so many great ideas for your cards!

Hey Theresa,
I think for us they are about the same distance. the $5 one may be a bit closer. Do you want to meet at my house and we can drive up together??
Kathy,
That would be great! Thanks for the idea. I always prefer to ride or drive with another person when I'm going somewhere new so I have or can be a navigator/co-pilot:-D

We have room for 30 people. I have not started taking any sign ups yet. We are just trying to figure out the location. I'm sure there will be room though, because we've never hit the "30" limit. I will post another thread to take sign ups once the poll is complete. Hope you can make it.
I have someone who wants to come, she is not registered on SCS but is an SU! demo. She doesn't care which location it is cause she'll be coming with me. Do you have to be registered on SCS to attend? If so, I'll tell her to register. She has been on SCS but only as a guest.
No, she doesn't have to be registered on SCS to attend. When I do the new thread for the sign ups, just add her name to your post, so I can include her in the total. Thanks for inviting her to stamp with us. Sounds like it's going to be a good turn out.
Hi Cindy, I hope you counted me in. Can't wait, so sorry I missed the last one.
I voted for Perry Hall and will keep checking for sign up sheet. Donna Hilse
