Hi ladies,
Please note that I have updated the donation information in post #1! I am very excited to be collecting supplies for these children. The poverty level in this school very high and it's heart breaking to think that some children lack the most basic of school supplies. Don't forget that we are also collecting cards (with envelopes, please) for the hard working staff in this building to use.

Lauri, can you give us an idea of the kind of things needed by the children at this school? Is it a grade 1-8 school?

Hey Lauri!! Just wondering how numbers are coming? Some of these swap numbers are daunting and I would love to get started. I am still under the weather and may struggle to finish them all in 10 days.

Hello ladies,
Thank you Pat and then Nancy for bringing this to my attention. I honestly do not know what was going through my head when I made the registration deadline just 10 short days before our event as that is not enough time for most to get their swaps completed. With that being said, I am only expecting 2-3 more registration forms that I know of. That's not to say that 10 more could not roll in, but that usually does not happen, so I think the current swap counts are very close to what the final numbers will be. Again, I'm very sorry and hope that this error on my part does not put any of you in a bind. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you!

OK ladies .. if you are on the fence .. jump off and get your registration in soon! ! HAHA. Check those swaps to be sure they are accurate. How's that for a kick in the pants???

ladies who are nervous about the time between close off and actual swap, my advise is to make whatever the number of that swap is now,plus a couple more, so if there are more people added to that swap you will only have to make a couple more, don't wait for the close date then work, start now.

We all have our own workflow. I usually plan my swaps around what supplies I have. AKA ... how many embellishments I have and how much DP I have. So I much prefer to have a number that is pretty close. I certainly don't mind making a few extra .. that isn't a problem. But I feel it's crazy to need to get everything out to make more if the number increases by a lot. Who has time for that? That's like making 2 projects.
I will have to hope that I am healthy when final numbers are released.
Are we safe in assuming that 10 kits plus 4 completed will be sufficient for our shoebox project? ?

Okay so the good news is that DH is done working in Ossining the 9th and will be working at Elmira CF! He has to report on the 17th :-) We are all so happy that he will be home VERY soon! Bad news is that he does not know whether he will have the weekend off of the 19 :-( until he reports on the 17th. I really really want to come but the timing just isn't there :-(

I talked to DH a few hours ago and he is going to try to get in touch with Elmira CF and hopefully they will be able to tell which weekend he will have off. I'm keeping all of my fingers crossed that it is the 19th :-D
I'm really missing everyone! It seems it's been a long summer (not that that is a bad thing!) and school really needs to start!
So we all know im always done ahead of time,,,good news the stamping is done, bad news ,,,, 7 days ago, I fell and dislocated my right elbow and ulna bone in fore arm,,,double bad news,.i'm right handed...and ,triple bad news.everything needs to be layered....elbow has been reset and bone has been reset,,andi have a cast on to just below shoulder,,,,and dont know when cast is coming off...so if things are a crooked...sorry,, if i can get help,it shouldnt be too bad,,and event is still 11 days away,,,now i'll try my hand at layering. c u all there,,and yes i'm typing left handed,,,!!!
