Happy Wednesday!! Last I knew, Simply Scrapbooks was still open, but will have Carolyn research that and let us know. If they are open, I am going to ask her in inquire about them staying open late on the day of our gathering so we can stop and shop afterwards!! To be honest with all of you, I like less then 15 minutes away from Utopia and did not realize that they had closed - how sad.

Gayla - you rock!! So on top of things!! I just heard back from Carolyn and it appears as if it may have been closed for short period of time and is now reopened with new owners. Carolyn is going to call them or stop by and inquire about them staying open late on 10/15 for us to shop after the gathering. I'll keep you posted.

They are just the cutest things! I keep mine on my desk. Most have sayings or scripture on them, but not all. They are adorable in the rolodex file with all of the different embellishments sticking out all over.

Thanks so much for your input, Carolyn. Ina and I have decided to go with what we know and are staying at the Farmington Comfort Inn. I think it might be the same one that we stayed at last year, which means Red Lobster next door! They're offering quadruple points right now on a stay so eventually we'll have one of these gatherings with the room paid for.
Now another question: If we don't see our secret sister from last year on the attendee list should we still bring her gift? Or should we mail it? We still have a couple of weeks so there's still time to sign up, but I just thought I'd throw it out there.
Melissa: FYI-There is NOT a Red Lobster next door to the Farmington Comfort Inn.
Oh, yes...I have to ask...are there stamp shopping opportunities in the area???

In the city of Canandaigua, we have a very nice/new Joanne's store with a large scrapbooking/crafting area. There is also a Michael's store in the city very close by to Joanne's. They are both on Route 5&20; otherwise known as Eastern Blvd.
In the village of Victor, there is a small but very nice NEW scrapbooking store open. Called The Village Scrapbooker. However, this store closes on Saturdays at 4pm. I have spoken with the owner and she is willing to either open early or stay late for shoppers going to the gathering. I NEED TO KNOW WHICH TIME WOULD WORK BEST FOR MOST PEOPLE ASAP! Based on what I read in the posts here, I will let her know and then I will post another notice letting you know when she will be open. She offers a frequent buyer card where you need only purchase $25 to get 10% an item!
Her store is located on Route 96 in Victor-very near to the NYS Thruway!!

So, if we don't have the die is it easy to "duplicate"? I saw some with circular slots ...
I have the die, so I've never had to duplicate, but I bet it would not be hard. The size of the card is 4x2 5/8. I'd imagine that circular slots would be fine as long as they were in the right spot. Would you like me to send you a die cut one for proper measurements? Just let me know, I'd be happy to!

I too am interested in this swap but never have seen the "rolodex die"
who make it? I do have rolodex cards but will these work??
Regular roladex cards are too short. The correct size is 4 x 2 5/8. I have the die and would be happy to send a die cut card to anybody who would like to use one for the proper measurements. Nancy mentioned seeing and example where somebody made their own using a circle punch for the top of the slot, but I have not personally seen this. Nancy - could you post a link to the card that you saw??
